There's a saying: when you succeed, everyone is kind and lovely to you.
Similarly, if you're born rich, people will only show you reverence and humility.
At this moment, the tables had turned, and a group of school administrators were mercilessly attacking Coach Watt.
The middle-aged white woman in charge of teacher transfers stated expressionlessly, "Threatening students with corporal punishment is shameless, Coach Watt, you must leave this school!"
"That's right, Coach Watt, your actions bring shame upon our high school," Principal Guan said with a righteous expression.
Between half a million dollars and a sports teacher, they didn't even need to think before making their choice.
"How can this be possible!" Coach Watt's mouth hung open, his expression dazed.
"You, you can't do this!" Watt stammered, his hands not knowing where to go, alternately touching his gelled hair and pinching his thigh. "I've bled for this school! I've won four championships for this school!"
He couldn't imagine himself unemployed. Having been at this school for decades, Watt had become a boiled frog; if he lost this job, he didn't know what else he could do.
Go find a new school?
LuthorCorp wouldn't let him off the hook, and no school would risk offending LuthorCorp to take him in.
"I'm sorry, Watt, we cannot condone your behavior." Principal Guan's expression was flat, completely ignoring Watt's pleas, and instead turned to Jino, putting on an eager expression once more.
"Mr. Jino." Principal Guan's face was filled with flattery and respect, his voice low and quick. "Are you satisfied with this outcome?"
"If you are, please relay this to Mr. Lex and ask him to continue supporting the development of Smallville High."
"Yes, Mr. Jino, you're a good boy." The woman from the academic affairs office pursed her lips and lowered her voice. "You only skipped one class; I'll write a thousand-word self-reflection for you."
Looking at the defeated Coach Watt, and the group of school administrators fawning over Jino.
Whether it was the football players or Clark and his two friends, everyone's understanding of wealth and power was refreshed.
It turns out, being rich really can…
Under everyone's gaze.
"No, I'm not satisfied with this result," Jino said slowly, and the atmosphere instantly cooled. Everyone held their breath, eagerly awaiting Jino's next words.
"I think firing Coach Watt is too cruel," Jino chuckled, a gentle smile on his face. "After all, he's contributed a lot to this school."
Hearing Jino's words, Watt's previously lifeless eyes suddenly lit up, filled with gratitude as he stared at Jino, his lips moving as if to speak words of thanks.
"What?" Principal Guan looked bewildered. Could it be that they had misjudged the situation?
Even Clark and his two friends looked stunned, wondering if Jino had lost his mind. Watt wasn't worth pitying at all.
"I think we can give people who make mistakes a chance," Jino said amidst everyone's confusion, glancing at Whitney. He had been the one cheering the loudest behind Watt earlier.
So, Jino slowly spoke, drawing out his words, "As long as Coach Watt publicly washes Whitney's socks, he can stay at this school, and LuthorCorp will continue to support the development of Smallville High!"
Buzz!
As Jino's words fell, the previously silent crowd instantly erupted.
"My god, make Coach Watt wash Whitney's socks!?"
Clark in the crowd couldn't help but raise an eyebrow.
"This…"
He looked at the dumbfounded Whitney. Honestly, Clark felt a little schadenfreude deep down.
Little Pete covered his mouth and said to Clark and his friend:
"Oh my goodness, if I were Coach Watt, I'd be so ashamed I'd want to die. This is practically murder… what was that Eastern proverb again?"
"Killing someone's spirit," Chloe murmured, her beautiful eyes fixed on Jino's profile. "I almost thought he had become a saint. It seems this guy hasn't changed at all."
On the other side.
When Watt heard Jino's condition, his expression was as disgusted as if he had swallowed a fly.
He had thought the other party was being benevolent, but what awaited him was an even deeper humiliation.
Jino sneered, looking at Watt's alternating pale and green face, urging, "Make your choice, Coach Watt."
"Your pride, or your job?"
"I…" Anger burned in Watt's heart. At this moment, he wished he could scream and rush up to kill Jino. This extreme humiliation made Watt clench his fists, his breathing gradually heavy like a panting old ox.
But thinking of the rest of his life, his clenched arms slowly relaxed. Watt suppressed the humiliation and said, "I'll wash them!"
With that, Watt turned to Whitney and roared, "Take off your shoes, kid!"
Watt lowered his voice, "If you still want to keep your position as football captain, take off your socks!"
"And someone go get me a basin of water!"
More and more students arrived, and soon, a student brought a basin of water.
"I…" Whitney's expression was strange, but under Watt's compelling gaze, Whitney lowered his head and took off his shoes.
"Wow, I didn't realize Whitney was wearing Winnie the Pooh socks," Little Pete exclaimed unintentionally when he saw the socks on Whitney's feet, causing the onlookers to burst into laughter.
A somewhat sour smell made everyone unconsciously step back.
Amidst the jeers, Whitney handed his socks to Watt.
Everyone watched as the corpulent Watt painstakingly squatted down, scrubbing the stinky socks in the water.
He scrubbed them over and over, as if he wasn't washing socks but venting his anger.
"Coach Watt, I hope you learn your lesson this time," Jino said expressionlessly, looking at the frustrated Watt. Honestly, punishing a clown like this didn't give him any pleasure.
"Let's go," Jino said, leading the three of them away.
"Hey, what's going on here?" Lana Lang, Whitney's girlfriend, arrived after hearing the news.
When she saw her boyfriend standing barefoot, red-faced, while Coach Watt scrubbed his socks, Lana's face darkened as she walked towards Jino. "This looks like bullying, Mr. Jino Luthor?!"
"You should be ashamed of yourself."
Whoosh! Before Lana could get close, Jino and Clark's faces simultaneously turned pale and greenish.
This unusual sight was noticed by some observant people.
Jino endured the dizziness, his mind made up: Kryptonite had too great an effect on him; he absolutely had to take this little threat away.
The longer he stayed, the weaker he felt.
"Perhaps."
Under the influence of Kryptonite, Jino chose not to argue with Lana. Feeling lightheaded, he leaned gently on Chloe's shoulder, signaling for her to take him away.
As he left, Jino gave Lana a deep look. "Miss Lana, I look forward to seeing you again."
He decided to remember the public scolding Lana had given him for later.
