Chapter 11 - Out of prison

For the next few days, Seojin and Nikolai quickly became good friends, each having their own intentions.

On a Friday morning, Valentin stared at the eerie dark sky. He had a feeling that something bad was going to happen today. His phone rang violently. It was Ivan.

"Did you see the news?' his friend said hurriedly. It seemed like he was out of breath.

"What news?"

"That bastard got out of prison!" Ivan yelled.

"You mean Seojin's uncle? How did he get out?" he asked with a serious expression.

"Some higher-up got him out. He had connections with the higher-ups in the police," Ivan explained.

Valentin laughed helplessly. Who was the idiot who bribed him out of prison? Doesn't he know he'll have to face the entire Vronsky family? Or does he think that the only son of the Vronsky family was still a coward?

"Did the news spread out?" he asked.

"It's everywhere on the news platforms, even on social media."

Valentin sighed. Seojin wasn't going to be happy. Maybe it would've been easier if he got rid of Seojin's uncle.

Mr. Han, Seojin's uncle, breathed in the fresh air as he got out of prison. He raised his arms towards the sky, laughing maniacally. His dear nephew and that traitor judge were going to pay for what they did.

The first thing he did after getting out of prison was take out his phone and call someone.

"Hi, my dear nephew, how are you doing?"

Receiving the unexpected call, Seojin bit his inner lip in anger. How dare he call him after he planned to kill his parents? A metallic blood taste flooded his mouth.

"You f*cking bastard," Seojin spat out. He clenched his fists in anger.

The person on the other side of the call laughed. "Is this how you are going to talk to your uncle? We'll see each other soon, my boy."

Mr. Han ended the call. For the rest of the school day, Seojin's mind was elsewhere. After he got home, he sneaked into Valentin's bedroom and searched for his laptop. He wanted to make sure that the judge didn't help his uncle get out of jail. After all, he did overhear the judge being bribed by his relatives.

Knowing that Seojin wanted answers, Valentin let him go through his laptop without exposing him. Seojin didn't find anything particular inside the judge's computer or in his bedroom. Tired, he told Valentin that he was going to skip dinner and go straight to bed.

At night, Valentin woke up to get a glass of water. In the living room, he noticed Seojin's figure. He had a knife in his hands and stared at the bright moon outside. He seemed to be pondering whether or not he should kill someone. Holding a cold expression, he turned towards Valentin's approaching footsteps and asked, "Hyung, what should I do?" His voice trembled, like a lost kid.

Valentin hugged him and consoled, "I'll take care of everything, trust me."

Seojin nooded, deciding to trust the judge. He couldn't act rashly. If the judge doesn't succeed, he'll act then.

Early next morning, Valentin took out a business card. The two assassin women gave it to him after watching his heroic act at the auction event. They whispered to him that they were from an organization and that if he needed help, he could call them.

"Hello, who is this?" the woman on the phone asked.

"Hi, I'm Valentin Vronsky. I need your help," he replied.

"Oh, it's you! We met at the auction event. What do you need help with?"

"Can you help me kidnap someone?" Valentin asked carefully. He knew the women were part of the Rose Assassin Organization. Their members consisted of women, and they only accepted missions based on the target. They would never accept missions that concerned innocent people.

The woman laughed and asked, "How did you know we did that kind of work? Was it obvious?"

"It was just a lucky guess."

After getting the woman's approval, Valentin explained the situation to her. Listening to the judge's plan, the woman agreed to help.

In the afternoon, two assassins from the Rose Organization trespassed on Mr. Park's house and kidnapped him. They drove to an abandoned factory and tied the man to a chair. Waking up to a splash of cold water, the man panicked, making the chair wobble.

"Who are you? What do you want from me?" he yelled.

One of the women slapped the man to silence him. She hated it when the targets were loud. She spun her knife around and held it close to the man's throat.

"Just do as we say and you'll be able to get out of here alive."

It was too dark to see the people who kidnapped him. From their voice, he could tell that they were women.

"Money, I can give you a lot of money," the man stuttered.

The two women looked at each other and snickered. "Can you give us one billion dollars?" they asked.

"I don't have that much money," the man murmured.

"Then shut up!"

The two assassins threatened him to call the chief of the police and tell him to get Seojin's uncle back to prison. If he did well, they would let him live, but if he tried something, they would kill him without hesitation.

"Hi, Mr. Park. What can I help you with?" the chief of the police asked as soon as he got the phone call.

After the man told him that he wanted Mr. Han back in prison, the chief of the police sighed. Why do these rich people always change their minds?

"Do it as fast as possible!" Mr. Park added under the assassin's glare.

The man sweated even more as the call ended. They would let him go, right? The two women smiled maniacally and beat the man up at their client's order. They needed to beat him up into a pulp, until he couldn't even recognize himself.

Late at night, a horde of police cars drove out to catch Seojin's police. As he got caught, Valentin was hidden in the crowd, watching the angry man.

"Why are you taking me back?" he yelled. What was going on? He only got a few hours of fresh air, and he was going to that hellish place again. From the large crowd, he spotted the judge.

"You bastard! It was you, right?" the uncle yelled. trying to get closer to Valentin.

Valentin smirked and left, showing his back.

"When I get out again, I'm going to kill you!"

The police dragged him forcefully inside the car and drove back to the police station.

As Valentin arrived home, Seojin was waiting patiently in the living room. Hearing the footsteps, the kid rushed to the entrance and stared at him with hopeful eyes.

"He's back in prison again," Valentin said. He ruffled the kid's hair and smiled. It seemed that the boy had grown taller in the past month. All the food he stuffed inside his mouth was worth it.

"Hyung, you're the best!" Seojin hugged him. "But, what if he comes out again?" he asked.

"He won't get the chance to. Don't worry," Valentin replied.

His red eyes grew dark. It would be perfect if Seojin's uncle could suffer a bit of torture in prison. Shall he bribe some prisoners and tell them to give Mr. Han a hard time?
