Chapter 258 - Sousland Arc: Five

Abigal waited in the shadows for Faye outside of a recently liberated ghetto homed to hundreds of vampires. She didn't have to wait for long as Faye walked up to her carrying a Sousland flag.

"Is the territory going to be called Sousland?" The medium asked.

Faye laughed, shaking her head. "No, its just a place holder Sous thought of. After all the ghettos are gone, Canas will be."

Stab!

She placed the flag into the ground by them. She smiled at the woman and nodded her head.

"When do you want to enter the portals?" Faye asked.

"I think it would be best once we finish up here," Abigal said. She shuffled her feet, almost dragging herself onnthe ground.

"I don't know, Abigal, this is going to be a while. Years."

"I know." The medium responded. "You're helping a lot of spirits cross over to the other side though. And Sous really likes having you around," she said.

Faye sighed resembling the map Sous gave her. They had so many more ghettos to liberate, it was all so exhausting but the good thing was, they were building a military from the species willing to fight.

They were pushing Apex back. An important fact since Apex was bleeding over into Nadia, do now the Nadia forces were beginning to enter into the fight.

Faye placed her hand on Abigal's shoulder, a silent gesture that needed no words. The air around them crackled with static electricity, a familiar prelude to Faye's magae.

Faye took out her needles to begin the process of teleporting them both to the next ghetto.

Abigal closed her eyes, feeling the sudden weightlessness as reality twisted around them. When she opened them again, the humid night air of the liberated ghetto was gone, replaced by the stench of blood and rust.

They stood in the shadow of a crumbling watchtower, its broken searchlight casting jagged shadows across the ground.

Faye looked up and saw Sous waving a Sousland flag. The priestess jumped to the rooftop to meet with her best friend, leaving the medium awkwardly on the ground.

"She's helping?" Sous asked.

"She wants to," Faye said. "We want to go back to the portals but already we've been liberating these camps for the past few months with no end in sight," she explained.

Sous nodded her head. "Is it smart to travel along side a woman whos in love with you?"

Faye looked to Sous' side but Tany was no where to be found. Sous laughed.

"We split up weeks ago to cover more ground," the Alpha said.

"Nothing will happen between us. I wouldn't do that to Makala just like you wouldn't t Kara," Faye responded back, confirming her actions with her best friend.

Abigail smiled at Sous while Faye rolled her shoulders and stretched her arms to prepare for the fight ahead of them.

Several months went by with them liberating vampire ghettos. The watchtowers burned, one after another, their searchlights died in bursts of sparks and smoke, swallowed by the night.

Abigal learned to move through the wreckage without flinching, her shoes crunching over shattered glass and discarded syringes, her fingers brushing the cold walls of abandoned barracks where whispers of trapped spirits still lingered.

Faye's needles flashed silver in the moonlight as she helped lead many of the wandering spirits into the after life. And of course Sous' derpy flags were placed about the ghettos they had liberated.

It took about an year and a half before all the vampire ghettos were liberated with the focus now being turned to the centaurs and mixed ghettos that held numerous species.

Back at the royal palace on the Island of Dimona, Alana sat with her commanders as she looked at the large map of Canas on the wall. Majority of the east was liberated with only a few more campus to go being handled by Tany.

Alana smirked, although she was leading this war, this war was more for saving Canas than her own country.

Tap, tap!

Alana could hear the soles of Sous walking down the hall toward the war room. They were getting older. Sous had strains of gray growing in her hair as well as Alana, both were in their mid forties at this point.

"You did good," Alana said to the Alpha. "You and your friends."

"Thanks! I was invited to go to Nadia to go to a vampire village of an old friend," Sous began to explain. "There's a book I need to read to see if I can sway a potential ally." A reference to Hacate's diary. A book she hadn't seen since she was twelve.

Sous stepped closer to the map and placed her hand out to demonstrate what her team would be doing in her absence.

"While I'm gone, Tany and Faye will flake each leading several platoons of soldiers. Faye will go to the north while Tany will go to the south, slowly gaining ground and making our way to the Apex training grounds." The Alpha sighed. "Two years, maybe two years in a half to reach that destination."

"I think you should replace Tany for Kara and have Tany go to the north," Alana suggested.

Sous looked at the map and slowly nodded her head thinking that was a good suggestion.

"Also, Tany and Kara are holding back. If they truly wanted to end this then they would," the elf said to her. "Let us end this. A year, no more than that."

Sous walked to the chamber she was sharing with Kara. She began to undress and unwind for the day, telling Kara what was discussed in the war room.

The Omega stood by the window her arms crossed, her mind racing wondering if the children she had with Zhiliary were alive.

They made love that night. It was difficult for Kara to truly relax during dire times but she felt safe at the same time as Sous thrusted into her.

"Ow!"

Sous stopped and looked at Kara. "Are you okay?" She asked out of breath.

Kara looked at the Alpha on top of her. "Its been a while since we done it, a year or so. I guess...I closed up a bit," she said to her mate.

"We can do something else," Sous offered.

Kara shook her head. "No, you can finish. I can take it."

Sous just stared at the Omega but shook her head. She slowly pulled out and laid beside her. "I don't want you in pain, here." She wrapped the Omega in her arms, holding her...protecting her.
