Dorian's face twisted slightly in annoyance at the faint tingling sensation along his side and within his body.
That pain couldn't even compare to the throbbing headache, the heavy pounding that spread through his entire face.
'It hurts.'
'What even happened?'
He slowly pried his eyelids apart but snapped them shut almost instantly as the bright light above him burned his retinas.
Annoyed, he raised his hands and waved them upward until they hit something. A loud crash followed as it fell to the ground.
'Augh.'
He cracked one eye open, made sure there was no blinding light, then opened the other. A low groan slipped from his lips.
His gaze swept over the room, a small, plain hospital ward with pale dark walls, a humming ceiling vent, and the faint smell of antiseptic.
