Two months after the beat up i was able to understand alot of things in this supposed army not only did i notice how my body was lighter ,faster and quicker but i got a hold on how my unique skills worked ,these unique skills constantly kept me alive as we fought of the cryptids in the other world.I was able to acquire ranged barrier and self regeneration .
I decided that I would work up the ranks and have enough power to make a run for it. But judging from my current strength this would not happen anytime soon. my unique skills include;
RECORDER;It had the following;
Analytical appraisal
Thought acceleration
Acquire-the ability to acquire analyzed skilled and record them in form of data
parallel operation and calculation
ADAPT;It allows the user to adapt to opponents attacks and develop resistances for the user. It is effective when an attack is analyzed .
So in short, by analyzing an attack i can use recorder to analyze it and adapt to make myself resistant to it , i can gain my opponents skills as well.
Two months of slaying ,cryptids allowed to evolve into a commanding officer, though the change was hardly noticeable .One thing is i was able to copy many fighting styles in the many battles ,i never felt this invincible. A week later ,i was getting ready for a mission to fight the cryptid again ever since the lieutenant officer took me i have been in the front lines .
Don't get me wrong i love the fighting but its all we do .No breaks have we been given so far and the other phantoms they never seem to care its like they are robots they do as they are told .Again they never seem to have any emotions you can see it in their eyes. We arrived ,but this time something was different ,looking towards the lieutenant he seemed to notice as well i saw how he tensed up his sword .A roar or rather a screech could be heard ,then out of nowhere this giant creature charged at me at insane speed ,with its disgusting hand hit i almost fell unconscious .There was constant ringing in my ear as i fell head first to the ground .This behemoth of a cryptid killed half of the phantoms about 200 just by releasing it aura, i survived out of sheer luck and the fact that i was a commanding officer . The behemoth , then started running in my direction ,"get up", i told myself .It was futile but it suddenly stopped ,getting on my knees i saw a huge flame engulf this cryptid it was no else but the lieutenant ,i smiled ,finally someone actually took it down . I heard a roar almost like a battle cry from the cryptid . I guess it was enjoying itself ,the sick bastard, jumped out of the flame then formed a blast from its mouth ,it aimed for the lieutenant, it hit him.I could hardly believe what i was seeing.
All of a sudden ,my injuries were healed. It was the lieutenant who healed me, but when i looked at him half of his body ,the abdomen to the legs were in the behemoths mouth, the monster threw his body up in the air. I tried running to him but a space motion circle formed beneath me , a thought communication came through my mind it was the lieutenants voice, 'Report to the field officer , what you have seen today"
"yes sir', i said inwardly .My last memory of the lieutenant was watching him get devoured by the cryptid . I found myself in a military like base .
Suddenly i heard a female like voice.It was recorder i willed for her to have a voice option she was more of an advisor to me at this point.

I could not help but form a grin .At Least i gained something out of the lieutenant truly one step to freedom.
