Chapter 13 - CHAPTER 13

# CHAPTER 13:- WHEN PEACE STRIKES

The smoke curled and thinned, drifting apart like torn curtains.

Two silhouettes emerged through the haze—tall, sharp, their ties hanging loose around their collars.

They walked forward with deliberate calm, each step heavy with intent.

The hover car's sleek door hissed open.

Maxi swung one leg out, unhurried, his expression unreadable.

But before his boot touched the ground—

WHOOSH!

One of the men vanished from view in a burst of smoke and reappeared in front of him, the hiss of boosters roaring softly from his legs.

The man landed in front of Maxi with a soft thud, boosters hissing faintly before falling silent.

He straightened his coat, then rested one hand casually on the roof of the hover car.

"Let me introduce myself," he said smoothly, voice calm but cutting through the smoke.

"My name is Hanza."

He tilted his chin toward the figure approaching behind him.

"And this—" a faint grin tugged at his lips,

"—is my partner, Kavy.

We are members of the PEACE organization."

The words hung in the air like a warning.

Maxi didn't flinch. Didn't even glance at them immediately.

His head remained lowered, messy blue hair sliding over his face.

Then, slowly—deliberately—he lifted his gaze, eyes glinting beneath the stray strands.

A single brow arched.

"You know what?"

His voice is calm. Almost bored.

"I don't care."

Kavya shifted slightly in her seat, peeking past Maxi's shoulder.

Through the thinning smoke, their faces came into view.

The first man—Hanza—looked almost relaxed, his short green hair catching the last light of sunset.

A golden pin gleamed beneath his nose, sharp and deliberate, as if meant to taunt authority.

One hand rested lazily on the hover car roof.

The other stayed buried in his pocket—too calm for someone standing in the middle of a standoff.

Beside him, his partner moved like a shadow.

Pink hair framed his face, reaching just to his ears, but what stole Kavya's attention was the strange device strapped across one eye.

At first glance, it looked like an eyepatch. But then—

A circular lens whirred to life, spinning faintly with a neon-blue glow, symbols dancing across its surface.

His hands stayed deep in his coat pockets, body angled slightly like someone who could explode into motion at any second.

Both wore black formal coats over combat-grade boots—boosters integrated seamlessly, faint blue vents pulsing with restrained power.

These weren't just men.

They were predators—and the hunt had just begun.

Roxford, Triface, and Noxiya all stepped out of the hover car.

Roxford placed one hand behind his head, the other gripping a laser rifle resting casually on his shoulder.

"Ah… Triface, I think we called the result too early. Looks like the real action starts now."

Triface smirked, pulling a sleek laser pistol from his coat pocket.

"Yeah… let's go."

Maxi slowly pulled out a dagger from the sheath on his back—its blade glowing an ominous red.

With a sharp SWOOSH, he swung it toward Hanza, aiming straight for his neck.

Hanza tilted his head back effortlessly, boosters flaring as he slid away with casual grace.

"Oh-ho… close one," he said, almost amused.

Maxi stepped out of the hover car, his boots crunching against the road.

A faint smirk played on his lips.

"Ah-ha… I thought this would be easy. Looks like I'll have to work a little harder."

Noxiya drew her laser sword with a sharp hiss, the crimson blade humming to life.

In an instant, all three officers lunged forward from the left—while Maxi ignited his boosters, a burst of blue flames erupting at his feet as he rocketed in from the right, dagger glowing like molten fire.

From the Peace duo's perspective, the world blurred into chaos—four high-ranking officers closing in with deadly precision, their movements synchronized and lethal.

Hanza's eyes darted left, then right, reading every angle, every strike in the split second before impact.

Beside him, Kavy adjusted his footing, the glowing lens of his cyber-eye spinning like a dial, processing attack trajectories at lightning speed.

The air thickened with tension—four blades, two lives, one chance.

Hanza glanced sideways at Kavy, a faint grin tugging at his lips as he gave a subtle hand gesture.

"Time to get started."

Kavy tilted his head slightly and nodded, calm as ever.

"Got it."

Maxi lunged first—boosters flaring under his boots, his red-glowing dagger slicing the air in a deadly arc straight toward Hanza's midsection.

At the same time, Noxiya sprinted forward with her laser sword drawn, the blade humming with a sharp electric pitch as she aimed for Kavy's throat.

From the rear, Triface and Roxford moved into position, weapons raised—laser fire ready to rain down if things turned ugly.

Hanza shifted his weight, pivoting just enough to let Maxi's glowing dagger whistle past his midsection.

But Maxi didn't slow—he twisted his wrist and brought the blade slicing upward toward Hanza's head in a flash.

Hanza dropped low, crouching as the dagger carved through the air above him with a vicious SWOOSH.

On the other side, Noxiya adjusted her stance midair, swinging her laser sword in a fluid arc aimed straight for Kavy's throat.

Kavy ducked at the last instant—the blade hissing as it missed him by inches.

Without pausing, Noxiya twisted, her momentum carrying into a brutal overhead slash toward his skull.

Kavy spun on his heel, the move graceful and sharp, the blade missing by a breath.

As his boots skidded against the pavement, Kavy flicked his gaze toward Hanza and gave a quick signal.

"Back up—I'm going for her."

In one smooth motion, he darted toward the hover car—toward Kavya.

Hanza kicked his boosters into full thrust, launching himself backward into the air. Smoke trailed behind him as he hovered midair, glaring down at the officers.

"Remember this, officers—she hasn't done anything wrong!" His voice cut through the chaos like a blade.

"She's not a criminal. So why treat her like one?!"

He smirked, tilting his head.

"See you around."

From the ground, Roxford and Triface opened fire—rifle blasts and laser rounds slicing through the fading smoke.

PEW! PEW!

Blue and red flashes lit the alley as their shots tore upward.

But Hanza twisted midair, boosters flaring, weaving through the barrage with impossible precision. Each move was clean, almost taunting.

In that same instant, Kavy dashed forward like a black streak. His boosters hissed as he reached the hover car, yanking the door open.

Kavya's wide eyes met his for a fraction of a second—before his voice hit like steel:

"Let's go. You don't belong here."

Before she could speak, Kavy grabbed her hand and hauled her out with shocking strength. In one seamless motion, his boosters roared to life, launching both of them skyward.

Kavya's body jolted, the world tilting as the ground fell away beneath her feet. Her heart slammed against her ribs as she clung to his arm, wind whipping her hair across her face.

"Don't let them get away!" Maxi's voice tore through the air as he fired up his own boosters, blasting off the ground in pursuit.

Behind him, Roxford and Triface raised their weapons, locking onto the fleeing figures as the chase ignited across the city skies.
