Now, the match started again after the break. In short, we keep winning against other schools. I think we just got lucky by not battling against strong enemies. There are some funny moments like when Lunette teased Ray until he stumbled and became a clown. When other schools are serious about the competitions, we are just playing and goofing around in the arena. Seriously, what kind of team is this?
Next day, we started our first competition. This is the second day of the festival, we have to make a good performance on this day. We meet up at the front gate and enter the waiting room. We waited until we were called to the arena. Leo, Nio, and Rena came towards us. I could see an annoying smile on Leo's face.
I asked him, "What?"
Leo said, "So you both are the younger siblings of that famous idol?"
Rena was surprised and said to me, "Eh? Really?"
Rena looked very excited to hear that. Lunette and I never told each other that Big Sister Wave was our older sister. It seemed like Leo had been an observant person since long ago. Rena was also very excited as usual.
Lunette said to him, "Idol? I also wish I had an older sister like that."
Leo seemed to be trying to corner Lunette. I don't know why he did that. Lunette also tried to put on a calm face, but I don't know how she was inside. Rena also looked very innocent and easily believed Leo's words.
Leo continued with an annoying smile, "Don't you already have one? The Star, Neon."
Lunette looked a little panicked, "What are you talking about? Neon is my friend."
I could see Lunette looking panicked inside even though she tried to stay calm. Leo looked so happy toying with Lunette and Nio laughed at them.
Nio just laughed and said, "I guess Lunette was telling the truth. We've seen their older brother at school, right?"
Rena sighed and said, "I thought I could meet Neon, but apparently not."
The three of them chuckled seeing Rena who looked like she was being toyed with. The MC started hosting the festival again while we were in the middle of our conversation. They saved us. I was confused about how to answer the question earlier.
The MC started again, "Everyone! Break time is over! Please return to your seats and watch this match!"
The match started again on the second day. This time the match was started by Lionel and Tyone Academy. I wasn't sure that our academy could win against an academy filled with that person.
Leo said, "Okay, I guess it's time."
We nodded and chose people. Another person on our team, Ray, walked towards us. He looked very excited to join the match.
He said to us, "So, how are the teams divided?"
We all just shrugged our shoulders and tilted our heads to the side. We also didn't know how to choose this team because we all just randomly chose before.
"I have an idea," Leo said with a serious face.
I've never seen Leo with a face this serious. This time our opponent is a student from Lionel Academy, it will definitely be a tough fight. We can't just choose people with bad teamwork.
After a while, Nio, Rena, and Ray went up to the arena with exhausted faces. On the other hand, the enemy team went up to the arena with confidence. Here I could see the difference in status between our school and theirs.
Nio said with an awkward smile, "I didn't expect us to choose players in a rock-paper-scissors way."
Rena also nodded tiredly. While the opposing team was choosing participants seriously, our team was choosing participants carelessly even when fighting strong opponents. I couldn't believe what I was seeing.
I said to them, "Leo, I thought you looked serious, but this is the result."
Leo smiled with satisfaction as he said, "Yes, this. Interesting, isn't it?"
I couldn't believe Leo would say that so innocently. Meanwhile, Lunette just nodded her head in agreement. Why do all the students in my academy just like to play around? As I thought, our academy lost and immediately went back to school.
Rena said to Ray, "I can't believe you charged straight into the enemy at full speed."
Ray just said to him, "Huh? I wanted to finish the match quickly."
Nio just smiled and said, "Come on, who would have thought we would be defeated like that."
Leo said to them, "But the way Ray was defeated was so funny."
Ray looked so embarrassed that his face turned red. After all, he was defeated so badly and humiliated in front of the public. Ray ran as fast as he could using his magic towards his enemy and his partner. As he ran, the enemy just dodged and kicked his leg, causing him to stumble out of the arena. What a humiliating defeat.
Ray spoke to us again, "Then, Nio and Rena are the same!"
In short, Rena tried to help Ray. She also charged towards the enemy even though she was more skilled in sneak attacks. What a terrible teamwork. The enemy just wrapped his hand with his magic and blocked the knife easily. While Nio tried her best to strengthen Rena. When Rena was slammed mercilessly by her enemy, Nio only focused on defend.
The other teammates attacked Nio incessantly. Luckily, Nio was given the ability to create a barrier from her magic. It seemed like Nio and Gyrus' barriers were a little different. In Nio's case, she could create a barrier from a distance but it was quite fragile, unlike Gyrus who could only create one around him with a very strong defense.
Lunette said to us, "Even so, Nio was really great earlier."
Leo replied with, "Yeah, he was the mvp in the match earlier. Although he was defeated by them too."
Nio just smiled as he said, "Well, my barrier isn't as strong as Gyrus'. Besides, I didn't think we can win this match."
True, ordinary people wouldn't think of something like that. While we're playing around, the other teams are seriously picking their participants. I can see our teacher will call us to the principal room.
Then we went home after talking. Lunette and I gathered with Big Sister Wave and went home. He looked very happy to see us on the arena.
The second day, we did the same thing as the first day. This time the match was held one on one. The first round was held by Tiune Academy against Lionel Academy.
Lunette just laughed and said, "They will definitely die."
I was shocked and said, "Die?!"
Lunette looked at me and laughed when she saw my reaction, "Ah, I didn't mean really die. They will be dying to the point of wanting to die, that's what I meant."
Leo also laughed when he heard that. Sure enough, Tiune Academy was defeated easily. Despite its appearance, they managed to hold out longer than when we fought them.
The host started saying, "Damn! Lionel Academy is so strong! Who can defeat this top academy?!"
The host seemed to be not paying attention to his words anymore and blurted out whatever was on his mind. He seemed to be unable to hold himself back any longer.
After a few matches, our academy was finally called to go up to the arena for the next match. We looked at each other's eyes again. We stared at each other with serious faces.
Leo said again with a very serious face, "Are you ready? Once you go, there's no turning back."
Lunette also stared at him sharply and said, "Yes, I know. We're ready for it."
Nio and Rena nodded at him. We stretched our hands forward and prepared to do something.
Leo said, "On the count of three."
Lunette continued Leo's words, "One… Two… Three…"
We all shouted, "Rock, paper, scissors!"
The same thing happened again today. Luckily, I wasn't chosen to compete this time. The ones who were chosen were Lunette, Nio, and Ray. I couldn't say it, but I could see Ray was very unlucky. They then went up to the arena and started their preparations.
The host spoke again, "This time we have Tyone Academy versus Lionel Academy! This will definitely be an exciting battle! We can see Lunette's action against Gyrus showing off her extremely strong power! Will Lunette's fire be able to penetrate it?"
It seemed that Ray was still a little traumatized by what happened to him yesterday, while Lunette looked very excited. Gyrus had a rather gloomy expression as usual, while his teammates looked very relaxed. After all, Gyrus was the only one who finished the match all this time.

Honestly, Gyrus is the most feared opponent out of all the participants here, everyone tries to avoid him as much as possible. The match soon began, and everyone was immediately shocked. Gyrus who was on the other side of the arena was suddenly in front of Lunette in a blink of an eye. Luckily Lunette was still able to react by blocking his attack a little.
Gyrus looked a little surprised because Lunette managed to block it a little with her sword. Even so, Lunette was thrown back quite far. Lionel's 2 academy teammates besides Gyrus also looked to be bored as if mocking them. I think this is a rare opportunity to see, Lunette is a person who rarely gets upset. Usually she is the one who causes trouble, but now she is the one involved in trouble.
Nio said to Lunette, "I think we should attack him as a team, okay Lunette?"
Nio's words were true, even for Lunette, Gyrus' power was too strong for her. But I know Lunette's character, there's no way she can just accept that.
Leo said to me, "What do you think Lunette will do?"
I could see him smirking as if he already knew what answer I was going to give. That's the reason why I don't like Leo, he is very good at reading other people's emotions while he himself is difficult to predict.
I just answered him, "I think Lunette will go alone again? Although I don't know."
Sure enough, Lunette immediately charged with her sword towards Gyrus to attack him. However, Gyrus easily blocked it with his barrier magic. Nio quickly helped Lunette with her support magic, while Ray dashed forward at full speed and kicked Gyrus. Even though it hit his body, Gyrus didn't budge an inch as if it had no effect at all. Maybe it really didn't have any effect on him, knowing that Gyrus had strong defense and attack.
They attacked Gyrus continuously, but other than Lunette's attack which was blocked, no other attacks had any effect on him. It was truly like a sturdy castle. The other teammates who were behind just laughed at them. Actually, they could try to defeat them first, but they wouldn't be able to win if Gyrus wasn't defeated. Besides, Gyrus didn't seem to take out the great sword he kept on his back. No one had ever seen that sword used during this match.
After a few minutes, Gyrus seemed to be bored with this fight. He quickly blocked and broke Lunette's attack, making her lose her balance. Then, he moved towards Ray and hit him so that he bounced far away against the wall. We were all shocked to see that and were speechless seeing that.
Gyrus then moved towards Nio and grabbed his neck. He looked very scary like a lion that got its prey. Gyrus threw Nio to the ground and looked down on him.
Gyrus said to us Tyone academy students, "This is what happens when you think highly of friendship. Too weak."
Gyrus raised his leg and tried to step on Nio's head. At that moment, Leo, Rena, Lunette, and I ran immediately to him in the arena. He's really crazy! What is he thinking by doing that?! Lunette points her sword at Gyrus while me, and Rena are in the arena with our weapons but stopped by the guards. Leo were quick so he was in the arena before we do and grabs Gyrus' shoulder. I swear if he tries to do something to Nio I won't forgive him. Lunette and Leo are ready to execute if he's trying to do something.
Gyrus looked a bit amused when he saw them moving towards them. To be honest, he doesn't seem interested in Lunette, or Rena, or Leo, but he turned to me.
He said to me in a very cold tone, "Aren't you the one from back then? What did you do?"
I just said, "What are you planning to do with my friend?"
I was surprised because I did the same thing as Lunette and Leo. As soon as they charged, without me realizing it my body did the same thing. This isn't my character. I never pulled my sword against a person before, but this case is an excuse.
The host said in a surprised tone, "What happened?! Leo and Luna suddenly entered the arena! This is a foul! But Lionel Academy also injured the opposing players too much so we can't blame them! But still, I think Tyone Academy should be eliminated from this match, what a shame."
Gyrus said to us in a cold tone, "Even if you three fight me, you won't be able to defeat me." Then he turned his gaze towards Leo and continued, "Isn't that how it's always been, Leo?"
Leo rarely had a serious expression, usually he seemed to love joking and teasing others, but this time he was like a completely different person. His gaze was very cold and sharp like a razor when he sharpened Leo, and vice versa.
Leo said to him in a serious tone, "Are you still looking for the Book of Origin? Are you serious about doing it this way?"
I said to him in a threatening tone, "Forget about the festival, let's fight now, I'll beat you up."
Gyrus looked annoyed for a moment after hearing those words. At that time, Gyrus intended to attack the three of us, and we prepared for the worst. Luckily, before that happened, the field supervisors stopped us.
At that time, the situation at the festival was very chaotic because no one expected it to turn out like this. Gyrus' actions really annoyed me. I struggled from the supervisor's grip to attack him. My head heated up little by little, like boiling water. It could be said that I rarely acted like Lunette who was annoyed, showing that her actions were truly unforgivable.
We were forcibly taken to the participant waiting room and I was asked to cool my head. The atmosphere in the room was very gloomy, of course after seeing what happened earlier. Nio was being treated in the treatment room. I didn't know what would happen, but for now we could only wait for the announcement to be given. Gladly, that was our last competition on this day.
The situation is chaos and gloomy. All of us worried about Nio's condition, but we can't do anything for now. Rena is just walking back and forth while waiting for any news of Nio. Ray seems injured as well on the bed in the infirmary room beside Nio.
Lunette speaks to Leo, "Leo, do you know anything about Gyrus?"
Leo answered her with a serious tone, "Only a bit. We both were at the same school before."
Lunette continued asking him and trying to gather more information, "What's wrong with him? He is so weird. It's just a competition."
She is right, it's just a competition. I have a feeling that he is a psycho from back then when I meet at break time. He just put things too far, why did he do it? He slaughtered them mercilessly in a brutal way during break time, and now he wants to do more? He's truly a psycho.
My blood in my head is boiling with anger. I really can't let go of this. My body is shaking, but now is in a different way of fear. I don't want to lose my friend. I'll make sure he pays for what he has done. I kept tapping my foot on the ground while waiting for news about Nio. A mixture of anxiety and fear keeps eating me.
After a while, the nurse walks out from the room and says, "Your friends are fine. Ray doesn't have any serious injuries and is still conscious for now. Unfortunately, he won't be able to join today's match again."
All of us nodded in understanding and feel a bit relieved for now. The atmosphere lightened a bit after we heard about Ray's news. Thank God, I don't know what will happen if something happened to Ray as well. Rena is still worrying about Nio's condition. She keeps fidgeting her fingers in panic as if she is trying to keep herself calmed. I noticed Rena's worriness, of course I feel the same thing. Especially, Nio and Rena asked me to be their friend back before. I hope he will be okay.
After a while, the nurse speaks again, "As for Nio, unfortunately he is still unconscious. His injuries are quite serious. Maybe he won't wake up soon enough. But his condition is stable for now if I must say."
The sadness struck the room right after we heard about Nio's condition. Rena is shocked and frozen in place, she can't even say a word. Leo and Lunette that are usually mischief and joyful now have their faces darkened a bit. Guess they do share the same personalities.
Leo asked Rena, "Rena, if we have another chance to fight him. Will you join us to fight him?"
Rena is still shocked and can't fully catch what he said, "You mean…"
Lunette nodded and said, "Of course, we will beat that psycho."
I agree with them, but we're eliminated already. What can we do now? I really want to kick their butts. Damn, why does everything become chaos? Shouldn't it just be a festival? Only if I know he's the bad person, I would help the other academy students before. I know regretting something will not change anything. For now, I think we should find some solution.
The MC begins to speak again and says, "Sorry for making you wait! We've been negotiating with the school principals and the others! And the result is…Tyone Academy and Lionel Academy aren't disqualified since both of them were against the rules! You ask me why? The MC continued after that, "We will continue our festival tomorrow! Make sure you guys do not get late because tomorrow is the peak of our festival, you dumbass! We have Tyone Academy and Lionel Academy fighting each other tomorrow. And let's not forget about other academies, what kind of competition is on the next day? Just you wait, you fools!"
He is really carried away and kind of… annoying if I must say. He's no longer keeping his words anymore. Like what he wanted to say, he said it without any hesitation. But the strange thing is the audiences are getting along with him and continue cheering like today is the last day of this world. Really? It's not like he's going to control his words anymore at all.
We reached the front gate of the festival. The tension is heavy and gloomy, we don't even talk as much as we did before the tragedy.
Lunette speaks up to us, "So, should we go home and prepare for the next day?"
Rena nodded and answered, "Right, we should have ourselves prepared for a revenge."
Leo speaks up again, "Guess you both are right. It's not just a festival anymore when we have our teammates injured that much."
We nodded at him and separated on our way home. I continue on my way home with Lunette while searching for Big Sister Wave. I don't know if we can find her easily since she forgot to disguise. She is probably still surrounded by the audience around her.
Lunette said to me, "Luna, do you find her anywhere?"
I just shake my head to give a signal that I haven't found her anywhere. The place is full of crowds though. There are many shops selling their items around us, I didn't realize it until now. I think I'm kinda hungry now, my stomach grumbles a bit loud.
After that, I heard some steps coming over me and Lunette. The steps are getting louder and louder. Then suddenly, Big Sister Wave grabs our hands and runs in hurry.
"Luna! Lunette! Hurry up, this way," she says in a hurry.
What? Why is she in a hurry? When I looked back, there was a crowd running towards her. What the hell is that? I can hear them screaming, "Neon! Give us your handsign!" Some of them even say, "Neon! Can I have a handshake?" The situation is truly a chaos. The heavy tension and gloomy situation before disappeared a bit. Lunette is just laughing while continuing running with us.
She says, "Big sis, what are you doing? So dumb. Haven't you learned from your previous day?"
Big Sister Wave answers, "Shut up, Lunette. I have no time to disguise this day, okay? So don't complain and just follow me!"
I sighed a bit at their banter, but I can't help to find it funny as well. We continued running around the festival until we reached a private place. We are hiding behind the building with Big Sister Wave peeking at the situation secretly.
Big Sister Wave mumbles a bit, "Are they gone?"
Lunette nodded and said, "Yes, I think. I don't know what would happen if we were caught by the crowds."
Big Sister Wave just nodded and sighed before speaking up again, "So, should we take some dinner before we get home?"
I tilted my head and asked her, "How do you know I was hungry?"
She just smiled and answered, "Of course I know. I know much about my little sisters. And if I must say, I found you because your stomach grumbled before."
What? How is that even possible? I can't help but feel a surge of embarrassment. A slight blush appears on my cheeks. That's so embarrassing knowing people found me just because my stomach grumbled. They just laughed at my reaction as if they found it endearing. It's not that funny though… or maybe it is.
Big Sister Wave speaks again, "Let's set the jokes aside, what should we have for dinner?"
Again, Lunette answered her forcefully and cut off my words, "Just a pizza!"
Big Sister Wave smacks the back of her head again and asks me one more time, "Luna, what do you want to eat?"
Uhh.. I don't know what to do right now. Should I pick a pizza as well? But she probably won't accept it like last time we did since it was Lunette's demand. I looked around and searched for stands or restaurants that sell food. There are so many and I don't know which one I should pick.
Lunette speaks up at me again while rubbing the place that got smacked by Big Sister Wave, "Luna… Please choose pizza. I beg you."
She is really annoying. I don't know why our personalities contrast even though we are twins. It's weird that we were born from the same parents. Big Sister Wave just glared at her with a scary look. Damn, she looks so scary right now and I think Lunette noticed it too. She froze in fear right as she saw her face darkened a bit.
I spoke up to her, "Umm… I think I want to take a look for a while. Can I?"
She spoke to me again with a gentle smile, "Of course we can, Luna."
Lunette is about to reject her again but her glare is just too terrifying so she chooses to stay silent. How could she be brave enough at her? Then, we walked towards the nearby restaurants to find something to eat. Big Sister Wave grabbed our hands to make sure that I won't get lost or have Lunette causing any trouble. I think we both really are troublemakers in our own way.
We entered the restaurant and took a seat. The restaurant looks a bit fancy if I have to say, the decoration is pretty good. There is a candle in the middle of the table for each tables in the restaurant. It looks like a restaurant for the nobles, I was kinda worried if I would make anything wrong in this place. Although, I'm more worried if Lunette would do something stupid.
Big Sister spoke up to us, "So, what are you planning to do tomorrow?"
Lunette answered her with a serious tone, "Of course, we will kick his ass, right Luna?"
I nodded a bit and agreed with her. We can't just let him go like nothing happened like I always said. Although, I'm not sure if I can win alone if it becomes one-on-one. He's far too strong even for Lunette.
Big Sister Wave spoke to us again, "To be honest, there is no way you can win one-on-one with him."
Lunette was shocked by her statement and really thinks she can win against him alone. Of course we can't. Is she really serious about it? Where did she find that confidence from? Big Sister Wave just sighed at her behavior. She put her chin on her hand with an expression that looks like, "Seriously?"
I asked Lunette the same question as well, "Do you really think you can win against him one-on-one? Are you dumb or something?"
She pouts at me and starts yelling, "Hey! Don't you ever call me dumb! Of course I can win against him, you know?!"
I said to her again, "Of course you can't. Do you remember when he beat you up before?"
She pouts again and tries to defend herself, "Shut up! He didn't beat me, he beat Nio and Ray!"
I sighed at her stubbornness, I think she won't hear any single thing I'm about to say. I turn my head to Big Sister Wave that gives in as well as me at convincing Lunette. But I think I need to think about how to beat him as well. According to Big Sister Wave, even two of us fighting against him our chance to beat him isn't that much. After a few minutes of thinking, the waiter approached us and put the dishes on the table.
The waiter says, "Here's the dishes, young ladies. And this there is a special treats for you, Ms. Neon."
Big Sister Wave seems surprised by the sudden treatment. She doesn't know what it means. The waiter put the dishes to our table one by one. There is a salamander steak. What? Salamander steak? I looks around to seach for the culprit. And I can see Lunette's eyes are sparkling in happiness. Guess, we know who's the culprit. Me and Big Sister Wave look at the dish with disgusting faces. It looks so red and the meat looks weird. There are some vegetables just like usual steaks.
The waiter put the second dish, it was Big Sister Wave's dish. A toast with some vegetables and ham inside, and there is a fried egg as well inside. Compared to Lunette's, this one looks more fancy and delicious. They're so contrast if it is related to food.
I asked her, "Big sis, what is that?"
She shakes her head and answers, "I don't know. It looks like toast and seems delicious."
Lunette chimes in, "Oh, that's a sandwich."
Sand-what? Is that sand?
Lunette chuckles and seems to realize something, "That's a sandwich, a toast with vegetables, sauces, and ham inside."
I see, maybe I'm not wrong. Just like I described, it looks delicious and suits with big sister. Then, the waiter put mine on the table. Just a normal meat skewer, though there is some sauce that I don't know what it is. Again, the waiter put another dish on the table. This one looks so odd. Neither of us ordered this before.
Big Sister Wave speaks up to the waiter, "Excuse me, are you putting it at the wrong table?"
The waiter shakes her head and says, "No, miss. I'm not putting it at the wrong table. As I said, it was a special treatment for Ms. Neon."
The waiter said it again, there is no way they're wrong about it. Once the waiter opened the food cover, we were all surprised and confused at the same time. It was a cheesecake and chocolate cake on each side. It looks like a cake with sun and moon. One side covered my cheese and the other side was covered by chocolate.
I thanked the waiter by saying, "Thank you for this, we will give you some tips for this."
The waiter nodded and walked away from our table. She's so kind, they even give us something that we didn't ordered. I turn my face to my dish. But I can see Lunette quickly eats the food like a hungry person. That's not rare, she always like this. But, this is the first time I saw Big Sister Wave eating the cake with happiness on her face. She looks very enjoying it, almost endearing. Once we finished our dishes, we all walks back to our home.
Big Sister Wave speaks up to us, "The cake is so delicious, it makes me want to eat it again."
A wide smile appeared across her face. She looks so happy about it. Does she really like cake that much? But really, I was surprised when the waiter suddenly noticed that Big Sister Wave is Neon. Guess she was her fan as well.
Big Sister Wave suddenly speaks to us with a serious tone, "So, what are you both planning for tomorrow?"
Ugh…I don't know what to do. It's not like we can get stronger in one night, but we can't just give up either. Lunette seemed conflicted as well, it's rare to see her like this. Although, I know she will charge against Gyrus without thinking anything.
Big Sister Wave speaks again with a mischievous smile on her face, "Want to do some spar? Maybe you both can get some strategy to beat him."
Lunette smiles and speaks in a teasing tone, "Oh? Don't cry if I beat you again, big sis."
She just scoffed at her and said, "If you were able to beat me, you can beat him already, dumb. In fact, you never beat me in any single match."
That's right, Lunette is pushing her luck too much. Although, having a spar isn't a bad idea.
I said to her, "I want to have a spar."
Both of them were surprised by my sudden request. Of course, I'm not usually requested for something like this, and here I am. I don't know if it will be okay or not because tomorrow is the final match. We better not exhaust ourselves, but if we keep going like this, we won't win against him. Lunette nodded at me and glared at Big Sister Wave with strong determination. Big Sister Wave just chuckled and we continued our way home.
Once we arrived, we quickly changed our clothes and walked to the training site where big sister is waiting. Under the night sky, she looks so beautiful. I think today's sky look suits her.
Big Sister Wave turns her face to us and speaks, "Okay, girls. Let's have a spar. Both of you just face me."
We both nodded, guess Lunette knew already that she won't be able to beat her alone. We pull out our swords from the sheaths and charge towards her. As usual, she can dodge everything so easily like it was nothing to her. Lunette tries to slash her on the chest but she avoids it while I try to stab her from her blind spot. Of course, she keeps avoiding it.
Her movements are efficient, like a feather. I don't know how long we will last if she's serious. I tried to slash her legs, but she just raised her feet and stomped on my sword to make my sword stuck on the ground. Good, now my sword is stuck. Lunette uses this chance to attack her from behind. She swings her sword towards her back, but Big Sister Wave notices it and changes her attack's direction easily.
"Your pattern is too predictable, Lunette," she said.
Lunette smiles and speaks, "Is that so? Now, Luna!"
I spin my body and kick her in her stomach, though she blocks my kick. Right after she blocks it, Lunette quickly swings her leg to her face and tries to kick her face. But, Big Sister Wave moves quickly like a feather, we can't even hear her steps at all. In a short time, she is already behind Lunette and kicks her leg that supports her body. Then, Lunette fall forward with her face touching the ground. Why is it so hard to land a single attack on her?
Big Sister Wave just says, "You're still as weak as ever, huh? You need to predict your enemy's movement and find their weak point."
I tried to punch her from behind, but she avoided it without looking at me. Right after she avoided my attack, she pushed my back and made me fall on top of Lunette.
She speaks to me, "Not bad, but you need to make it more unpredictable. Your attacks are too konstan."
Ugh… She is way too strong. Guess the top five strongest hunters isn't just a handle name. I think she's more scary than Gyrus in some way. She's not even pulled out her sword yet or used her magic. No one uses an enchant on her as well. Even her physical body is just way too strong like a monster. I think even the monsters are scared of her.
Lunette yells at her, "Just give us a win, you MONSTER!"
Whoa, she really said it! When I look at Big Sister Wave, her expression darkens with a smile. I don't wanna know what will happen after this. She just walks closer with a scary face. The atmosphere suddenly became heavy and the situation became tense. Guess she just woke up the lion, or maybe a monster suits her more than a lion.
She speaks to Lunette with a scary tone, "What did you say, Lunette? I don't quite hear it, can you say it one more time?"
I can see the fear across Lunette's face and become pale. Her body trembles in fear and her confidence disappears for each step as Big Sister Wave comes to her. Rest in peace, Lunette. I guess I owe you a lesson to not make her angry.
Big Sister Wave speaks again, "Right, you two will keep training until the Phantasia starts again. There is no complaint, right?"
I open my mouth to speak, but right before my words come out she quickly glares at me and gives me a "Don't you dare to say anything" look. The words are stuck in my throat, I just stay silent and nod repeatedly. Damn Lunette, she dragged me to her problem again.
A few hours have passed, and we still can't land any single hit towards her. Are all of the hunters as strong as her? We keep trying and trying but always fail. I tried to strike towards her head while Lunette tried to swipe her legs, but she quickly avoided it. It's like no matter what we did she is just undefeated.
Big Sister Waves shrugs and speaks, "Come on, it's just one hour. I know you can do more than this, Luna and Lunette. Now, stand up already."
We just lay down on the ground and completely exhausted. Our breaths are labored and heavy. Lunette keeps trying to get up and attacking her no matter how tired she is. What are we lacking of? Techniques? Magics?
Right after I think about it, Big Sister Waves speaks, "Now, we finished our warmup. Let's begin the training, okay?"
What?! After all of this?! She just called it a warmup?! I mean, I know she's very strong, but she doesn't need to push us this far, right? I can see her begin to grab her sword but still sheathed. She points her sword at us and smiles.
She said, "Both of you may use your magic now. Just do your best against me."
Right, we haven't used our magic yet. But if she lets us use our magic, does it mean she will use her magic as well? I can feel the tense around us. The atmosphere is heavy, even though she is smiling. How can she smile cutely while pointing her sword at me like that?
She speaks again at us, "If you can't avoid this, you will never beat Gyrus, you know?"
Suddenly, our spirits rose up in our body after hearing that. She knows that we hate losing so we won't just accept our loss that easily. We stand up and glare at her with determination in our eyes.
She just said, "You know? You can do it if you try hard enough, right? Can't have my little sisters keep losing against me, can we?"
Ugh… She can be annoying sometimes just like Lunette. Suddenly I can see Lunette charged towards her with high speed. Seems like she is really annoyed by her. She activates her magic along with Big Sister Lunette. Their eyes quickly changed and they casted their magic. Her voice that enchanted by her magic clashed against Lunette's fire then become an explosion.
The field is covered by thick smoke, though Big Sister Wave is protected by her magic. How can she have time to create a wall of sound right before the explosion? In that time, Lunette keeps throwing fireballs against her. Each of her attacks are explosive and dangerous. She keeps throwing a barrage of fireballs towards from inside the smoke despite the effectiveness.
During that time, I suddenly appear behind her from the smoke and try to land a single kick on her face. She seems surprised by my sudden presence from behind. The smoke disappears as I try to attack her. This is the first time we managed to land her a strike. Right after I thought about it, her expression changed and became serious. Her face darkens and in no time, she's not in front of me anymore.
She grabs my hoodie and slams me to the ground very hard. I can't help but shocked by the sudden attack of hers. My vision became blurry right after she slammed me to the ground. My head feels so fuzzy, I can't think of anything right now. That's so hurt. After she finished me, she quickly disappeared from my sight again. Lunette quickly ran towards me while searching for Big Sister Wave.
"Luna," she shouted.
She takes a single step and then Big Sister Wave is standing beside her out of nowhere. She was surprised but unable to react to her. Without a second, she twirls Lunette and puts her in an upside down position before letting her fall onto the ground. We were wiped out, all of us were too damaged to move. My head is hurt, I don't know what is happening right now.
Big Sister Wave quickly notices that she took it too far. She quickly comes to us in worry. Her expression lightened again and worried.
She said, "Luna! Lunette! I'm sorry, I didn't mean to do such things."
She put us on the chair one by one and started checking our conditions. She shakes Lunette's shoulder and clean the dustes from her clothes. She can see Lunette still conscious then turns at me. She patted my cheek to keep me awake.
She keeps patting my cheek and speaks, "Luna. are you okay? Can you hear me? Open your eyes, come on."
Ugh… So hurt. My vision became clear slowly but surely, but my head is still fuzzy. She hit me so hard though. She keeps patting my cheek to make sure I'm still awake. Can you stop patting my cheek, big sister?
I tried to speak up with my weak voice, "Ugh… Yes, I'm still awake."
She sighed in relief and said, "Thank God, I don't know what I should do if you didn't awake."
Lunette speaks again, "One more round! This time we will beat you again!"
I want to say it's impossible since we were damaged too far. Even in our primary condition we can't win against her. She slaughtered us like we're nothing to her. We've been training together for years but we can't reach her level.
She speaks to Lunette, "No, let's just end it here. It's midnight, no more practicing until Phantasia starts again."
But Lunette keeps insisting even though we both are damaged. I know it's frustrating since we can't lay any single hit on her for years. I think I can try it a bit more.
Big Sister Wave sighed and kept trying to convince us, "No, no more training, you hear me little missy?"
I looked up at her and begged as well innocently, "Can we, big sister? Pretty please?"
She suddenly softens her expression but tries to reject it, "But Luna, we can't have you injured before the competition, right?"
I know she's right, but I don't wanna lose in that competition. We still want to defeat Gyrus and make him pay for what he did to Ray and Nio. I keep begging at her and she seems to have a hard time resisting it. I can tell she has a soft spot at me.
She sighed and gave in, "Okay, okay, just a bit more. Then, no more training."
After that, both me and Lunette stood up and began our training again. Round two of our spar, I don't think we will end up like before again. We charged at her with our magic activated, and so she is. During that time, we keep having a spar for a whole night. To be honest, we are just sparring non stop until the Phantasia almost starts. We're really lacking sleep right now. I don't think we got stronger just in one night.
