Chapter 33 - CHAPTER 32: GIRLFRIEND?

A CALL SHE DIDN'T EXPECT

Rose sat alone in her dimly lit apartment, staring blankly at the ceiling. Her mind was restless, haunted by Alexander's presence in her life.

Then, her phone vibrated.

Alexander.

She hesitated before answering. "Hello?"

His deep, unwavering voice came through. "Come to a café with me tonight. Let's call it a date."

Her breath hitched. "A... date?"

"Yes. I'll pick you up. Be ready."

Before she could respond, the line went dead.

Her heart pounded in her chest.

What was this? Another test? Another manipulation?

THE ARRIVAL

At exactly 8 PM, a firm knock echoed through her home.

When she opened the door, her breath caught.

Alexander stood there, dressed in a sleek black suit, his sapphire-blue eyes piercing as ever. He held a bouquet of deep red roses, but his gaze wasn't on the flowers—it was on her.

Rose had dressed in a full-sleeved black translucent bodycon dress, the material hugging her figure perfectly. Her hair cascaded down her shoulders, waves of dark silk catching the dim light of the hallway.

For the first time, she saw his eyes widen ever so slightly.

Then, in an instant, his signature smirk returned.

"You dress to kill, huh?" he mused, stepping closer, his breath just barely touching her skin.

She felt her cheeks heat up.

"H-Here," she stammered as he extended the bouquet.

He leaned in slightly, whispering, "As much as I like the flowers, I think I'd rather admire you instead."

Her heart raced. He was playing with her.

THE CAFÉ CONVERSATION

The two arrived at an elegant café, dimly lit with golden chandeliers hanging above. They took a seat near the window, the city's night view stretching endlessly beyond the glass.

For once, they weren't discussing murder or philosophy.

They spoke about life.

Rose, despite her lingering fears, found herself drawn in by his words. He was cold, sharp, and ruthless—but here, in this moment, there was something almost... human about him.

Then, he suddenly leaned forward, resting his elbows on the table.

"Be mine," he said, voice deep and unwavering.

Rose blinked, stunned. "What?"

"I asked you to be my girlfriend."

Her lips parted, trying to process the words. Was he serious?

Seeing her hesitation, he smirked. "What, scared? Thinking this is another trick?"

She swallowed hard.

Finally, she found her voice. "...Yes."

His smirk softened. "Then let me give you something real."

He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small velvet box. Inside was a heart-shaped pendant and a silver bracelet.

"Wear these, and you'll never have to doubt again."

Her hands trembled as she accepted them. She couldn't understand him, but she couldn't deny the pull he had on her.

"I..." she whispered. "I'll be yours."

THE WALL PINNING

After escorting her home, she hesitated before unlocking the door.

Then, in an unexpected move, she turned and whispered, "Do you... want to come inside?"

Alexander raised a brow, smirking. "If I say yes, do you think you'll regret it?"

She gulped, but she didn't back away.

The door shut behind them.

And before she could react—

THUD!

She was pinned against the wall.

Her breath hitched. Both her hands were gripped above her head, his other hand resting firmly on her waist.

His touch was deliberate—not forceful, but controlled.

"Now, what do we do, dear?" he whispered, lips dangerously close to her ear.

She shuddered.

His fingers lightly traced the curve of her waist, teasingly slow, his thumb pressing against the thin fabric of her dress.

Her body tensed, and her eyes glistened with a mixture of fear and confusion.

"You're scared, aren't you?" he mused, tilting his head.

Her breath came out in short, shaky gasps.

"I... I don't know if this is real."

She was trembling now, and before she could stop herself—tears slipped from her eyes.

Alexander paused.

Then, in a move she never expected—he pulled her into a hug.

His grip was firm yet gentle, steadying her.

"No, dear," he murmured against her hair. "This is real."

She clung to him, her body shaking.

Was she falling for him, or was she simply trapped in his web?

She didn't know anymore.

But for now—she just wanted to believe.
