Chapter 61 - Chapter 61 Arson

Agarth glanced dejectedly at the messy desk, then at Professor Snape, whose expression was blank and whose aura was extremely oppressive.

But he still couldn't believe what he was seeing.

'Why is this different from what I imagined?'

'Even though the potion powder I made was very successful!'

'Why is it so hard to make a liquid potion?'

'That shouldn't be the case. I followed the notes exactly, and I didn't make a single mistake!'

'What went wrong again?'

Just as things were at a stalemate, the bell rang to signal the end of get out of class.

The Gryffindors, who had been quiet all class, were now staring wide-eyed at Professor Snape with expectant eyes.

'Let get out of class end soon!'

This suffocating atmosphere is too unbearable for them, who are very active.

"Bottle your potions and hand them to me." Professor Snape took a deep breath, flicked his sleeves, sat back down on the podium, and pulled out the list.

He picked up the impurities and substandard potions that were presented to him, and with a quill pen, he boldly marked a "T" next to their names.

However, after handing in their potions, these students didn't check their grades. Instead, they rushed out of the classroom as if they were haunted.

Not everyone is like Agarth, who can still smile so brightly despite the Snake King's cold demeanor.

Specifically referring to Agarth, who is currently trying to get his notebook back from Professor Snape with a fawning smile.

Carl, holding her books, hesitated for a moment, then walked up to Professor Snape and said, "Professor, my potion is not finished."

Professor Snape didn't even look up, he simply dismissed her.

"Come to the office in the evening and finish the potion."

While keeping an eye on Agarth, he also discovered Carl's potion, which was nearing completion. Unfortunately, Agarth's crucible exploded, destroying Carl's potion in the process.

However, this Miss Margaret does possess some talent.

"As for you," Professor Snape glanced at Warrington, who was waiting to the side, "go to the classroom next door and deal with those two buckets of toads before you can eat."

Warrington glanced smugly at Agarth. He had only gone to deal with the toads, Agarth, left behind, would likely face a much harsher punishment.

With that thought in mind, Warrington nodded to Professor Snape and went to the classroom next door.

Professor Snape did not put down his quill until all the students had left the classroom, and then looked at Agarth.

Agarth was cleaning up the crumbs and scraps he had just made when he felt Snape's gaze. He immediately looked up and gave Snape a docile smile.

Professor Snape gripped his wand tightly, closed his eyes, and endured the pain.

But unable to resist, his restless hand raised his wand and delivered an Water-Making Charm to Agarth's face.

He simply couldn't stand that face that looked exactly like the old bee, yet wore a Slytherin House robe and had that silly grin.

"Cough cough cough." Completely unprepared, Agarth grimaced as he took a sip of water, only to choke and cough.

"Professor, what are you doing!"

"You'd better not laugh from now on, or I'll hit you." Snape didn't explain why he was doing this.

"Who bought your potion ingredients?"

Agarth wiped the water off his face with his sleeve. "Albus bought it back for me."

"The ingredients are all wrong. You shouldn't have let someone who can't even make the simplest tooth-strengthening potion help you buy them."

Professor Snape, who had heard about the relationship between Agarth and Dumbledore, did not show any surprise.

"Where is the mistake? I bought them exactly as instructed!" Agarth retorted.

'These were potion ingredients that Albus had brought back for him during his busy schedule, how could there be a mistake?'

"Dried nettles?"

"Bloodstained snake fangs?"

"Untreated porcupine quills?"

With each word Snape spoke, Agarth's guilty expression deepened.

'It seems that the dried nettles were indeed dry when I went out this morning.'

'The blood on the snake's fangs looked like it was from when I was making wood a few days ago.'

'The porcupine quills were prepared by Kaka.'

'Um....'

"So, the crucible exploded because the material was wrong?"

Snape pondered for a moment, then recalled the scent he had just smelled.

He spoke hesitantly, "Not necessarily."

'Because the smell of burning food after the explosion was extremely similar to the smell of burnt food when I was a child.'

Thinking of this, a shadow crossed Professor Snape's eyes.

When he was young, he rarely ate his mother's cooking, let alone had a full meal. Whenever that man got drunk and caused trouble, his nominal mother would forget about her son.

'What I usually do is stew all the vegetables in one pot and eat it for several meals. Towards the end, the food sticking to the pot smells exactly like the food that came out after the Agarth's crucible exploded.'

"Come to the office tonight with Miss Margaret and redo a copy."

He paused, then added a sentence.

"Use my materials."

Agarth nodded, picked up his book, and was about to leave when he returned to Professor Snape's side.

"Um, Professor, my, my notebook." Agarth gestured with his hand to indicate the square shape of the notebook, and then pointed with his eyes to the notebook that was under Professor Snape's hand.

Snape opened his palm and waved it at Agarth.

"You left a glove behind last night."

"I keep that glove. You can take it, and I'll give the notebook back to you."

Agarth thought to himself, "Oh no, oh no, oh no!"

The retribution came way too fast.

"Professor, I think it's fine to give you the notebook, and the gloves are the same!"

With that, Agarth turned and ran.

Professor Snape, sitting on the podium, snorted, but did not call Agarth back.

He also needs to go to the headmaster's office.

After Mr. Lindger's class schedule was released, the headmaster couldn't wait to call me to his office for a chat.

Agarth, who had escaped, saw that Professor Snape had neither caught up with him nor called out to him.

He touched his earlobe, puzzled.

'Why is he being so agreeable today? I blew up the crucible and messed with him, but he didn't even put me in detention.'

Perhaps they're still holding back some kind of trick up their sleeve?

Agarth couldn't figure it out, so he stopped thinking about it.

However, on the way out, we happened to pass by the classroom where Warrington processed toads.

Agarth's eyes darted around, his right hand tapping his chin, and he tilted his head as he stood at the classroom door looking at Warrington.

'There's no one around, so what should I do?'

"Abu!"

Agarth gently called to Abu.

Suddenly, a small opening appeared in the space behind Agarth, and the phoenix Abu flew onto Agarth's shoulder, its small eyes looking at Agarth.

"Set it on fire and burn him."

Besides fiendfyre, the phoenix fire is also difficult to extinguish.

Incendio's burning effect can be easily dealt with by any professor, and Fiendfyre's damage range is too wide. Only Phoenix Fire and Agarth can guarantee that they won't harm others, but will still make Warrington suffer.
