Chapter 94 - Chapter 93 – Tactical Disadvantage

It was supposed to be a quiet afternoon.

Leon had just finished replying to a few work messages and set his phone down on the edge of the coffee table—only to look up and find two suspiciously innocent faces closing in.

He blinked. "Don't even think about it."

Amara didn't flinch. Lila just grinned and struck first, snatching the phone like a professional thief in miniature. Before he could react, both girls had bolted, squealing with delight as they launched into a full-blown baby escape mission.

Leon stood. "No—no, no, give that back—"

Lila, victorious, shoved the phone in her mouth.

Amara tackled her sister to get a taste herself.

And then, because chaos demanded escalation, they both scurried straight under the living room couch, dragging the now-glistening phone with them.

Leon dropped his hands to his sides and let out a deep breath. "Of course."

He got down on his knees, peering under the couch like a man negotiating with a pair of tiny, drooling goblins.

"Ladies. This is not how we treat expensive electronics."

Giggles echoed from the dark. He reached in, only for Lila to slap at his hand like she was swatting a fly. Amara clutched the phone tighter and rolled deeper into the shadows.

Somewhere behind him, Elias let out a soft coo from his playpen, entirely unbothered by the operation unfolding. He rolled lazily onto his back, clutching his floppy plush bunny like it was a family heirloom and babbling a tune only he understood.

Leon groaned as he flattened himself on the rug. "I have personally negotiated billion-dollar deals with less resistance than this."

He reached again. Missed.

Behind him, Aria's voice floated in, amused. "Do I even want to know what's going on?"

Leon didn't bother looking up. "We've been overrun."

Aria stepped into view just as he finally fished the phone out. It was sticky, covered in faint bite marks, and somehow smelled like strawberries. He held it up triumphantly. "Victory. At what cost, though."

She chuckled as she bent to scoop up Amara, who made a squawking protest. "You know you could've asked for help."

"I had it under control," he muttered, still brushing off his shirt and trying to catch his breath.

Lila crawled over and slapped his knee.

"Traitor," he said affectionately, catching her before she could scurry away again.

He looked over at Elias, who was still serenely playing with his bunny, completely unbothered.

"At least one of you understands loyalty," he said dramatically, walking over to scoop the boy up. Elias responded by drooling on his shoulder.

Aria sat beside him on the couch, letting the girls play with their soft toys now that the phone had been removed from the battlefield. "You know, it's three girls to two of you now."

Leon nodded solemnly. "I've been thinking the same thing."

"Oh?"

"It's a tactical disadvantage," he said, deadpan. "Me and Elias? We're completely outnumbered."

She raised a brow, but the amused sparkle in her eyes gave her away. "You poor things."

Leon leaned in a little closer, voice low and teasing. "We might need reinforcements."

Aria narrowed her eyes. "Reinforcements?"

"A fourth. Preferably male. You know... to balance the teams."

She snorted. "You're insane."

"I'm practical. Look at this chaos." He gestured vaguely to where Lila was now banging two blocks together while Amara tried to eat her sister's sock. "You think Elias and I can manage this without backup?"

Aria laughed so hard she nearly spilled her tea. "You're just trying to trick me into having another baby."

He didn't deny it. Instead, he leaned back against the couch, Elias nestled against his chest, and smiled.

"Just think about it," he said, tapping his chin. "Team Castellan could use another MVP."

Aria shook her head, eyes crinkling with laughter, even as her heart warmed.

She looked around the room—their children giggling, Leon beaming despite the chaos—and realized that, outnumbered or not, this was exactly where she was meant to be.
