Chapter 177 - Underground City Arc: Two

Sous had a significant amount of money that she got from the missions she had done back when she was at Hacate. She stood at the bank transferring money to the Omega she had relations with back at the wolf pack.

She sighed. The last thing she wanted to be growing up was a lone Alpha with numerous baby mamas. Zan, Tany, now this Omega. She sighed again and placed her head on the ATM machine. If she could start all over, she would. She wouldn't have mated with Zan, she wouldn't have mated with Tany, she wouldn't have joined wolves unite.

She'd have kept her pants zipped and buckled, but this was her reality now. Two grown kids and another on the way, a child she couldn't even be with because she was to leave back to Canas.

Sous walked to a bench and sat down with a hamburger in her hand. She took a bite and wiped the ketchup from her face. Her cheeks were puffed out and she watched the elves walk by. She found it interesting that they were serving human food.

"Oooo Imma go see my mom," Sous said to herself, licking her fingers. "Shadow Jr. would probably want to come. It would be fun to go see family and for her to see the Omega she liked."

"How much money did you send your baby mama?" Shadow Jr. asked sitting down next to Sous while her father was getting ice cream.

Sous rolled her eyes. "Can you not say 'baby mama'? Thats such a human thing to say."

"Aweee, the Alpha is upset," Shadow Jr. said with her lips puffed out in the number 3. She sat back and ate her ice cream with Shadow finally coming to them with his own.

"So what are we doing here? What is Icarus doing?" He asked.

Sous shrugged. "I don't know actually. He says its for Tany but he hasn't told me anything else."

The three of them looked at the tall building said to be the city council of the city of Trey. She glared in the distant, wondering why they went underground to begin with since they were able to easily defend themselves against the wolves who attacked.

"I bet this all has to do with Apex," Sous said.

Icarus kept his black wings tucked as he stood before the council of the elves. He looked at each member and held his arms out.

"I am here by word of Tania of Vania. Your request."

An elf slapped a book on his table. "We are underground due to a potential conflict with Apex coming south of the border," the elf said.

Icarus listened to his words, and made sure to take mental notes.

"For twenty years, no one has done anything to stop Apex from gaining more and more territory except for Sous. In twenty years when Sous was away, Apex was able to conquer all of Canas, putting all species with the exception of witches and humans into ghettos."

Another elf spoke, a female. "We have been attacked by a nearby wolf pack who have gained an alliance with Apex. To prevent such attacks we moved underground. We seek assistance with Tania to allow her us to thrive under her protection in exchange for what she desires," the female elf said.

Icarus kept his arms out. He looked at each member and then back at the female elf. "Tania has sent me to offer her protection. She requires your assistance in return. She needs you to help her with a task. She needs you to help her with a task that will require your skills and knowledge."

The council members looked at each other. They were silent for a moment. Then the female elf spoke. "What task does Tania require of us?"

Icarus lowered his arms. He took a step forward. "She needs your knowledge of ancient magic. There is an artifact hidden deep within the mountains. It is said to hold great power. Tania believes it can help in the fight against Apex."

"Do not lie to us, young man," the female elf said. "Tania can defeat Apex all on her own. What is the real reason she wants this artifact?"

Icarus cleared his throat. "She wants more power."

The three witches sat in their lab in their desk chairs. They looked at Tany as the young woman spoke to them about this ancient artifact. An artifact even the sisters knew nothing about.

Gortrius got up and looked at the cauldron that had a wooden spoon stirring the condiments within it. She looked over and saw the potion was going the way it should, the blue liquid bubbled.

Glinda waved her bandit slave away after he brought her her tea. She took a sip and placed it back down on the small saucer.

"How did you hear about this artifact?" Gladian asked.

Tany smiled. "I read about it at the library at Hacate University. Hacate is still alive, you know this right?"

The three sisters raised their eyebrows. It wasn't unheard of for a witch to live that long, let alone a powerful one but it was out of the norm.

Glinda shook her head and got up. "I don't know. Her seals corrupted her."

"Yeah," Tany said. "The seals corrupted her, not killed her."

Gortrius leaned over the cauldron and placed her finger in the bowl. The top potion melted off all the way to the bone. Gortrius looked at it and within seconds, the veins, blood source, muscle, and skin were back on her finger. She smirked.

"The wolves of Apex are trying to conquer Nadia. The lead arch is having a hard time controlling them," Tany exclaimed.

"Now, now, now," Gladian mocked. "If they had listened to the warnings twenty years ago, they wouldn't be in this predicament, now would they?"

"Its easy for us to say that since we're witches. We will be protected because they know they can't win against," Gortrius said.

"Don't be cocky, ladies!" Tany yelled out. "The wolves partner with the humans...it is the humans who burned us at the stack."

Sous looked at the ATM again and saw the Omega recieved 60k don from her. The Omega was at Sous' mercy. Unlike humans, no other species had child support. Mates would simply provide although some Alphas did not if not truly claimed.

She turned around and saw Icarus standing before her. "Whoa!" She said. "What did they said?" She asked.

"We're going to be here for a good minute," was all he said.
