I could have continued training, but there was no point in wearing myself out before the meeting. Every movement had to be measured, every breath had to be timed. Another reason I didn't continue was that I could feel everyone's eyes on me, weighing on my back like invisible blades. The crowd of servants and apprentices seemed to move in slow motion, as if time had folded around them. My mind tried to concentrate, but it was impossible to ignore the feeling of constant surveillance.
It wasn't the same as the main mansion, because unlike there, no one here despises me, at least not so blatantly.
