He's talking to himself.
Vehicles pass by him, but he doesn't seem to care. It's clear that he's troubled, so lost in himself that he doesn't even realize it's time to go home.

He comes out of his thoughts and touches his face with his hand. Then, he looks up at the sky.
Raindrops begin falling on his face.
"I should go home," he says, then grabs his bag and starts running toward home.
BOOM — Thunder Sound ⚡⛈️
A loud clap of thunder echoes.
He stops for 2 seconds and looks at the lightning in the sky, thinking deeply for a moment.
Then he starts running again.
"If only this lightning struck me down," he says. "I'd finally be free of everything."
*Thunder ⚡ sounds again*
As if someone heard his plea, a bolt of lightning strikes him.
He doesn't even have time to react—his body burns completely.
His body, charred, falls to the ground.
