They couldn't afford to encounter enemies or, worse, be discovered. The stakes were incredibly high. A confrontation, especially one that escalated and attracted the attention of other Lords in the area, could be catastrophic for Atlas.
Operating without the support of an alliance on this island left no room for error.
Their strategy during this early phase of the Dominion Skirmish was clear. Map out the enemy forces, act as silently as possible, and avoid committing to full-scale confrontations. If they were to engage in battle, it had to be calculated and decisive.
Getting caught in a prolonged fight or allowing their enemies to summon reinforcements would only leave them at a disadvantage.
