Chapter 5 - A Contract Of Control

Elina looked at her husband and said,

"John, how can I tell her the truth? You know our boss—she'll reject Simran the moment she sees her."

Then taking a sip of water, she added,

"I called Simran to Dubai just to protect her. I told her she would work here as a nanny for some kids. Because if I had told her she would be working as a secretary in some office, she would've never agreed to come. And now that I've seen her in those traditional Indian clothes, I'm 100% sure the boss will never accept her as a secretary. I need to do something so that the moment the boss sees her, she appoints her."

John, making her sit on a chair, said gently,

"Relax, darling. Don't take so much stress—it's not good for your health. We'll figure something out together. For now, let's think about how to convince Simran to agree to this job."

A few moments later, Simran walked out of her room, dressed in a salwar suit. John and Elina were already seated.

Simran sat on the chair next to Elina. Elina handed her some food, and Simran started eating. The three of them ate quietly.

Then Elina looked at Simran and said,

"Simmi, there's something I need to tell you."

"Yes, Elina, go ahead. I'm listening," Simran replied, looking at her.

Before Elina could speak, her phone rang. When she saw the screen, it said "Boss."

She excused herself and quickly went to her room to take the call.

"Yes, Boss. You…?"

The voice on the other end cut her off,

"Elina, come to my office within half an hour."

With that, the call ended.

Elina immediately got ready, wore her jacket, picked up her handbag, and came out of the room. Looking at John, she said,

"John, that was the boss. I need to go."

"No worry. I'll drop you off and head to my work from there," John replied while putting on his coat.

Then Elina turned to Simran and said,

"Sorry, Simmi, but I have to go right now. We'll meet at night. Until then, stay home and relax. And since tomorrow's Friday and my office will be closed, we'll go out and shop. Okay?"

Simran smiled and said,

"Yes, Elina. Don't worry about me. I'll be fine."

Just then, Elina remembered something. She pulled a mobile phone from her bag and handed it to Simran.

"Simmi, take this phone. My number and John's are already saved in it. If anything happens, call us. And yes, the TV remote is in that cabinet and snacks are in the fridge. Feel free to eat. Okay, bye!"

"Bye! And don't worry, I will be fine," Simran smiled as she closed the main door.

RRR Industries

Riyan had arrived straight from the airport to his office. Seeing him, all the staff stood alert and greeted him.

But Riyan ignored them and walked straight to his office room.

There, waiting for him, was his mother—Mrs. Anita Raichand.

Seeing her, Riyan smiled and hugged her.

"Mom, what a pleasant surprise! I missed you."

"I missed you too, my boy," she replied.

Mrs. Anita Raichand, dressed in a black formal suit, looked very young—though she was clearly over 50. Her short black hair, glowing face, and confident attitude made her presence commanding.

Riyan sat in the head chair of his office. Meanwhile, Akhil, who was standing behind, swallowed nervously after seeing Mrs. Raichand.

"Hello, madam. Good afternoon. Shall I order something for you to eat?" he asked while straightening his tie.

Ignoring Akhil, Mrs. Raichand turned to Riyan and said,

"So, Riyan, I hope you still remember our deal?"

Riyan looked at her, confused.

"Deal? What deal? Mom, I don't remember anything," he shrugged.

Getting up from the sofa, folding her arms with attitude, she said,

"Fine, since you don't remember, let me remind you. Before going to India, you signed a contract with me—that within three months of arriving in Dubai, you would marry a girl of your choice. If not, then you'll have to marry a girl of my choice. Only then will the property your grandfather willed to you be transferred to your name."

Riyan frowned and looked at her, annoyed.

"Stop it, Mom. You know very well that I'm Grandpa's favorite. That's why he wrote more than half of his property in my name. Please don't bring up this clause again just to create problems for me. You know me—I'm not interested in marriage."

Mrs. Raichand smiled and said,

"Mr. Riyan Raichand, perhaps you're forgetting that I'm still the biggest shareholder of this company. You can't defy me. You signed the agreement, so you have to accept it. Or you'll have to deal with my lawyer."

Giving him a warning glance, she turned to leave. She had just reached the door when she turned back again and said,

"Have dinner at home tonight. Your dad wants to talk to you."

With that, she left.

Riyan, fuming, made a call from his phone and said angrily,

"Come to my office."
