Chapter 92 - Chapter 91 - Death of the Greek Gods (II)

"This place has turned into a divine meat grinder." Smelling the blood and seeing the crater-filled battlefield, Godwyn commented with a slightly surprised tone. It was the first time he had been on a divine battlefield between two pantheons, and he was surprised by the apocalyptic scene before him.

The border between the two pantheons had become a dead and lifeless place; red blood, body parts, and enormous craters made up the battlefield. The corpses varied in size; some were the size of normal humans, others the size of hills.

Thalia nodded her head and looked at the battlefield with a sigh. She still found it difficult that Godwyn's fake death could cause such a huge repercussion. It could be said that many died for Godwyn's plans to reach this moment.

But the price was enormous; the number of casualties was gigantic, especially among the minor gods, who served as cannon fodder on the battlefield. Even with the incentive of divine positions, the number of troops was decreasing at this stage of the war. Although becoming a god was tempting, they needed to be alive to use those benefits.

"These useless Greeks, even with such a great advantage, they couldn't recover the lost ground." Godwyn commented, seeing the barriers of different colors colliding in the sky. It was the actual border of both pantheons, but anyone could see that the Blue Barrier (Norse Pantheon) was devouring the Golden Barrier (Greek Pantheon).

Godwyn was truly upset with the Greek gods' lack of power; even without Bestla and Heimdall, the Greeks still couldn't advance, which was simply disappointing.

"It's a good thing I refused the throne; trying to change the Greek gods is the same as trying to change the universe. These gods would rather die than actually train." Thalia commented, shaking her head, feeling grateful for controlling her own greed.

"In comparison, the Norse gods and the Einherjar are simply weapons of war with no fear of death. I have to admit that, when it comes to combat power, your pantheon is superior."

Godwyn nodded his head, but it wasn't really surprising, especially knowing that the Nine Realms simply never had peace. Everyone trained and was baptized in the flames of war for hundreds of years.

Everyone was trained to be soldiers since they were mere children. If the Norse Pantheon couldn't defeat the Greek army, which was full of hedonistic and weak-willed gods, they might as well kill themselves and let the Greeks invade.

"Let's find Loki." Godwyn said, pulling the Cloak of Darkness gained from Nyx and covering his and Thalia's figures.

Honestly, it wasn't hard to find Loki, especially when the God of Mischief wanted to be found. Godwyn and Thalia found Loki in a spooky forest near the Norse Pantheon Border. The war had not reached this untouched piece of land.

The God of Mischief was around a bonfire, roasting what looked like a human arm over the flames. Godwyn's and Thalia's stomachs turned at the cannibalistic scene. The urge to vomit was so great that Thalia leaned on a tree and bent over while large amounts of saliva dripped from her mouth.

The smell of the burned divine flesh was delicious, but that made things even worse.

Godwyn gently stroked Thalia's back while pulling her hair back, preventing it from getting dirty with saliva. The Primordial God of Death's face was slightly pale, showing that even he was not well in the face of the scene.

Looking at the spot where a large amount of saliva fell to the ground, Loki, despite not seeing Godwyn and Thalia, smiled and ate a piece of the arm with a pleased look on his face. There was a reason why the Jotuns were considered barbarians. Cannibalism was not really rare in Jotunheim, especially with the tradition of devouring enemies to gain their strength.

Taking off the Cloak of Darkness and revealing himself, Godwyn looked coldly at Loki, who ate the arm of a god as if it were a delicious rib. "Could you stop eating?" He said with a calm tone, yet full of indifference and a slightly murderous intent.

"No." Loki showed his teeth stained golden-pale with divine blood and spoke with a terrifying smile on his lips.

At that very moment, a spear hit the spot behind Loki; a cut appeared on Loki's cheek, and divine blood dripped down his cheek.

"Do you think I'm asking? It's an order, Loki." Godwyn said with a majestic tone; his divine aura began to surround his body, the dead appeared behind him while the very concept of Order was distorted to the extreme.

Despite feeling fear, Loki continued to smile, but the hairs on his body stood up to the extreme; his extremely keen senses were alerting him that he was facing a dangerous monster capable of killing him.

With a movement of his hand, all the food disappeared as if it had never existed. He raised his hands and spoke with an amused and playful tone. "I surrender, Your Majesty."

Godwyn looked coldly at Loki for a while and then retracted his divine aura and collected the Destined Death Spear. "One day your pranks will kill you; I hope you die smiling like the madman you are." He said with a calm tone, but anyone could see that he really wanted to kill Loki at that moment.

Loki smiled even wider and bowed elegantly as he looked directly into Godwyn's eyes and spoke. "I hope so, Your Majesty. Nothing better for a clown like me than to die smiling."

He was an agent of chaos; he himself seemed to personify everything bad about the Norse pantheon. Loki's reputation was not gained casually; everyone suffered greatly at his hands before he earned the name Trickster.

"Are you okay, babe?" Not bothering to speak to Loki, Godwyn turned and asked with a worried tone. He didn't blame Thalia at all for showing such a strong reaction. Who could remain calm in front of a cannibal devouring a being that looked like a human?

He was not an emotionless psychopath, and neither was Thalia.

"I detest your repulsive existence." Thalia wiped her mouth with her arm and looked at Loki with a look full of fury. At that moment, she understood why Godwyn, who was polite to almost everyone, could be such an asshole when it came to Loki.

This god was truly detestable to the extreme. If she didn't need him, Thalia would wish to turn around and never meet such a despicable being as Loki again.

Loki's smile grew, reaching his ears, making him even more terrifying. He didn't care what the gods thought of him and never would. He was free and could never be controlled; an agent of chaos like him only wanted to create more chaos and be happy.

"It's an honor to have the distaste of a beautiful queen." Loki responded to Thalia's words with a malicious smile on his lips.

"Get straight to the point and tell me the situation on the battlefield." Godwyn didn't want to waste time with Loki and spoke with a calm tone.

Loki shrugged and talked about what he had done and the situation on the battlefield.

Godwyn couldn't help but be shocked to learn that Thor was actually getting crazier and crazier, and according to Loki's words, the God of Thunder was hallucinating about him!

A complex look flashed in Godwyn's eyes. He didn't expect Thor to really feel guilty to the point of going crazy for thinking he killed him. This showed that Thor truly loved him, which made Godwyn's feelings even more complex.

He hated Thor, of that he had no doubt, but Thor treated him like a true brother. Although Godwyn took a few hits from him, it was training, and the God of Thunder never crossed a line, to the point where he really followed Thor everywhere when he was just a child.

"The love between brothers is so beautiful." Loki said with a smile, looking at the complex emotions in Godwyn's eyes. He liked to see that; brothers killing each other was the best thing in the world, and he would be watching the whole conflict in the VIP area in the future.

As soon as Thor dies at Godwyn's hands, his daughter, Jormungandr, the Serpent that Circles the World, will be able to survive Ragnarok.

Godwyn looked coldly at Loki and could imagine Loki's thoughts.

"I want you to draw the attention of the Greek gods without the Norse noticing anything." Godwyn said; his conspiracy began.
