Chapter 108 - Chapter 107 - The Death of the Three Goddesses of Destiny (III)

When Lachesis and Atropos, who was carrying a gagged Clotho, approached the Battlefield between the two Pantheons, the smile on their faces completely disappeared. They felt they passed through a watery film and saw a world completely white.

Looking up, both women spotted a golden throne with red upholstery. The majestic piece was surrounded by equally golden bone structures, arches, rods, and spirals, adorned with skulls of various races, from colossal giants to immense dragons.

However, the throne seemed to be missing half of it, as if it were still under construction, and it truly was; the process of Apotheosis was still happening.

"For goddesses of Destiny, you are quite predictable," Godwyn commented, letting out a touch of sarcasm. He crossed one leg over the other and rested his chin on his palm, as if bored. "I said I would bathe my throne in your blood. I am a man who keeps his promises."

Nothing in his expression showed surprise at the fact that the goddesses of Destiny had fled to Zeus. For Godwyn, that was inevitable. It was obvious that they would seek protection as soon as they realized that no god from any other pantheon dared to face him while he invaded pantheons as if it were nothing.

Looking at Clotho, who was tied and gagged, Godwyn showed a touch of contempt on his face. "It seems one of you is not afraid of death; that's admirable, although I can't say the same for you two, Atropos, Lachesis."

"Son of the One-Eyed." Atropos greeted Godwyn with a cold and threatening tone. "Get out of the way or face the consequences."

Godwyn seemed to hear something very funny. He held out his hand and, feigning an expression of fear, spoke with the strongest sarcasm he could muster in that tense moment. "I'm dying of fear; can't you see I'm trembling?"

"Killing us will only make you offend someone you don't want to offend. The River of Destiny is a being who doesn't like to be offended." Lachesis spoke, trying to threaten Godwyn more subtly than her older sister. She was afraid; the terror of feeling death up close was so terrifying that she wanted to run away at that moment.

As a goddess who had never faced anything like this in her life, this feeling was particularly despairing. If Athena were in her place, the woman wouldn't even show something like fear, perhaps only regret, but never fear of death.

The three goddesses of destiny were so used to being superior to all gods that they never thought something like this would happen in their lives. They were like a girl spoiled by her father all her life, who, when facing real life, would have a shocking reality check.

"Do you know one thing I detest?" Godwyn asked, but didn't expect an answer and answered his own question with an almost growling tone. "I hate being threatened by you, decrepit old women, who have one foot in the grave and the other on land."

Godwyn stood up on the Primordial Throne of Death. Destined Death appeared in his hand. The spear shone with a black glow like never before, as if eager to pierce the enemies who had caused its master so much anger.

The God of Order didn't move, but the spear did. The weapon seemed to cut the very fabric of space and time, reaching the target almost instantly. However, when it was about to pierce Atropos's head, the spear deviated from the primary target and hit the ground. The earth sank with the impact, and a one-kilometer crater formed below.

"Destiny, cause and effect." Godwyn commented with a touch of surprise. He felt that his spear had hit the target, but his eyes told him it hadn't. At the same moment, he understood. Atropos had transferred the cause and effect to the ground.

"I have to admit, that's a terrifying power. If I weren't strong enough, it wouldn't have been the ground that was hit, but myself." Godwyn said with a genuinely admired tone at the power of destiny. "However, this power has a limit. I want to see how many times you can deflect my attack."

"That's what a weak person would say, but you have to understand that the true power of death is not killing." Godwyn said with a smile. The more he studied his own Authority of Death, the more he felt that death was not so simple.

Instead of killing, true death means erasing someone from existence.

Pointing the spear at Atropos again, Godwyn's eyes shone like two gigantic suns. "Experience True Death."

Atropos felt all the hairs on her body stand up. The terror coming from her very soul prevented her from fleeing; she was paralyzed like a mere mortal before death. She could only look up, where she saw a pair of golden eyes looking at her as if she were an insect. A look she was used to giving to other gods and goddesses.

The most natural process in the world is fear turning into anger. That's what happened to Atropos. She became furious and used the Divine Position of Destiny with full force, not sparing a drop of divine energy. The old woman seemed to transform into a gigantic silver river that shone over the earth with its omnipresence and omniscience.

However, before Destined Death, all this turned into nothing. The spear crossed the river of destiny as if it were an ordinary river. Everything that was before the tip of the spear seemed to disappear, or rather, simply ceased to exist.

Atropos's eyes widened as a huge hole appeared in her chest. The divine energy turned into golden blood and fell onto the ground in large quantities.

"This is not possible!!!" She screamed as her body gradually disappeared, as if it were being erased. It was a slow process, but it was happening. Falling to the ground, she only felt a terrible cold running through her body. This cold made her lose all her senses.

She didn't understand why Godwyn could hit her, even though she was protected by the River of Destiny. The attack should have been deflected to another target according to the laws that govern destiny.

Honestly, it was quite terrifying. Feeling death running through one's body was not something everyone could remain calm about.

"Sister!" Lachesis finally reacted and ran towards Atropos, but when she took a step forward, Destined Death hit her back, impaling her alive. Lachesis's eyes widened, and she looked at her chest with an incredulous expression. She felt nothing, no sense of danger; it just happened.

Clotho, who was on Lachesis's shoulder, fell to the ground and spun a few times before stopping. Although she had accepted death, her eyes filled with tears, especially seeing her two sisters dying in front of her.

Godwyn appeared before the three goddesses of destiny and grabbed all three by the collar of their dresses. He dragged them like sacks of potatoes, climbing the steps of his throne step by step, leaving a trail of golden blood behind.

"I said I would bathe my throne in your blood." Godwyn said with a calm tone, sat on the throne again, and threw the three goddesses onto the steps. The golden blood ran over the steps, making them even more golden than they already were.

Clotho, the only one who was not yet injured and could speak normally, looked at Godwyn sitting on the throne and showed deep bitterness. This was pure humiliation. He could kill them at that moment, but he was humiliating them in this way.

Finally removing the gag from her mouth, Clotho spoke in a hoarse tone. "My sisters and I do not represent ourselves, but the River of Destiny. Humiliating us is the same as humiliating the River of Destiny. You will suffer an even worse death."

Godwyn looked down and stared at Clotho with a calm gaze and asked as if it were the most obvious thing in the world. "So?"

Clotho's eyes widened. He didn't seem to fear death, nor did he even consider it something scary. This shocked her. From mortals to gods, death has always been the most frightening thing. Whether you were a king or a beggar, death was something to fear more than anything.

But Godwyn simply had no fear of death. Yes, he valued his own life, but there was absolutely no fear of death in him, especially in this world, where the personifications of Authorities were immortal, only able to die when the universe was destroyed.

"I guess you don't know, but I am the Primordial God of Death, and even though I am in the process of apotheosis, I am immortal. And even if I weren't, I would kill you again without thinking twice." Godwyn said with a calm tone.

"You shouldn't have involved my son or daughter in my problems. Now you will suffer much more than you should." Godwyn said with a calm and deep tone.

Clotho, Lachesis, and Atropos showed terrified expressions seeing Godwyn's cold eyes. Specifically seeing the hundred-legged centipede being embedded in the dagger. They didn't know what that thing was, but the feeling of pure terror made them know it was not something friendly.

"I don't like killing, much less torturing, but what I'm going to do next, I'm going to enjoy." Godwyn said as he approached with the dagger in hand.
