Amande was ready to cry as she held the little boy who had already done so much for her family without even realizing it. He was calling her mama. He was calling her mama and not just Ma like he did sometimes in his sleep. No he was awake and conscious and knowingly called her his mama.
A little one. A little one of her own now. She had a little one of her own. Sure he called Red Hair and Beckman his dads but he was calling her Mama!
"Shishishishi! Now I've got two dads and at least one mama but maybe more!" Luffy, her sunshine, said grinning and he looked happier than usual as he nuzzled against her. What?
"Maybe more?" Amande asked wondering what he meant by maybe more mamas.
"Yeah! You and Branch and Smo all act like how Pudding says mamas do to me. That makes all three of you my mamas right?" Her sunshine asked her with such innocence and happiness that Amande couldn't possibly be upset with him. Besides after hearing how his grandfather had treated him and then some rather worrying things he had said about the Mountain Bandits and his Ace-nii…this little sunshine child deserved all the love in the world.
"I don't mind being your mama at all. But you have to ask them if they want to be your mamas too." Amande said and Luffy nodded his head but he was still grinning and cuddling into her, not that she minded.
"Okay! I can ask Pero and Kata if they're my dads too! They act a lot like Shanks and Benn do!" Luffy said and Amande…honestly wasn't surprised. Katakuri-nii-chan loved all of his younger siblings and most kids even if he was scared to ever let them see his mouth. But after the way Luffy reacted to Poire and Bassakrate's mouths Amande knew her older brother had nothing at all to worry about. Perospero-onii-san loved kids too, giving them candy whenever he saw them and running the largest orphanage in Tottoland…it was no surprise that he took to the little one that changed their mother for the better and seemed to brighten up everyones lives.
"You can ask them later. Right now how about we get you dry and ready for bed? Remember that there's no training or hunting tomorrow cause we have the tea party to go to." Amande said and she had already seen the outfit that Brulee had made for him, and honestly she thought it was amazing that he was going to wear the outfit while calling her mama. If she didn't know better she was sure that her younger sister could see the future too just like their big brother could.
"Okay mama!" Luffy said happily although he was a bit upset that there would be no training tomorrow. He liked training.
"Relaxing and having down time is just as important as training is Sunshine. If you don't rest your body would break down, you have to rest to get stronger." Amande said noticing how he was a bit upset and trying to reassure him.
"Think of it like when you train. When you're training your arms get really hard and tense right? Well that's your whole body, if you keep them tense all the time then it'll hurt a lot. Knowing when to train and knowing when to rest is an important skill, especially for a pirate. Sometimes a day off is a very good thing." Amande said as she began to dry the boy off with a fluffy towel.
"Okay mama!" Luffy said beaming up at her and her heart soared at him calling her mama again as she finished drying him off and began to slip a shirt styled after Perospero-onii-san over the boys head, letting him pull on a skirt cause he found them comfy to sleep in. Besides it wasn't like her eldest brother didn't wear dresses and skirts occasionally.
"Good sunshine." Amande said patting his head before he put his hat back on while she began to dry herself off, having long since been clean considering she let Luffy play in the water for nearly an hour before washing his hair.
Luffy waited for her like he usually did, and held up her hat for her once she was dressed in her sleepwear.
"Thank you baby." Amande said taking the hat and patting Luffy's head as she put her hat on and attached her sword to her waist, Luffy's own tiny by comparison wooden sword being worn against his back.
"I see there's a clean little sunshine running around. Wiwiwiwi." Brulee laughed slightly although she had a fond smile as she looked at Luffy as he and Amande left the bathing room to visit the kitchen for a quick snack before bed.
"Branch!" Luffy immediately lunged at Brulee and wrapped himself around her legs, making her laugh as she smiled fondly down at the boy.
"Will you be my mama too?!" Luffy asked with all the tact and hesitation of a rampaging Awakened Zoan. Amande saw Brulee's face look purely stunned for a half a second before she beamed.
"Well of course I will sunshine! Who wouldn't want to be mama to such a pure little sunshine?" Brulee asked tickling the boy and then giving Amande a curious glance.
"Mama Ama did you hear that? Branch said she'll be my mama too!" Luffy was pleased as could be as he grinned at Amande who smiled back.
"I heard. Now all that's left for you to ask is Smoothie-chan, Katakuri-nii-chan and Perospero-onii-san." Amande said making Brulee blink once and then twice before she sighed fondly and set the boy down so he could run off to find either his targets or Pudding who was waiting on her, in her own words, 'bestest friend in the whole ocean' to get done with his bath since she took hers earlier.
"He's being adopted by the whole crew isn't he?" Brulee asked her sister as Luffy raced off and they sedately continued towards the kitchen, all of the Homies knew to keep an eye out for Luffy just in case and he would definitely find his way to the kitchen in no time. As soon as he was doing whatever he set his mind to.
"Well can't blame him when you work in his past and then the description he was given of what moms and dads act like. Especially after you factor in how most of us have taken to him over the last few days." Amande said lighting a cigarette and taking a drag of it, but she was still smiling. Brulee had seen her older sister smile more in the last week than she had in years, and she was grateful that Luffy was able to make her aloof sister smile again.
"Just wait until Red Hair gets here and hears Sunshine calling us mom and some of our brothers dad." Brulee said grinning and she would definitely make sure she had multiple camera Mushi's ready to catch Shanks reaction.
"Wait until tomorrow at the tea party when mama hears it." Came Amande's rejoinder and Brulee snorted slightly at that before snickering. She was going to need more Mushi's.
The two women heard a startled noise and then what sounded suspiciously like their favorite big brother crying and talking and exchanged smiles.
"Sounds like he found Katakuri-nii." Amande said making Brulee nod her head, and both women were glad that the sunshine saw absolutely nothing wrong with Katakuri's teeth and in fact were happily talking about how cool they were when they rounded a corner.
The two smiled at the sight of Katakuri with his scarf down for once and he was crying and looked happy as Luffy happily babbled about how cool his new papas teeth were.
Yeah the Big Mom pirates were definitely wrapped around their Sunshine's finger. And if anyone hurt him or made him cry? Well…
The very protective new mamas and papas would make them pay for each tear in blood.
And the less said about how his new grandmother would react the better.
