Chapter 105 - Chapter 105: Uchiha Fugaku in a Sack

Hokage's Office — Inside the Vault

Uchiha Shisui stared at Obito in disbelief. "Senior," he whispered cautiously, "how did you know there's a vault hidden inside the Hokage's office?"

His eyes scanned the dark, silent space around them. Despite having visited the Hokage's office at least a dozen times, he had never noticed anything that remotely hinted at the presence of a secret vault. The fact that such a room existed right under everyone's nose—and in such a critical location—left him completely stunned.

Though the vault was now abandoned and empty, the revelation of its existence was a shock in itself.

Uchiha Obito chuckled lightly, his tone casual. "Let's just say I found it by chance," he replied with a grin.

Shisui blinked, then slowly nodded. "So this was once an active treasury… That's hard to believe. It's a pity it's empty now. Otherwise, we might've scored big."

Obito gave a noncommittal smile, keeping his thoughts to himself.

What Shisui didn't know was that the vault had once been filled to the brim with wealth and confidential scrolls. Unfortunately, all of that was now long gone—thanks to a secret visit Obito had once made here, along with Black Zetsu. The place had been cleaned out, and all that remained was an echo of its former glory.

Obito turned his gaze to Shisui. "Tell me—do you know when the Anbu stationed outside the office switch shifts?"

Shisui immediately understood where this was going. His senior was planning something during the brief vulnerability of the Anbu's shift change. That short window of time was their only opportunity to strike without being noticed.

He nodded seriously, mentally calculating. "The next shift change happens in one hour. During the handover, we'll have about two minutes—just two."

Obito smirked. "Two minutes? That's more than enough."

He sat down cross-legged on the cold floor and closed his eyes, taking a moment to meditate and conserve his energy.

Shisui watched him for a moment before following suit, sitting quietly in the corner of the vault.

Hokage's Office

Elsewhere, Uchiha Fugaku leaned back in his chair, his feet casually propped up on the desk. He gazed out the large office window, watching as stone carvers etched the newest face onto the Hokage Rock. A content smile tugged at his lips.

Ever since he had ascended to the position of Hokage, things had been running smoothly. With Shimura Danzō no longer in the picture, Fugaku wasted no time in halting the carving of Danzō's likeness on the mountain. Instead, he had ordered it to be replaced with his own.

It was poetic justice in a way.

Shimura Danzō, the man who had schemed in the shadows for decades, had only served as Hokage for half a month before being ousted—and now, even his legacy on the Hokage Rock was being erased.

"The Hokage's seat isn't so special after all," Fugaku muttered to himself, smirking.

If Danzō had heard those words, he might have died of anger—again.

But that wasn't going to happen. Danzō was gone, and he would never get the chance to respond.

Suddenly, there was a knock at the door.

Knock knock knock!

Fugaku sighed. "Come in."

A tall woman entered, her arms filled with documents. "Hokage-sama, here are today's reports and administrative papers. Please review them."

She placed the hefty stack on his desk with a soft thud.

Fugaku nodded, rubbing his temples. "Alright. You may leave now."

"Yes, Hokage-sama." She turned and exited the room.

Fugaku stared at the mountain of paperwork in front of him, his expression souring.

"So this… this is what it means to be Hokage?" he muttered bitterly.

Just by glancing at the volume, he could tell that finishing everything might take him until midnight. He hadn't realized that running a village meant wading through mountains of reports, approvals, mission requests, and complaints every single day.

He groaned. "Now I understand why Tsunade refused to come back. If I had known this before, I would've passed the title to someone else in the clan."

Still grumbling, he picked up the first file and started working his way through the pile.

---

Back in the Vault

Obito opened his eyes slowly. "It's almost time."

Shisui stood, stretching slightly. "Anbu should be switching shifts soon. What's the plan, Senior?"

"You'll stay in my Kamui space," Obito said with a grin. "When I get the target, I'll toss him in. That's when you strike."

Without another word, Obito activated his Mangekyō Sharingan. Space twisted around Shisui as he was instantly absorbed into the dimensional rift of Kamui.

Then Obito reached into a hidden compartment in his cloak and pulled out a large sack.

"Hehehe… Shimura Danzō, you won't escape me this time."

---

In the Hokage's Office

Fugaku was still working through the stack of paperwork, completely immersed in his task. He was so focused that he didn't sense the subtle disturbance in the air behind him.

Without a sound, a masked figure emerged from the shadows—Obito.

Like a ghost, he approached silently, his presence undetectable.

Then, with swift precision, he raised the sack high and—

Whump!

The sack slammed down over Fugaku's head.

Darkness enveloped him.

"What the—?! Who turned off the lights?!" Fugaku cried in confusion.

Before he could react further, a heavy fist connected with his face, causing blood to gush from his nose.

"Stay still!" Obito growled and punched him again.

Fugaku was dazed, but his rage burned bright. "You bastard! Are you tired of living?!"

He squirmed violently inside the sack. "Just wait—I'll make you regret this!"

But before he could break free, a wave of nausea overtook him. Space twisted again.

Obito had thrown him into the Kamui dimension.

A moment later, Obito followed.

---

Inside Kamui Space

The moment Fugaku arrived, a flurry of kicks and punches descended upon him.

It was Shisui.

The confused and disoriented Hokage couldn't even react before the assault began.

Obito joined in as soon as he appeared, beating on the sack like it had wronged him personally.

"Agh! It hurts!" Fugaku groaned, his voice muffled through the cloth.

He was dizzy, battered, and completely overwhelmed. These two weren't holding back at all—it felt like they were actually trying to kill him.

"Enough!" he roared.

Activating his Mangekyō Sharingan, Fugaku summoned his Susanoo.

Boom!

A wave of chakra exploded outward.

Obito recoiled in pain, clutching his hand. His eyes widened in shock.

A towering black skeleton now encased the man inside the sack.

"Is that… Susanoo?!"

"It can't be!" Shisui exclaimed.

Fugaku's voice thundered coldly. "So you know what this is? Good. That means you're aware of what comes next—your death."

With a sharp motion, he tore the sack to pieces and stood tall.

Blood dripped from his nose, but his eyes blazed with fury.

He scanned the space—then froze.

In front of him stood two familiar figures.

"Shisui?!" he exclaimed, stunned. "You… you're alive?!"

Shisui scratched his head awkwardly. "Yes, Clan Leader. I survived. After I jumped off the cliff that night, I was saved by my senior."

He pointed at Obito.

Fugaku turned his glare toward Obito. His expression darkened. So this was the guy who just sacked and beat him…

Obito awkwardly rubbed the back of his head. "Big… big misunderstanding. I swear, I thought you were Shimura Danzō."

Shisui quickly explained. "We were planning to eliminate Danzō and recover my Sharingan. We didn't realize you'd already taken over as Hokage…"

Fugaku's eye twitched.

Not only had he been kidnapped and beaten half to death, but it turned out it was all because someone else had already killed the real Danzō—and now he was the one being mistaken for the snake.

Wonderful.

With a heavy sigh, Fugaku grumbled, "Danzō was killed by me."

Shisui and Obito blinked in surprise.

"Wait… seriously?" Shisui asked, eyes wide.

Fugaku folded his arms. "He was a traitor. I dealt with him myself. I just didn't expect anyone to come looking for him afterward—let alone put me in a sack and beat me like a thug."

Obito cleared his throat. "Right… again, sorry about that."

Fugaku sighed and dismissed his Susanoo.

The awkward silence that followed was only broken when Shisui quietly asked, "So… what now?"

Fugaku looked at the two of them, his face gradually softening. "Now? Now we figure out how to clean up this mess—and you two owe me a drink."
