"I haven't decided yet."
"Stay in the country," he reiterated firmly. "I'll be here too. I don't want you going abroad anymore."
"And what business is it of yours whether I go abroad or not?"
His eyes narrowed, a flicker of displeasure flashing through his gaze. "Of course it concerns me. It affects the happiness of my future life."
Long Fengxi, unimpressed by his flippant tone, couldn't be bothered to argue and simply changed the subject. "If I stay, I'll have to resign from my overseas position and reapply for work here. I really don't want to work in the family business. I'd prefer a job in the private sector—it gives me a stronger sense of accomplishment."
"I hope you stay," Shen Congmo said, his eyes unwavering. "Fengxi, which residential complex do you like?"
"Qinyuan. After all, it's my brother's project. I think he designed it quite well—there's an airport, supermarket, clinic, gym… everything you could need. Too bad he owns the entire development and doesn't sell. Otherwise, I'd really want to buy a unit."
"Then Qinyuan it is."
"What?"
"Our home. The one we'll live in together."
"…" Long Fengxi feigned indignation. "Who said I'd be living with you?"
"You're my girlfriend. Of course you'll live with me."
"I haven't agreed to get back together with you!"
He declared with arrogant certainty, "You're the one I've chosen for life. You're mine. Your brother may not sell to outsiders, but if I ask, he'll sell. I'll choose a spacious, well-laid-out unit you'll love—maybe even a villa for convenience. I'll handle everything. Once it's renovated, I'll bring you to see it."
"I'm not moving in."
"Then I'll just carry you in."
Long Fengxi glared at him. "Shameless."
"That's just another word for 'devoted.'"
"…"
"Buying a house in my complex?" Long Yubei's smile was tinged with amusement. "What, can't bear to live too far from me? Want to see me every hour of every day?"
Shen Congmo rolled his eyes. "I'm renovating it for a wedding home, thank you."
"Very well. I'll sell you one."
"I want a villa," Shen Congmo said lazily, resting his chin on one hand. "Name your price."
"My property is prime real estate—you know the location, no need for me to elaborate. Sixty million. Non-negotiable."
Shen Congmo popped a stick of gum into his mouth. "You're no better than a profiteer."
Long Yubei responded coolly, "Getting married, having kids in the future—I need to prepare formula money in advance. Someone once offered me ninety million and I still refused. You know I don't like strangers living in my complex. I'm only considering this because it's you… and Liang."
"Deal." He agreed without hesitation. "Have Tang Qingli show me the options."
Long Yubei called for Tang Qingli to arrange the viewing.
Most of the properties were fully furnished, since he had never intended to sell, and there weren't many villas to begin with.
So Shen Congmo picked a tastefully decorated one and sealed the deal on the spot.
That very day, he ordered new furniture, had his bodyguards and staff move in, and put his old residence up for sale.
The efficiency left Long Yubei speechless with admiration.
When the transfer was complete, Long Yubei asked, "Why the rush? Feels like you couldn't wait another minute to move in."
"Exactly. I like that your complex has twenty-four-hour patrols. Feels safe."
"Spare me. Why didn't you feel that way before?"
Shen Congmo simply smirked in silence. "Where's your wife?"
"Why do you care about my wife?"
"Just making conversation."
"Not telling you."
