For the first time since the seal broke,
Ling Kushi spoke from the stars.
"You've done well," he said to Liss.
"You're almost there. When the last god falls, you'll be free.
And so will I."
She stood alone.
The stars bled.
The Lady pulsed in her ribs.
"You'll never let me rest, will you?" Liss whispered.
"You are rest," he answered.
She looked up.
"Then I'll kill you, too."
