Chapter 1 - THE BEGINNING OF LIFE

"What happened? I thought I died..."

I try to recall what happened and how I got here.

I was sure I wasn't going to survive that.

Now, I find myself completely naked with trees all around me.

"It looks like I'm in a forest," I say quietly.

I glance around, trying to find something to use as clothing.

After some time, I manage to find a giant leaf, about the same size as my body. I use it as a shirt and pants.

"I think this will do for now. I need to find a place to stay."

Suddenly, I saw a bird as big as a plane fly past me.

"Woah... what the hell is this world?"

I paused and took a moment to organize my thoughts.

'I know I got reincarnated, but I don't even know what kind of world this is.'

When I was a child, I always read stories about heroes slaying dragons, saving nations, or ghosts possessing people and causing chaos.

"Am I the protagonist? No way. A protagonist doesn't wake up naked."

I just laughed it off.

I've been walking around for a while now, and I haven't seen a single human or animal, except for that giant bird. It was like this place was completely empty.

Then, I spotted a river. I walked toward it and knelt down to drink.

Sound of drinking water

"I feel refreshed!"

I washed myself in the river and set some stones as a pillow since it was getting dark. I was confident no other animals lived nearby.

Stomach growls

I still hadn't seen any animals. What am I supposed to eat? I can't just eat anything I find. What if it's poisonous?

"Ahhhh… I can't sleep."

"I need to eat."

Starving, I followed the river so I wouldn't get lost. After walking for a while, I finally found something.

"A mushroom? Really? Fuck this life..."

It was glowing blue, nearly two feet tall, with white spots and a soft blue aura around it.

Stomach growls louder

"AHHHHH!"

'I can't take it anymore.'

I grabbed the mushroom and returned to where I had set up the camp.

I stared at it, still mesmerized by how beautiful and massive it was.

"Can I eat this?" I wondered.

'I'm going to die if I don't eat. Might as well risk it now.'

"No more thinking. Let me eat you."

Chewing sounds

Halfway through eating it, I suddenly felt dizzy.

My head spun. My body felt heavy. Then everything went dark.

...

I begin dreaming of myself dancing with the mushroom.

"You look so tasty," I say as I gently grab the top of its cap.

It feels like the mushroom is blushing, looking at me shyly.

I twirl around, holding it by the top, moving in rhythm with an imaginary song.

"Do you mind if I... pull you closer?"

I draw it near to my face. As I stare deeper into it, the mushroom seems to blush even more.

It was glowing blue before, but now its color shifts turning pink, then reddish, like it's flustered.

I lean in, slowly, bringing my face right up to its soft surface.

And then, I whisper:

"Let me eat you."

I begin devouring it, bite by bite, until nothing is left.

I sit back, completely satisfied.

To honor its sacrifice, I gently place a flower where it once stood.

When I woke up, I noticed something strange.

My body was jacked. I had gained a lot of muscle, and my black hair now had streaks of white.

I was completely confused. I had no idea what was happening… but I knew one thing for sure.

It all started when I ate that mushroom.

"Fuck, I shouldn't be eating weird stuff!"

I began running around, and surprisingly, it felt effortless. My body moved like it was light as a feather.

'Did I gain this ability from that mushroom?'

I stopped for a moment to think.

'Maybe… maybe it was because I made the mushroom blush. In exchange, it gave me some kind of super strength.'

I started laughing at the thought.

Funny enough… that's how I died.
