Does not exist?
When those words appeared, even Leon Lake's eyes twitched slightly.
He finally understood the source of that strange, creeping feeling.
It was the anomalous effect of SCP-055ā
The anomaly that can make you forget it exists.
---
The livestream audience was equally stunned.
Anomalies of this nature⦠actually existed?
Too bizarre. Too dangerous.

S.H.I.E.L.D. Headquarters
> "No one knows who recovered it. No one remembers how. Even its original form is forgottenā¦"
Nick Fury's gaze locked on the screen.
SCP-055 didn't have the destructive physical might of SCP-682, nor the looming apocalyptic dread of SCP-2317.
But this⦠this was something else.
A thing that could warp cognition without a traceāits fear factor rivaled any Keter-class monster.
Because no one could know how many people it had already affected.
---
Antimeme.
Fury rolled the term around in his mind.
He knew memesāinformation patterns that could spread abnormal effects once understood.
Most of the time, the medium carrying a meme was harmless until the information itself was processed.
But antimemes?
If the name was literal, they were the oppositeā
Information patterns with self-shielding properties.
Concepts that prevented themselves from being spread or remembered.
And SCP-055 was a perfect example.
---
The screen updated with new data:
> [All of these facts are periodically rediscovered by readers of this document, usually by accident, causing severe alarm. This alarm lasts only minutes before being forgotten.]
[A large amount of scientific data has been recorded about SCP-055, but it cannot be studied.]
[Multiple attempts to destroy or relocate SCP-055 from Site-19 have failed for reasons unknown.]
[SCP-055 may pose a serious physical threat, and could have killed hundredsāyet we have no way of knowing. It clearly presents a massive memetic/psychic hazard and is therefore classified as Keter.]
---
The chat went wild:
> "Recorded⦠but can't be studied?!"
"So it makes people forget its originality? That's insane."
"The worst part is you don't even know what you've forgotten. Has it killed anyone? Caused breaches? No way to tell."
"What if the door's open right now? What if someone opened it and forgot?"
---
S.H.I.E.L.D.
"Memetic⦠Antimemeticā¦" Fury repeated.
And then his eyes narrowed.
SCP-055's very existence was almost beyond belief.

On Screen
Leon Lake lowered the SCP-055 file after a long silence, staring at the open containment door.
After a pause, he stepped forward and shut it.
Then he took out his phone.
> "ā¦This is the Overseer."
The supervisor's voice came through.
> "I'd like information on SCP-055," Leon said plainly.
> "What number?"
> "Object 55. Contained at Site-19."
There was a pause. Then the Overseer replied, baffled:
> "I⦠don't know what you're talking about. We don't have a 55."
The Marvel audience erupted in disbelief.
---
S.H.I.E.L.D.
Nick Fury's breath caught. Even the Overseer had forgotten?
---
Leon's grip on the phone tightened.
> "I'm at Site-19 right now. The door to SCP-055's containment was open."
> "ā¦Ah?" The Overseer sounded genuinely confused. "I⦠don't know."
> "Okay. Then do you remember if containment items 2 through 100 exist?"
> "What isn't⦠Oh! Yes, they all exist."
Leon exhaled in relief.
> "So you remember now?"
But there was only silence. Thenā
> "No. I mean, I don't know what it is, but I know it exists. It's something you can't remember⦠and it's Keter-class."
The livestream chat relaxedāat least the archives still held the information, even if memories didn't.
---
Then Leon's expression shifted. His voice slowed.
> "ā¦What is Keter-class?"
The entire Marvel audience froze.
Even the Overseer's tone jumped in alarm:
> "Project 55!"
> "Project⦠what?"
> "Doctor, you just said you were inside SCP-055's containment!"
Leon looked upāsaw the number 55 on the doorāand his face hardened.
> "Right. I've been affected too."
---
In S.H.I.E.L.D., the silence was absolute.
Nick Fury and his agents could only stare at one another, wide-eyed.
