Chapter 7 - [7]. Little Bii’er Wakes Up

The night slowly receded. The full moon no longer hung high in the sky—it slipped quietly behind the distant mountains, half-hidden by their silhouette.

Where the sky met the ridgelines, a faint glimmer of white appeared. Soon, golden rays of light streamed through the gaps between the leaves, dappling the forest floor with a warm glow.

Chirrrp, chirrrp…

Insects began to call as dew collected atop leaves, round and glistening. The drops gathered until, under gravity's pull—

Plip!

One fell to the ground.

Snoooore~ zz...

A little boy snored softly, his lips occasionally smacking as he mumbled in his sleep.

Lying next to him was a small girl—completely unclothed.

Her black hair spilled over the boy's chest. Her skin was pale and soft, her little hands wrapped around his left arm. Her head rested against his shoulder as she slept peacefully, breathing gently.

"Yawn..."

Ausbi'er raised her chubby little hand to cover her mouth as she yawned.

"Hmm? Why am I not wearing clothes? And why does my whole body feel sore and weak?"

She blinked groggily, trying to remember what had happened.

She recalled going to the toilet last night—and then, nothing. Somehow, it was already morning.

And where were her clothes?

Her head was full of questions.

She looked around and saw massive footprints all over the place. Some trees were snapped halfway up their trunks, others uprooted completely. A thick layer of ash blanketed the surroundings. Far-off mountains had been blasted apart, reduced to rubble.

The entire landscape looked like it had been through a war.

"A battle happened here?"

Then she looked to her side.

"Huh? Who's this filthy little kid?"

She spotted a boy lying next to her, clothes in tatters, upper body covered in bruises and injuries.

"Gross! Why is this dirty boy sleeping next to me?!"

She scrunched her nose and frowned, clearly annoyed. Raising her palm, she began to gather energy—a dense blue ki orb forming above her hand as the pressure rapidly intensified.

But just as she was about to fire, the boy rolled over.

His head turned toward her.

His face was smeared with a mix of dirt and dried blood, but beneath that, the outline of his features looked… familiar.

"Why does he look like... my Kaso-gege?"

Her eyes widened.

"Kaso-gege?!"

The ki orb in her hand immediately fizzled out.

Her eyes welled up with tears. She rushed over and cradled Kaso in her arms, holding him close to her chest.

Tears streamed freely down her chubby cheeks.

"Kaso-gege, what happened to you?!" she cried out, heartbroken.

She held him tightly, letting him lean on her chest.

To her knowledge, there was no one on this planet stronger than Kaso. So how could he possibly be this injured?

The more she thought about it, the more confused—and distressed—she became.

Her tears dropped onto Kaso's lips.

"Mm…?"

Kaso slowly opened his eyes.

His body, battered and bruised, was now tightly wrapped in Ausbi'er's arms. She wasn't holding back in the slightest—in fact, she was squeezing tighter and tighter.

"Hssss—!"

The pain made him suck in a sharp breath.

"Bii'er, let go! You're crushing me!"

"Ah?"

She blinked, stunned. Then she quickly released her grip, realizing what she was doing.

"Kaso-gege, who hurt you like this?!"

Her expression darkened, fierce and angry.

In her mind, the only time Kaso had been this badly injured was when Nappa beat him half to death. And now it was even worse!

"I'm fine… It'll heal in a couple of weeks," Kaso murmured, resting his face against Ausbi'er's bare chest, taking in her faint fragrance as he exhaled.

"Who did this to you? Tell me! I'll get revenge for you!"

She hugged him tighter again, furious and protective.

With his nose buried in her soft chest, Kaso casually rubbed his cheek against her and smiled wryly.

"Think about it—who on this planet could possibly beat me? Don't you remember anything from last night?"

"Last night...? I was… going to the toilet, right?"

Ausbi'er tilted her head, confused.

"And what did you see while you were there?"

Kaso's face twitched. She really had no memory of it!

"Um… I saw a big, round moon."

"Wait! The moon?! That means… I turned into a Great Ape?!"

She froze.

Every Saiyan on Planet Vegeta knew—never look at the full moon, or you'll transform into a giant, mindless ape.

If that's the case, then…

"Kaso-gege… don't tell me I was the one who hurt you…"

Kaso didn't want to admit it—but he nodded.

Upon seeing his confirmation, Ausbi'er burst into tears again, wailing even louder.

"I'm so stupid! I even attacked my own Kaso-gege!"

She had no idea that if she hadn't stopped her final stomp last night, Kaso would've been nothing but pulp by now.

While lying in her arms, Kaso began explaining everything that happened—the rampage, her attack, and the moment she'd spared him by pulling back her foot.

To be honest, Kaso was deeply moved.

In the entire Dragon Ball universe, regaining rationality in the Great Ape form was incredibly rare.

There were only a few instances: like when Gohan attacked Vegeta after transforming, or when Goku reached Super Saiyan 4 in Dragon Ball GT.

Aside from that, such moments were almost unheard of.

Thanks to his comforting words, Ausbi'er's sobs finally began to fade.

But her tiny pink nose was still dripping, and her soft lips quivered as she sniffled.

At least… at least she didn't kill him.

If she had, she wouldn't be able to live with herself.

Kaso never blamed her—not for a second.

If he hadn't known about the full moon ahead of time, he probably wouldn't have been able to stop himself either.

He gently wiped her runny nose and cupped her chubby little cheeks.

"I'm not mad. Don't cry anymore, or your cute little face won't be pretty."

"But I hurt you…" she pouted.

"It's nothing. I'll be good as new in a few weeks. And hey, at least you spared me in the end—so my love wasn't wasted!"

Kaso teased her with a wink.

"You're the worst, gege! Hmph!"

She pouted harder, puffing out her cheeks.

"Alright, alright. Come on, help me up."

"Okay!"

Ausbi'er helped support him as he slowly stood up.

"Let's head home. Also... you're still not wearing any clothes."

"AHH?! Why didn't you say so earlier?!"

A white streak zipped through the sky.

From the ground below, you could faintly make out a small girl clutching a small boy as the two of them flew away into the sky.
