Chapter 53 - The rain and memories

Parashu was training alone in the quiet clearing. His muscles ached from the repeated strikes, but his mind was restless. Suddenly, a cold, heavy feeling filled the air — a dark presence he could not ignore.

He stopped and looked up. Standing before him was Kamravinash.

The tension between them was thick.

Parashu's voice was steady but filled with pain.

"The war is over. So many lives have been lost already. What more do you want now?"

Kamravinash's eyes were deep and tired.

"I want only one thing — for those who died to come back. That's all I ask."

Parashu's voice sharpened.

"Have you forgotten how many lives you took, all to save those who were already gone?"

Kamravinash shook his head slowly.

"I don't want to kill anyone. I only want everyone to come back. That's all I ever wanted."

Parashu frowned,

"Then why did you join the Kara Army?"

Kamravinash's voice was soft but firm.

"Because Kara means hope — hope to bring back those who are lost, hope to reunite with those who have gone."

Parashu was silent for a moment, then asked quietly,

"But you joined them even after they killed your own people?"

Kamravinash's face tightened.

"I joined after they killed everyone close to me. What choice did I have?"

At that moment, rain began to fall heavily, the sky darkening as cold drops soaked the ground.

Kamravinash looked away and began to speak, his voice almost a whisper.

"There was a girl once — Devyaani. I spent my whole life trying to earn her love. I gave her everything I had. I worshipped her. But I was never enough for her. I never got what I wanted. That's why I don't want anyone else to have what I lost."

Parashu's heart ached as he asked softly,

"Did Devyaani die?"

Kamravinash nodded slowly.

"That day, the rain fell just like it does now. Devyaani and I walked together, talking quietly. I told her, 'I know I may never truly have you. I have accepted that.

But if you ever choose someone else,

find someone great — not just someone better than me.'"

" Because I was neither born with the right to have you, nor have I been able to earn that right."

Parashu looked at him with quiet understanding.

"So, you lost her… but she is still alive."
