Chapter 5 - One System

She stared at the boy with a look that said 'Are you serious?'. She was glad she heard the voice of another person...

But they didn't have to shout her to come this way or that way when they were already heading there!

She thought of the boy, the other "player" in front of her as an absolute idiot.

Now she had to run away from more monsters than the initial few she would've needed to run away from...

....

"..okay, I'm sorry." I said apologetically. I didn't mean to do it! It was an accident, okay?!

But I didn't say that because such excuses were only going to make the other player more mad.

They soon came towards my direction and there was also a flood of monsters chasing them. The other player that was running away from the monsters was a girl.

Well, I only realized that after they finally reached the exit of the city... Now, I've made a bad first impression to a girl I've just met.

She's probably thinking I'm an idiot for shouting unnecessarily. But I was just kind of excited at the thought of seeing another player... Okay?

She soon caught up to me and was glaring at me, she was clearly mad at me for ruining her plans.

"...sorry." I said sorry again because they still seemed mad at me. Not that it would've made her any less mad at me but I still said it anyways.

By that time, monsters were already chasing us and we still had to go a little further before we reached the main city.

"You only made things more tiring than it already is..." She said with an annoyed voice.

I didn't say anything in return because I knew it wouldn't be good to say anything about it anymore.

It's better if I stay quiet in this case, yeah...

After a few more minutes of running, we finally reached the main city and the monsters were already far behind.

It's a relief they were slow, really. Although they become faster at night time when the moon comes up...

But that was something for a later episode. It was still far from night time and the sun's still up high so I didn't need to worry about it for now.

And as long as I'm in the main city, I'll be safe until the 3rd day when the barrier disappears.

Now, the thing that I had to deal with the moment is...

"Okay... I was just excited I'd finally meet another player, okay!?"

This time I wasn't apologizing. It was my fault but it doesn't matter, why would it? It's my fault not hers, as long as it's my fault, it didn't matter!

She just looked at me with an annoyed look and gave me no reply. Then she spoke.

"...so how did you know I was there anyways?" She was kind of suspicious of me, of course she was.

"Intuition." I didn't tell her my story about how I could the ability and all, it'd be way too long of a story to explain...

She just gave me an even more annoyed look, it wasn't the answer she wanted. Clearly she wasn't going to buy such a half-assed answer.

...

"...just to be sure, you aren't one of these people who transmigrated me here, right?..."

The boy was clearly not an alien looking humanoid creature but she needed to ask, just to be sure.

"No, I also got transmigrated here after getting hit by a truck." The boy said with a painful expression, he was probably still disturbed by it...

So he was also killed before coming here, huh?

'He must've been killed by the same ones that killed me... And judging by the fact he said he was excited to see me, he probably got here first, before me.'

"Oh... I see. You got here first, right? Have you seen any other people?"

" No, you're the first player I've met." The boy answered back pretty quickly.

She was kind of disappointed, she expected it but she couldn't help but be disappointed. It meant that this boy would be the only one she could work with.

"Will other people also get transmigrated here like us?"

"Well, yeah. According to what the system said, there'll be more "players" here soon, just like us."

A system? Wait, there was a system here too? She completely forgot about it because this was no longer a game...

"System? That exists here too?"

"What? You didn't get any mission from the system?" The boy asked.

'Does that mean he has a system while I don't?'

"I don't... I thought they didn't give us one?"

...

What...? Does that mean I'm the only one with a system?

"System, answer me. Why doesn't she have a system when she's a "player" like me as well?"

The system window popped up.

There is only one system for this world at the moment.

it seems that the girl was also quite surprised, wait, that means she can see the system as well, right?

"You can see the message?" I asked.

"Yes, I can see the system... Why does it only respond to you and not me?..." She was curious as to why the system chose me.

It didn't exactly choose me though... I only got it because I arrived first in this world.

"I just got it because I was here first." I answered with a look that said 'obviously'...

"Hmm... Then can you ask it if I can also get a system just like you?" It looks like she's quite desperate to get a system like me.

Right, she needed a system to guide her as to what to do next and so on... It's a tool that would help her survive in this world.

So of course, she would want it. Although it's useless except for answering questions and guiding us on what to do...

Since it doesn't have any status window or stats like things and It doesn't even have an ability window or a shop!

Maybe it didn't need to have such things... But still, what a letdown.

Well, it is more realistic this way but even a system existing like this wasn't realistic to be honest. Oh well, it doesn't really matter.

"Alright... System."

The system window popped up like usual.

"Can you give the other player a system like me?"
