The night deepened, and the rain poured harder.
Lu Chengfeng returned to a nearby ruined temple, which was originally built by monks from the Great Zen Temple during their travels. After the temple's downfall, the monks were hunted by various factions, and the citizens avoided them like the plague, leaving the temple abandoned.
This temple wasn't very large and quite dilapidated, with the wind and rain blowing in through the broken walls. Fortunately, the roof above the Buddha statue was still intact, providing a place for temporary shelter.
The Buddha statue held a Vajra Pestle in its left hand, formed a mudra with its right, and displayed an angry countenance. It was the Guardian Buddha Vajra King Buddha worshipped by the Great Zen Temple.
In this desolate and remote temple, the atmosphere seemed rather eerie and sinister.
A pile of firewood burned in front of the statue, adding a touch of warmth to the chilly night.
Crash!
