*The Red Visors are searching Terra Technica for Lloyd, Nova, Nya, and Jay. Lloyd signals them to move along, but stop when they look at a monitor showing Kai and Cole crashing during the Speedway Five-Billion race and turning into cubes.*
"Our friends wouldn't want us to give up. We have to keep going." said Lloyd.
"We'll find a way. Somehow. We're going to find them, and bring them all back." said Jay.
"We'll save everyone, and bring peace to ninjago again." said Nova.
"Okay, what's next?" Nya asked.
"Terra Domina. That's where the last Key-Tana is." said Jay.
*They walk in front of a red arcade cabinet with flames on its screen.*
"It looks a little...intense." Unagami's logo appears on the screen. "We must be getting close to the end of the game." said Lloyd.
*Jay presses a button on the arcade cabinet, causing it to open.*
"Well, c'ya on the other side." said Jay.
*The ninja enter walk through the arcade cabinet and enter Terra Domina. They see a floating temple from above.*
"Holy cow! Unagami's Temple of Madness." said Jay.
"My god, it's giving me a headache." said Nova.
"I'd go mad too if I lived here." said Nya.
*The ninja walk through an entrance. They see many levitating platforms.*
"Okay, that's freaky!" said Jay.
"We should head back. Let's go about the dangers, and come back with a plan." The platform that they are standing on glitches. "Did you guys feel that?" Lloyd asked.
"I have a bad feeling." said Nova, knowing what was about to come next.
"Feel what?" Jay asked.
"I don't know. I thought I felt something." said Lloyd just as the platform disappears and the ninja land on one that looks like the rest. "Whoa!"
*The ninja look behind them and see the Unagami logo. The platform the ninja are on starts to disappear.*
"Hey!" shouted Jay.
They jump onto another platform.
"W-what's happening?" The ninja jumps onto another platform. "Where's that music coming from?" Lloyd asked.
"Oh, man. I was afraid of this. We've entered the world of old school platform games!" said Jay.
"Then why are we just standing here? Let's get moving already! Before Bowser goes on to marry Peach!" shouted Nova.
The ninja looked at Nova very confused with raised eyebrow.
"Browser who?" Lloyd asked.
"Who's Peach?" Nya asked.
Nova facepalmed. "By the First Spinjitzu Master, it's a game back in my world."
The ninja jumps onto another platform.
"And those games force you to run towards chaos? Or after someone trying to get married?" Nya asked.
"Getting kidnapped and then forced to marry the kidnapper." Nova explained.
"Eh, technically side-scroll toward chaos, but yeah." Jay went on to answer what he knew.
They jump onto a platform.
"There's rules to these games. One: You can't go backwards." They jump on another platform. "Two: Everything speeds up the further you go!" Jay, Nova, and Lloyd jump on another platform. Nya runs off the one she is on and nearly falls, but is caught by Jay.
Jay pulls her up. "Three: All of the obstacles are pre-programmed, so if you learn the timing, you can evade the danger." Jay points to an enemy ahead. The ninja jumps over the enemy. They jump on multiple platforms. "But the most important thing to know is: If you die, we have to start over at the beginning!"
"Wait, what do you mean, we start-OOF!" Nya gets hit by a giant spiked mallet, falls off the platform, and loses a life. The ninja are transported to the start of the level. Nya is left with one life, while Lloyd, Nova, and Jay are left with two. "Okay, I see what you mean."
"We have to do all that over again?!" shouted Lloyd.
"All of us?! How's that fair?" shouted Nya.
Nova rolled with a heavy sigh. "Less talking and more moving."
"If we pay attention, we won't make the same mistakes twice." They jump on numerous platforms. Jay slides beneath an enemy, while Nya, Nova, and Lloyd jump and leap over it. They reach a section with spiked mallets swinging. Jay dodges the mallets.
"Oh yeah!" He does a dance. "Mhmm! Mhmm!" A red cube nearly falls on him, but he dodges it. "Haha!" Another cube falls down and hits Jay, causing him to lose a life. "AHH!" The ninja respawn at the start of the level. Nya and Jay are left with one life, while Lloyd and Nova has two.
"Okay, I'm getting a little tired of this." said Lloyd.
"Yeah, same here." said Nova with an annoyed sigh.
"We don't have many lives left, so be careful, okay?" said Nya.
Lloyd, Nova, and Jay nod. The ninja passes through different sections of the level. Lloyd reaches a wall that starts pushing him off a platform. He slowly slides off but jumps, knocking him off and causing him to lose a life. "OH NOOO!"
*The ninja respawn at the start. They now all, besides Nova, have one life left. They sigh.*
"Okay, I'm down to my last life." said Lloyd.
"For fuck's sake, you guys! This is the first level, and all three of you already lost a life!" shouted Nova, throwing up her hands, not able to believe what she was seeing.
"I miss when she wasn't all angry and shouting." said Jay, hiding behind Nya.
"We'll be more careful, Nova, so please try and calm down." said Lloyd, taking her hand.
Nova let out a frustrated sigh but tried calming down.
*The ninja passes through the level's various obstacles. They jump over the wall and land behind it. The area behind them disappears.*
"Ha! No more scrolling! Did we beat the level?" said Lloyd.
*Unagami's logo appears behind them without being noticed, besides by Nova, but she didn't react to it.*
"I don't see the Key-Tana." said Nya.
"This was just the beginning." said Nova.
*Fast begins starts to play.*
"Uh oh! The music always gets faster when the game's about to get harder!" said Jay.
"How could it possibly get harder?!" shouted Nya.
*Another section of the level appears in front of them.*
"Oh, an infinity maze!" said Jay.
"By the motherfucking Overlord, WHY A MAZE!!" screamed Nova, slowly glowing purple and started glitching a bit.
"Let's hope not. Infinity means forever." said Lloyd, before looking over at Nova. "Hey, it's gonna be fine. Just stay close, and we'll get through it together."
*They feel a rumble. They start jumping on two platforms and a trampoline, sending them to a higher platform.*
"Is someone throwing bricks at us?" Nya asked.
*Flaming bombs start falling from above. Nya shields herself and jumps to Lloyd, Nova, and Jay.*
"Those aren't bricks, they're bombs!" shouted Lloyd.
*A bomb explodes in front of them, sending Jay flying.*
"Whoa! Agh!" Jay sees spikes protruding from a wall. "What are those?!" The spikes shoot out from the wall. They dodge the spikes.
"Gah!"
"Whoa!"
"Fucking maze!"
*Jay jumps on a platform. The platform starts burning. Jay jumps onto another platform.*
"Ah! AAAH!" Jay screamed.
"And apparently the floor can just burst into flames!" said Nya.
*They jump onto a trampoline and begin avoiding the obstacles of the area. They start to slow down, growing tired. They stop in front of spikes coming from above.*
"Ugh. I'll never make fun of old games again. This is hard." said Jay.
"I'll never understand how speed runners can get through this shit." Nova sighs heavily.
"No wonder this game was never released. Who wants to play something called "Spiky-bomb-bricks-hot floors"?!" said Lloyd.
"What fucking game would that be... actually there might be a game out there called that." said Nova.
"Who cares what it's called?! It's endless!" shouted Nya.
"Hopefully not!" shouted Jay.
"What if it is? What if there's no way out?" Lloyd asked.
Nova grabbed Lloyd by the collar of his gi and pulled him down closer to her face. "Don't you fucking! Dare losing hope on me here, Lloyd! Or I'll knock you out into the next week!" She yelled into his face, her rage slowly rising.
Lloyd gave her a nervous smile. "Got it, Nova." A loot box appears behind him.
"Guys, look! A loot box!" Nya jumps onto the spikes and makes her way to the loot box. "Come on! Give me something awesome!" She reaches the loot box and a menu appears, showing a cyclone symbol. "Uhh, cyclones are not a good thing." Lloyd, Nova, and Jay reach Nya. "They're whirling clouds of chaos that obliterate everything in their path."
"Whoa!" Jay and Nova pushes Lloyd and Nya, alongside themselves, out of the way, as a cube hits the floor, smashing into pieces. "Maybe the only way to beat this thing is a force of nature!" said Jay.
"Only one way to find out." Nya presses the cyclone icon. A yellow Airjitzu cyclone covers her. She gasped. "I think this gives me the ability to use Airjitzu!"
"Great, but it's only temporary. The flashes are speeding up!" said Jay.
"If you can Airjitzu, you and Nova can make it to the top of this maze!" said Lloyd.
"But what about you guys?" Nya asked.
*Lloyd and Jay look at each other and nod.*
"Go without us. It's better than none of us making it." said Jay.
"Hell no, I'm not leaving your sorry ass behind, Lloyd." said Nova, crossing her arms.
"I've got a better idea. Hang on tight, boys!" said Nya.
"Wait, no! What're you-" Lloyd.
"AH!"
*Nya grabs a hold of Jay, while Lloyd hangs onto Nova, who was holding on to Jay.*
"AHHH!"
Nya uses Airjitzu to get to the top of the maze. "Cyclon-do!"
"Whoo! Hoo-hoo!" Jay cheered.
*They land at the top.*
"Guess it wasn't so infinite after all." said Lloyd.
"Thank god, we are out of that maze." said Nova with a relieved sigh as she leaned against Lloyd.
"Then they should call it the "Super long and incredibly annoying, but eventually, there's an end to it" maze." said Nya.
"Yeah. Just rolls off the tongue, doesn't it?" said Jay.
"Well, no point in putting it off. Let's go." They walk through an entrance and enter a dojo-like level. Intense music starts playing. "The music again? How can it get harder?!" Nya asked.
"This must be the final boss battle." said Jay.
*Icons of the four ninja appear in front of them.*
"Choose your champion." said a fighting game voice.
"So now it's an old school "fighting game?" MAKE UP YOUR MIND, DUDE!" Jay complained.
"What does it mean, "choose your champion"?" Nya asked.
"Choose your champion." repeated the fighting game voice.
"Okay, I think one of us has to fight the boss." said Jay.
"I'll take—"
"I'll go." Nova cut Lloyd off as she walked forward.
"Are you sure, Nova?" Lloyd asked.
"I have more than one life, so it should be safer with me." said Nova.
"Okay, but just be careful." said Lloyd.
Nova rolled her eyes with a smirk. "I'll try."
Jay, Lloyd, and Nya step back and nod. Nova presses her icon.
"The champion has been chosen." Avatars of the Omega, Morro, Pythor, and Harumi. "Unagami will choose your opponent." Nova activates her prime controller. "Fighter two will be..."
*A fighter appears in front of Nova.*
Nova right away regretted this when she saw who her opponent was, as she took a step back.
*The fighter appears to be the Overlord.*
"The Overlord!?" shouted the ninja from behind the barrier.
"Little shadow." said the Overlord.
Nova was already taking a few steps back, she had always complained and hated him. But fighting him actually scared her, since she never knew what he would do to her.
"Cut the c-crap. I know you aren't r-real, so d-drop the act." said Nova.
"Are you sure, child?" The Overlord was walking towards her.
Nova looked around for anything and back at the others but knew they couldn't help. She was all on her own in this.
"You have no control here, old man, so go back to where you came from." Nova growled as she started glitching.
The Overlord let out a laugh before he began walking around her. "We both know it's only a matter of time until you shatter. If you wanna stay whole, you'll need me, don't forget you owe me your life already."
Nova took a step back but wasn't fast enough as the Overlord grabbed her by the throat with one of his arms and was now holding her up in the air.
*The ninjas were screaming for Nova and slamming their fists into the barrier, but nothing was working.*
Nova tried hitting him with her weapon, but it was easily knocked out of her hands.
"Useless try, but soon enough you'll be joining my side. As you were meant to be from the start." The Overlord pulled her closer. "And the first task I'm gonna give you, is to kill the green ninja, with your own bare hands."
Nova's eyes widened in fear as her glitching got worse and slowly started glowing purple. She began fighting to get free but was instead met with a purple beam. Sending her flying into the barrier.
"Nova!?" shouted the ninja.
Nova's body was shaking in fear as she was getting up. She looked at her health bar and saw that she was already very low. "Fuck."
She summoned her own sword as she took a deep breath. Before then rushing at the Overlord, slashing like crazy at him, not really thinking until she got hit by a purple ball of energy.
Her health bar went down to zero as she lost both the fight and a life. The barrier went away, and Lloyd was the first at her side.
"Nova, are you okay?" Lloyd asked, placing a hand on her shoulder, only for her to flinch and move away, shaking.
"I think she needs a minute to get over what just happened." said Nya.
"Choose your champion." the fighting game voice, once again, repeated.
Nova moved away from the others as she was trying to control her breath. She hadn't been this afraid since the Great Devourer.
She grabbed ahold of her necklace, trying to calm herself down and think about Lloyd, but the words from the fake Overlord kept repeating inside her head.
"I'll take this one." said Lloyd, as he didn't want to see Nova going through what just happened again.
"Are you sure? You only have one life left, Lloyd." said Nya.
"Same as you." said Lloyd, before glancing at Nova. "At least keep an eye on Nova, should she calm down."
*Jay and Nya step back and nod. Lloyd presses his icon.*
The fighting game voice once again repeated itself. "The champion has been chosen." Avatars of Clutch Powers, Aspheera, Garmadon, and the chicken appear. "Unagami will choose your opponent." Lloyd activates his prime controller. "Fighter two will be..."
*A fighter appears in front of Lloyd.*
Lloyd let out a gasp.
*The fighter appears to be Harumi.*
Lloyd's fight went by in a blur, as Nova wasn't listening much to what was going on around her, as she held her necklace close to herself. "What do I do? What do I do?" She mumbled in repeat to herself until she heard Jay and Nya shouting.
"No!" shouted Jay.
"Lloyd!" Nya asked.
Nova slowly looked up as the only thing she saw was a green cube. ".....No."
The force field finally disappears, and they run towards the Cube. An aerial drone collects the Cube as Nya attempted to grab it. The Aerial Drone teleports away. The last Key-Tana appears.
"Jay. What do we do?" Nya asked.
Nova slowly moved over to the others but didn't say anything as she kept fidgeting with her necklace.
"We do what we have to do." Jay grabs the Key-Tana. "We get our friends back..." He raises the Key-Tana. "...and we stop Unagami."
Nya nods lightly along with Nova. Jay stores the Key-Tana. The three ninjas glance at each other before walking out of the level.
