Lying on the cold marble floor, breathing heavily and with the echo of screams still ringing in my ears, I remembered everything that had happened since I arrived in this world.
Not much time had passed, and yet... it felt like years had gone by.
My body was shaking, not from fear, but from helplessness. I was still too weak.
Too fragile to prevent history from repeating itself, to save anyone.
I clenched my teeth.
I will not relive another tragedy. Not again.
With effort, I got up. The guards were still trying to bring order to the room: clearing debris, helping the wounded, and avoiding eye contact with me.
Without saying a word, I turned and walked towards the exit. The air smelled of ash and dried blood.
