Chapter 72 - CHAPTER-72

A warm current surged into Luoyu's mind.

He could feel the swordsmanship—memories that weren't originally his—merging seamlessly into his body through the system.

It felt like he could unleash the technique with just a thought.

Moments ago, he'd looked at the oddly shaped Monohoshizao and seriously considered using it as a fishing rod.

But to his surprise, the blade came with Sasaki Kojirō's ultimate technique:

Tsubame Gaeshi — the Anti-Human Demon Sword.

A strike said to transcend reality, illusion, and space.

In simple terms: one slash becomes three.

Two visible, one hidden—existing in a realm beyond perception.

A true killing move, invisible and inescapable.

Used properly, one strike was all it took.

Clearly, Sasaki Kojirō didn't want his blade reduced to a time-killing prop.

Why else would he gift such a technique?

Luoyu sheathed the 1.5-meter blade with satisfaction. It was a bit awkward to carry, but it made for great flair.

Still, just as he was about to test it out, he remembered the final reward from his ten-pull.

He'd only caught a glimpse, but it looked like something beyond Silver-tier—possibly even Gold.

Apparently, even the copy-paste gods couldn't resist the luck of a true gacha king.

If he could claim that final prize, his strength would leap forward again.

And with that, his ability to slack off mid-battle would also improve.

"Brrrrrring! Emergency alert! Emergency alert!"

A shrill Den Den Mushi alarm suddenly blared.

Luoyu raised an eyebrow, surprised.

As an Admiral, his Den Den Mushi was top-tier.

Unless he answered it himself, there were only three reasons it would sound an alarm:

Marine HQ was under existential threat.

A Celestial Dragon was under attack and urgently requesting protection.

A Buster Call had been issued.

He had shaken down Kaido recently for intel on Whitebeard.

But Kaido launching a suicide mission on Marineford?

With three Admirals stationed there—and Sengoku and Garp in reserve?

Unless Kaido had lost his mind, that wasn't happening.

As for a Celestial Dragon summoning him for help?

After what happened at the Plaza of Justice, no way they'd call Luoyu. Not unless they had a death wish.

That left only one possibility:

A Buster Call had been activated.

The World Government's ultimate weapon—an indiscriminate annihilation protocol.

It involved two Den Den Mushi: a golden one to issue the order, and a silver one to receive it.

Only Admirals and the Fleet Admiral had the authority to use it.

Well… with a few exceptions.

If Luoyu remembered right, the head of CP9 also had that privilege.

"Admiral Luoyu, this is a Buster Call summons. We're too far away to reach it in time," Gion said, her face pale.

Using the Den Den Mushi's coordinates, they quickly identified the target:

One of the World Government's three most critical strongholds.

If a Buster Call had been triggered there, it meant something—or someone—had shattered its defenses.

"Didn't expect them to move this fast," Luoyu said, taking a drink.

"Let's go check it out. Who knows, maybe we'll get some overtime."

They were still in Whitebeard's territory, but the Red Line wasn't far.

If they returned to the Red Line and used the Science Division's high-speed current tunnels, they could reach the Plaza of Justice quickly.

From there, the whirlpool stream could take them to Enies Lobby.

Of course, by the time they arrived, it might already be a smoldering ruin.

"Admiral Luoyu… you're not planning to use this to trick Fleet Admiral Sengoku again, are you?" Gion asked, her face full of dread.

The others looked equally resigned.

Luoyu took another swig and rolled his eyes.

"Do I look like that kind of person? And if I did… don't tell Old Man Sengoku."

Meanwhile, Marine HQ was in chaos.

The Buster Call alert had everyone on edge.

For Sengoku, it was just one disaster after another.

But when he saw the location—Enies Lobby—he finally exhaled.

"At least it wasn't that brat who triggered it. If it was, I'd have to resign just to save his skin."

"Still, that command snail in his hands is like a ticking time bomb. We need to get it back."

"Garp, you've got that constipated look again. You're not about to say something, are you?"

Garp stared at the Den Den Mushi, which was still relaying emergency intel.

He wanted to say it—"That's my grandson, alright."

But if Sengoku found out everything that had happened lately was tied to him…

He'd be the first one out the door.

"Ahem. Sengoku, what could I possibly say? I'm just thinking… maybe Luoyu's about to trick you again."

"To be safe, I'll head over and keep things under control."

And with that, Garp turned and left.

So fast. So decisive.

If Luoyu knew Garp had just thrown him under the bus to save himself, he'd probably shout:

"You traitor!"

Sengoku watched Garp vanish down the hall.

His heart skipped a beat.

His right eyelid twitched.

Left eye for fortune, right eye for doom.

Why did this feel like a terrible omen?

"Fleet Admiral Sengoku," Tsuru said, narrowing her eyes. "I have a bad feeling about pairing Garp and Luoyu together."

Everyone in the room shivered.

No one disagreed.

"And now we've got Aokiji heading to the Buster Call too…" Sengoku muttered. "Two Admirals and a hero. So why do I feel even more uneasy?"
