The fight didn't last long between either Zoro and the swordsman of Buggy's group or Luffy and Buggy. Buggy's swordsman was just a cheap entertainer compared to Zoro since he wasn't very well trained.
Luffy versus Buggy…well Buggy had been kicking it back and taking it easy for the last few years while Luffy was being trained by a yonko and her crews strongest for the last few years with a second yonko and his crew making frequent visits and helping train him.
Even if Buggy knew Haki, which of course he did there was no way in hell Roger or Silvers Rayliegh would let him be apprentices and cabin boys on the roughest seas without learning about it, his years of taking things easy had deteriorated his skills.
Luffy however was at the top of his game and his skills were sharp after years of training with yonkos and their crews.
"You're strong, much stronger than I thought you'd be." Buggy said after he was being tended to by his crewmates who had some medical knowledge.
"Was trained by Papa Shanks when he visited but mostly trained by Papa Kata, Mama Ama, Mama Branch, and Papa Peros and my aunts and uncles." Luffy said cheerfully.
"Ah. Understandable if they're New World pirates." Buggy nodded making Luffy nod his head.
"You should get back into training against others who are at least on your level again Uncle Buggy. Wouldn't want a marine to get in a lucky hit against you cause you weren't prepared for anyone Grand Line level." Luffy said making Buggy scowl slightly, the Grand Line was nuts and he had his fill of it enough when sailing with the Roger pirates to Laugh Tale. But he was much weaker than he had been when he was just a cabin boy.
"I'll see about it." Buggy said before affixing a curious look on his face as he glanced at his apparent nephew.
"So if Shanks wasn't the one who mainly raised and trained you…where did you grow up?" Buggy asked curious and making Luffy grin.
"Whole Cake Island! With Baa-chan and my other mamas and papas." Luffy said which meant nothing to most of Buggy's crew and Nami or Zoro but Buggy winced at that.
"Big Mom? That old hag?" Buggy asked making Luffy give him a bright smile that had malice in it.
"Careful what you say about my baa-chan. She's a lot better than how Mama Ama and Papa Peros say she became." Luffy said making Buggy hold his hands up placatingly and hoping his nephew didn't decide to kick his ass again only with less restraint.
"I'm just calling it how I remember her last. Last time I saw her she was pissed at the captain and trying to kill us." Buggy said making Luffy nod slightly.
"Yeah can't blame you for that then. She's gotten better though! Last time she had Hunger Pains no one got hurt even!" Luffy said brightly since he had been the one to discover how to stop her during her hunger pains aside from giving her what she wanted. The rest seemed stunned that she hadn't been able to steal his life span for some reason but he didn't understand why so he was just focused on how he had managed to snap her out of it.
"I saw one of them. How did that happen?" Buggy asked making Luffy grin wider.
"A giant fist to the nose snapped her out of it." Luffy said cheerfully.
"Ah yes that makes perfect sen…that makes no sense at all! She has a body made of iron! How'd you manage to do that?!" Buggy demanded looking stunned and a bit pale.
"Shishishi. I learned some tricks when visiting Uncle Kaido and Yama-o!" Luffy said laughing and Buggy paled to a sickly white color while no one else seemed to know who that was.
"Ah of course that makes sen…You call the drunken dragon Kaido UNCLE?!" Buggy demanded making Luffy nod his head happily.
"Yeah he came to visit baa-chan once while I was with Papa Peros and he took a liking to me after a few words! I went to visit him and Yama-o at least once every two months!" Luffy said brightly as if it were a common every day thing to talk about.
"So you're friends or considered family by three out of four yonko?" Buggy asked in disbelief as he stared at Luffy.
"Oh I know the old mustache man too. He's my big brothers new dad." Luffy said shrugging and making Buggy blink and then pinch his nose.
"Of course. Dare I ask about the old dad?" Buggy asked wondering just how screwed up the family tree of his honorary nephew was.
"Eh we're step brothers who adopted each other when we were little if that's what you mean. If you really want to know about his old dad Ace-nii hates him. He died before Ace-nii was born but he still hates your old captain cause of everyone's reaction." Luffy said and let it be said that Buggy was not at all slow mentally, not often and usually it's only when he's taken off guard or scared.
He immediately pieces what his old captain had to do with his nephews big brother. His face went through several emotions at once. Shock, confused, and then elated. So there was still a piece of his beloved captain around? Huh…that was good to know even if the kid hated his father.
"I'd like to meet him. Even if he hates captain I'd still like to meet him." Buggy said after a moment and Luffy grinned at him.
"Well for that I have a plan without you having to join us or anything like that!" Luffy said grinning and motioning Buggy closer and the clown leaned in and then grinned at the rather clever plan.
After all there was nothing unusual about a pirate group chasing after another pirate group in order to take them out when they're weak or something.
