There was still one more thing Atlas had to do before Shattered Ember Island could truly be merged with the main island of Gacha Haven. Deep underground, within a vast network of caverns, a single raid monster was still hiding, concealed behind a frozen pool of water.
If Atlas could defeat that monster, he would not only gain incredible rewards, but he would also finally be able to choose an even larger island, where all activities and operations could be focused in one place.
However, Shattered Ember was known for its strange nature. The environment could change dynamically, often without any warning. This gave the island a unique character, clearly different from the main island, where the weather mostly followed the normal climate of the area where it was currently floating.
Because of this, Atlas decided to delay the merge, or perhaps not do it at all.
