Miyuki sat gracefully on the sofa in the grand living room of the White House. The soft clink of porcelain echoed faintly each time she lifted her cup, steam curling from the surface of the pale amber tea.
Beside her, Lily sat a little too rigidly, her fingers tightening around her own cup as if it might steady her trembling nerves.
Lily's eyes darted toward Miyuki, lingering for a moment before quickly flicking away, her cheeks tinged with pink.
"So… D-do you like the tea?" Her tone was polite , but beneath it lay the faint tremor of shyness
Miyuki only gave a slight nod in response, her face perfectly composed. Her eyes, sharp and distant, drifted back to her teacup.
Lily lowered her gaze, unsure whether to speak again or simply sit there,
Then — Miyuki's ears twitched ever so slightly. A tiny, instinctive movement.
