Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: System, Extracting Entries

"Have you ever thought about continuing to team up with me?"

Kakashi's voice broke the silence as the oxcart approached the towering gates of Konoha.

Leo raised his eyes and stared ahead at the village he now called home.

He answered firmly, "No need to say it. Please take care of me from now on... Kakashi."

Of course, he wasn't saying that out of sentimentality. His system's ability to extract traits required physical contact—and staying close to Kakashi was a strategic move. Kakashi's future circle of friends would be full of top-tier talent. Letting go of that opportunity would be foolish.

After all, Konoha wasn't some tiny village—it was a city bustling with ninjas. The chances of casually bumping into people like Might Guy, Obito, or even Minato were laughably low without the right connections. His best chance of getting close to future legends was by sticking to Kakashi like glue.

"Mm. Please take care of me too," Kakashi replied, his voice as flat and indifferent as ever.

Even though Kakashi was emotionally distant, he still maintained the basic etiquette of a shinobi—acknowledging those who could help him complete a mission. But beyond that, everything else came second to the mission.

Soon after, the two scheduled a meeting time for the next day. Then they parted ways at the village gates.

As the team leader, Kakashi would handle all the post-mission paperwork and reporting. Leo, on the other hand, dragged his exhausted body through the streets and returned home.

The moment he stepped inside, he collapsed into bed and passed out.

The Next Morning

Leo woke early, the sun just beginning to peek over the rooftops of the village. Today was a big day. He had a goal in mind—a breakthrough.

The night before, as he lay in bed, he had come up with a plan.

The Uchiha clan respected two things above all: power and eyes.

Without strength or the Sharingan, even a full-blooded Uchiha would be looked down upon—perhaps even by their own kin.

If he wanted to earn respect and gain access to the clan's deeper resources, he needed to prove his value. And to do that, he needed a new entry.

His target? Uchiha Fugaku—the current head of the clan and the strongest Uchiha in Konoha at this time.

"If Fugaku is at the Police Department this morning, I'm going to extract something good," Leo muttered as he walked toward the Uchiha compound's security division.

The idea was simple: gain Fugaku's favor, extract a powerful entry, and leverage that strength to earn more support and Ninjutsu training from the clan.

As the clan leader, Fugaku was under immense pressure. The village elders distanced themselves from the Uchiha. Internal factions constantly bickered. As a young man thrust into leadership, Fugaku had the weight of the world on his shoulders.

Leo arrived at the Police Department just as the morning shift ended. Right on time, Fugaku exited through the front gate, his usual stoic expression softened slightly as he imagined returning home to his gentle wife.

Leo stepped forward and called out, "Chief Fugaku, may I have a word?"

The clan leader paused, turning toward the voice. "Ah, Leo-kun. You're back from your mission? Are you alright?"

He remembered Leo well.

As clan leader, Fugaku made it his responsibility to know every Uchiha who was actively serving outside the village. Most of their clan had been confined to internal duties. Those who operated externally were few—and notable, even if they were considered mediocre.

"Yes, I just returned yesterday. Nothing serious. I just wanted to have a quick word with you, Patriarch. It won't take more than two or three minutes," Leo said, offering his hand politely.

As expected, Fugaku didn't decline. He was a leader, and part of being a good leader meant being approachable—especially to subordinates who had recently survived a dangerous mission.

"Of course. Please, lead the way, Leo-kun."

Fugaku reached out and shook Leo's hand.

> Ding~ System detected contact. Extractable entries available.

The moment their hands touched, Leo's vision lit up. He saw Fugaku's profile through the system's lens. There were no gold or red entries—but several purples shone brightly.

> System, extract entry.

Leo turned to lead the way toward a quiet pavilion inside the Uchiha district. As they walked, he checked his system panel again.

> New Entry Acquired: [Uchiha (Purple)]

> Description: Uchiha pure bloodline. Purple-level represents a transcendence of the ordinary Uchiha lineage.

Leo's eyes widened. "As expected of Itachi and Sasuke's father," he thought. "Fugaku's bloodline is on a whole different level than mine."

The difference between his former white-rank [Uchiha] entry and this newly obtained purple one was like night and day.

He commanded the system immediately: "Install the [Uchiha (Purple)] entry."

The moment the new entry replaced the old one, something incredible happened.

A mysterious reaction occurred within his blood. The combination of [Uchiha (Purple)] and [Genius (Gold)] triggered a resonance. His body trembled as a strange warmth flowed through him.

Suddenly, his vision changed.

Colors deepened. Motion slowed. The world around him became clearer—sharper.

His senses expanded.

And in that moment, Leo realized what had awakened within him.

> Sharingan.

He had finally activated the Uchiha's iconic dōjutsu.

---

Arriving at the pavilion with Fugaku, Leo turned to face the clan leader.

"Patriarch Fugaku, all my teammates died during the mission. I was the only survivor... and during the aftermath, I awakened these eyes."

As he spoke, Leo activated his Sharingan. Two magatama spun slowly in each eye.

Fugaku's usually unreadable expression changed slightly—his brows lifted, his lips parted just a bit.

He understood immediately why Leo was showing him this. It was a declaration: Leo was no longer ordinary. He had awakened his eyes and was pledging allegiance to Fugaku's side.

Fugaku's stern expression softened. He nodded in approval.

"I understand, Leo-kun. Come to my house tomorrow."

He paused, his tone respectful and supportive. "To celebrate your Sharingan awakening, I'll prepare a proper gift."

Leo bowed deeply. "Thank you, Patriarch!"

---

After the conversation, Leo made his way to a quiet training ground nearby. He needed to calm his excitement and analyze the changes the system had undergone.

He opened his panel.

> Host: Uchiha Leo

Gender: Male

Age: 12

Strength: Chūnin

Entries:

– [Genius (Gold)]

– [Uchiha (Purple)]

– [Fire Style (White)]

– [Wind Style (White)]

– [Uchiha Style (White)]

– [Yin Style (Green)]

– [Sharingan (Green)]

Just as he thought—awakening the Sharingan had triggered changes across the board.

His [Yin Style] entry, previously white, had advanced to green. In addition, a brand-new entry had appeared: [Sharingan (Green)].

"Seems like the Sharingan, as described in the original series, stems from Yin Style," Leo muttered. "And as I evolve it—from one tomoe to two, to three, and beyond—the color will likely deepen."

Even his chakra had started evolving. The Uchiha didn't have chakra reserves as massive as the Senju or Uzumaki, but compared to ordinary shinobi, their chakra levels were still significant. With his bloodline upgraded, his chakra had begun to grow noticeably.

While Leo was quietly reviewing his upgrades, Kakashi arrived at the training ground.

"Here," Kakashi said, tossing a small pouch into Leo's hands. "Your payment for the mission."

Leo caught it and stared at the silver-haired boy.

"Kakashi, I'm the only one left in our current team," he said. "Have you thought about what we'll do next?"

Kakashi remained silent, his face unreadable behind his mask.

Leo didn't mind. He wasn't expecting answers—just sowing the seeds for the future.

He looked up at the sky, his eyes calm but filled with determination.
