“R-Rika, what’s going on?”
Roan and Lezed ran up to Erika as soon as she escaped the basement.
Erika quickly left the room and dove into an explanation. “The elder from before, and a giant man have kidnapped man and woman in the basement.”
“What?”
“They’re human traffickers. Uncles are very busy these days trying to capture them.”
The children had uncles; five uncles, to be exact, all with distinct hair colors. Rosica called them ‘rangers.’
They were always taking care of dangerous tasks, and recently they were having an especially harder time because of the traffickers across the capital.
‘Our uncles were capturing them in secret, so as to avoid having the knights perform a wide search in plain sight, just because they didn’t want to bring fear into the capital. But…’
However, she found out that eventually, they’d requested the support of the imperial family, since they hadn’t made much progress on their own.
