Chapter 3: The Command System
The rain continued to pour relentlessly. Kin stumbled aimlessly along the sidewalk. His white shirt was soaked, clinging to his thin, trembling frame, not just from the cold, but from the anger and despair churning within him.
He stopped in front of a bar-cum-pub. Red neon lights reflected on the puddles on the ground. Its name was "The Devil's Advocate." What a darkly ironic name.

Kin pushed open the door. The faint smell of cigarettes and alcohol hit his nose. He walked to the bar counter and ordered the strongest drink the bartender could find.
Glass after glass of whiskey was downed. Its bitter taste did nothing to lessen the bitterness in his heart. Rin's mocking face replayed over and over in his mind. His brain felt hot, as if on fire.
"If only I had power... just some kind of power..." He gently slammed his fist on the counter.
And in that very instant... the instant his hatred and desire for revenge peaked...

A clear sound, like an app notification, rang out distinctly in his head.
Kin froze, looking left and right for the source of the sound, but found nothing unusual.
