Chapter 7 - 7. Velvet Chains

Saanvi Khanna

Anger isn't unfamiliar to me. But with him, it feels different.

It doesn't burn red. It burns gold—opulent, consuming, and seductive in the most dangerous way.

I slam the door behind me as I walk into his office, the click of my heels echoing like a gunshot. He doesn't flinch. He didn't even look up.

"Stop ignoring me." I said

Aaryan flips a page in the file in front of him, like my presence is a whisper, not a storm.

"You're still here?" he asks, voice calm. Too calm.

I cross the room, heels echoing across marble, and snatch the file from his hands.

"You don't get to walk away after last night. You don't get to touch me like that, claim me in front of a client, and then act like I don't exist."

He leans back in his chair, gaze finally lifting to mine. Slow. Icy. Dangerous.

"Touch you?" he repeats. "Sweetheart, I haven't even started touching you yet."

The heat between us is electric. But beneath it, rage simmers. Not hate. Something worse— it's our unmet need.

"I'm not one of your deals, Aaryan. You don't get to play both sides."

He stands. Walks around the desk. Circles me like a predator who already knows he's won.

"I don't play," he says, stopping behind me. "I own."

"And what exactly do you think you own?" I ask, voice barely steady.

His hands don't touch me. But his breath dances along the back of my neck.

"You. In every way that matters."

I turn on him, furious. "You arrogant, controlling—"

He kisses me.

Hard.

One hand in my hair, the other at my waist. And this time, it's not slow or gentle. It's war. Lips clashing. Teeth biting. A firestorm wrapped in silk. His tongue dominating mine while he kiss me hard. His hands roam over my back along the curves.

I push him back against the door, tugging at his shirt. He lets me, eyes dark, mouth parted.

"You want control?" I ask, breathless.

He nods, breath ragged. "Always."

I slip my fingers beneath his belt, undoing it with practiced calm. "Then give it to me first."

His jaw clenches.

But he does. He lets me lead.

I back him into his chair, climbing into his lap without hesitation. My hands thread through his hair, my lips devour his, and for a moment—just a moment—I feel powerful.

Until he flips the script.

He lifts me like I weigh nothing, placing me on the desk, scattering pens and papers. His mouth trails down my jaw, teeth grazing my skin.

"You don't get to pretend you're unaffected," he growls.

"I'm not pretending."

He slides a hand beneath my skirt, fingers slow, torturing.

"I could ruin you right here," he murmurs. "On this desk. In this office. Where everyone knows your name."

"Then why don't you?" I whisper.

He stills.

Because the power shift was never real. He let me lead.

But he's always been in control.

He leans close, lips barely brushing mine. "Because when I ruin you, I want you to beg for it."

I shiver. Not from fear. From need.

But then he steps back. Fixes his shirt. Fixes his cuffs.

Leaves me breathless and wrecked on the desk.

"Dinner. Tonight. 9 PM. Wear red."

"Aaryan—"

He glances back. That same maddening calm in his eyes.

"This was me being merciful."

And then he's gone.

I stare at the door he just walked through, my heart still in my throat.

Because mercy has never felt this brutal.

And power? It's never been this seductive.

I went back home, he sent a tailored red dress.

I kept thinking and couldn't shake of the feeling that he's going to ruin me and I'm waiting for it.

I keep thinking what he's up to? Is he planning to something or ....

Suddenly there is a knock , I thought it was him. As I open the door i find Vivaan stand against it.

Without saying anything he just comes in and sits on the couch asking if he owns this place.

"Why are you here?"

"Why? Haven't I been here before?"

" That was different, now you're nothing to me.So you better leave before I call someone."

"Call someone? Are you going to call that Aaryan? Let me tell you something, he's not what you think. I don't think he's good"

"Huh? Are you good?"

" Wait it's not like that, tell me one word and I'll protect you" he says coming near me holding my hip.

I move back.

"Don't play with me,you won't know what will happen to you". I warn him.

"So funny, do you think he loves you? He's gonna destroy you be careful ". He says moving out.
