Synopsis
From the very first day he awakened his mysterious system, Jake set his sights on Emma, the flawless goddess of the campus—untouchable, icy, and admired by all. Armed with missions from his system, Jake embarked on an outrageous journey of 99 confessions—with milk tea, roses, breakfast boxes, and even dramatic dormitory declarations. Each one was met with the same result: rejection. But just when everyone expected the 100th confession… it never came. Suddenly, the high and mighty school belle started acting strange. Why was she searching for him? Why was she holding milk tea now? Why was she the one blushing? > “Why didn’t you come confess today?” she asked with a frown. Jake blinked. “Miss, do we know each other?” Boom! The campus froze. The School Belle's aloof image? Shattered.

Chapter 1 - chapter -1

It was a calm spring afternoon at Riverdale University, just outside the Willow Hall, the female dormitory.

A tall, handsome young man stood at the entrance, holding a bouquet of fresh red roses. His eyes were locked on the upper floors of the building, searching.

His presence didn't go unnoticed. A small crowd gathered, students whispering and pointing. But after recognizing the guy, most of them smiled, shook their heads, and kept walking.

At that moment, a new freshman, Ethan, who was still getting used to college life, turned to a senior standing next to him.

"Hey, is that a confession happening over there?"

The senior glanced over and chuckled, "Oh, that? That's just Jake Carter. Don't worry, you'll get used to it."

"Jake Carter?" Ethan tilted his head. "Is he famous or something?"

"Famous?" the senior laughed softly. "You could say that. He's not just any guy—he's the only one who's confessed to Emma Blake, the most beautiful and untouchable girl on campus… ninety-nine times."

"Ninety-nine?" Ethan's jaw dropped. "Seriously?"

"Yep. Most guys give up after one or two rejections. Emma doesn't date. She doesn't even entertain the idea. But Jake? He keeps coming back. Rain or shine, he shows up here with roses and tells her how much he likes her."

"That's insane," Ethan muttered, eyes wide. "And she still says no every time?"

The senior nodded. "Every single time. But he never gets angry. He just smiles, thanks her for listening, and leaves. Some people laughed at him at first, but now… honestly, people admire him."

Ethan glanced back at Jake. "He looks so calm, like he really believes she'll say yes."

"There's even a betting pool online," the senior added with a grin. "Ten to one odds she'll say no again today. But who knows? Maybe the hundredth time is the charm."

Meanwhile, in Room 406, on the fourth floor of Willow Hall…

Three girls burst through the door, all talking at once.

"Emma! He's downstairs again!"

"This time he brought roses—like a full bouquet! And he's wearing that navy-blue shirt you like."

"He's so romantic, it's honestly like a movie."

Emma Blake sat quietly on her bed, her long brown hair draped over her shoulder, a book open in her lap but forgotten.

Without a word, she stood and walked over to the window.

She looked down.

There he was.

Jake Carter.

He stood there, smiling gently, eyes scanning until they met hers. For a moment, time slowed. The noise around them faded.

Jake smiled softly, lifting the roses slightly, like a silent offering.

Emma's heart skipped a beat. But she quickly turned away, walking back to her chair.

Her roommates exchanged glances. Sophia sighed, "Emma, come on. Why don't you just say yes already?"

"Seriously," said Rachel, flopping onto the bed beside her. "He's crazy about you. No one else would have the guts to confess ninety-nine times."

"I would've said yes by the fifth time," Lily added with a dreamy smile. "It's the stuff fairy tales are made of."

Emma didn't respond. She simply stared at the floor, lost in her thoughts.

Then, Jake's voice echoed from outside, calling clearly and sincerely:

"Emma Blake!"

"This is my ninety-ninth confession to you. I like you. I've always liked you. Please… be my girlfriend."

For a moment, the whole courtyard cheered, a mix of laughter, clapping, and shouts of

"Say yes!" and "Do it, Emma!"

Even her roommates looked at her hopefully.

But Emma said nothing.

She walked back to the window and looked down once again. Her eyes found Jake's, and this time, her gaze lingered a little longer.

There was something in his eyes. Not desperation. Not pressure. Just honesty.

Warmth.

Hope.

Love.

Emma's heart hurt a little. Because the truth was—she wanted to say yes. She really did.

When she first met Jake, she thought he was just another guy chasing her for her looks. Like all the others. She had built high walls around her heart to keep people like that out.

But Jake had never tried to climb those walls. He simply stood outside them—every day—hoping she'd open the door on her own.

She remembered every confession.

How he smiled even after rejection.

How he never tried to pressure her.

How he still remembered her favorite color.

Her favorite flower.

Her favorite book.

Emma bit her lip.

She could pretend she didn't care. But her heart feel strangely... empty about that thought.

I've gotten so used to his voice… to his smile… to those confessions, she thought.

Maybe I like him more than I realized.

Her fingers curled slightly, gripping the edge of the windowsill.

"Emma?" Sophia asked gently. "What are you thinking?"

Emma turned to her roommates, her voice soft but steady.

"…Tomorrow will be his hundredth confession," she said quietly. "And then… I'll say yes."

The room fell silent.

Then all three roommates squealed at once, surrounding Emma in a tight hug.

"Finally!"

"Told you!"

"You're gonna make him the happiest guy alive!"

Emma smiled softly, her eyes still on the window.

Outside, Jake stood in the same spot, unaware of what was coming tomorrow.

But inside her heart, Emma already knew—

The hundredth confession… would be the last.
