In a quiet, modest house—consisting of a living room, kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom—a boy lay asleep on a comfortable mattress. As the sunlight touched his face, he stirred awake.
He had hair as black as the night, warm brown eyes, and a dusky brown skin tone.
"It's time to wake up and start a new day," he muttered to himself, stretching his limbs as he yawned.
Rising from bed, he neatly straightened the bedsheet before making his way to the bathroom. He picked up his toothbrush and toothpaste, brushed his teeth, then hopped into the shower to complete the usual morning routine.
Once done, he walked into the kitchen to prepare a light breakfast. After plating the meal, he sat at the dining table, eager to dig in. With the first bite, a satisfied grin appeared on his face.
"Sam, you're a great cook! Hahaha," he chuckled to himself.
Just then, his alarm clock rang loudly.
"Oh shoot! It's almost time for the Academy!"
He hurriedly finished his breakfast and rushed to his wardrobe to grab his uniform. The attire consisted of a formal shirt, matching trousers, and a coat—simple yet refined. The shirt and coat bore the emblem of the Academy: a sleek shield set in front of two crossed swords. A clean, almost noble design.
After putting on his uniform and slipping into his shoes, he stood in front of the mirror for a final look.
If this were a movie, someone might've called him handsome.
But in this world, appearance wasn't just about genetics—beauty often grew with one's power.

A polite knock came from the gate, followed by a calm voice.
