Chapter 53 - The Spark Dancing on My Fingertips Is My Unchanging Belief

Chakra is an incredible force. In its original context, it can manifest various abilities. Like during the Frieza saga, on Planet Namek, Kakarot (Goku) could simply touch Krillin's head and instantly sense everything that had transpired on that world. When Naruto's innate ability to sense malice merged with his perception of chakra, a similar phenomenon occurred: he saw Karin's past… everything that had happened to her. In that moment, an unprecedented wave of malice radiated from Naruto.

"I thought I'd seen enough disgusting things in Konoha. But this… truly opened my eyes!" he spat out, his left foot grinding the bones in the so-called "Lord Takeda's" body one by one. Simultaneously, he infused Kakashi's chakra into the battered shinobi, ensuring he wouldn't die too quickly—Naruto wanted him to feel every nerve-shattering crack. Whatever destructive consequences followed were not Naruto's concern—he simply didn't want to kill him too easily.

By the time he finished, all that remained was a deformed skull.

"Over here! He's over here!" shouts rang outside, and more shinobi from Kusagakure rushed in. From within the rubble came the broken cries of "Help meeee!"

With a loud crack, Naruto stomped on the shinobi's neck, silencing him forever.

"That was… Lord Takeda?" someone murmured in shock.

"Forget about him!" snarled Yuichi. "This freak is after— THAT thing— Be careful not to harm it!"

They had skipped negotiation altogether—and Naruto had no intention of talking.

Under Yuichi's command, a squad of shinobi burst into the hut while others formed a perimeter, weapons at the ready, waiting for Naruto to emerge.

"When we kill this guy, I'm going to Hozuki Castle myself—I'm demanding answers from that bastard Wuwei!" Yuichi growled, spite dripping from his words. Even if he couldn't defeat Mui, he wanted to at least threaten him.

But who cared if he could or not?

The shinobi who had brought Naruto, Suzuki Jirō, vanished without a trace.

Those who stormed the hut fell silent—like a boulder dropped into a well.

"Captain!" The perimeter broke into whispers as they looked to Yuichi for orders. Messengers or attackers? Bullish or cautious?

Yuichi's face shifted hues—red, pale, undecided. Finally, he snarled out orders: "Attack with ninjutsu!"

"No matter what, that THING is ours!" someone yelled from the crowd.

"Fire Style: Great Fireball Jutsu!"

"Fire Style: Dragon Flame Technique!"

"Lightning Style: Thunder Falls!"

"Lightning Style: Exploding Shuriken!"

A barrage of flame and lightning hammered the rubble.

Boom—crash! The hut collapsed under the deluge of attacks, thick dust and debris billowing outward.

"Is he dead?" Yuichi asked quietly, focusing on the remaining smoldering debris.

Suddenly, a thumb-thin violet beam cut through the ruins.

Yuichi felt it pierce his chest—panic. He opened his mouth to speak… but all that escaped was a restrictive gasp. With a fragile thud, he fell silent forever.

"Captain Yuichi is dead!" someone screamed in terror.

Like rats from a sinking ship, the shinobi tore away, running for their lives. But the deathbeam was relentless, swift and precise, picking them off as they fled.

"Now I see why Frieza loved that move," Naruto said softly. As the smoke rose, he emerged from the ruins, cradling Karin in a rescue-style princess carry, crimson energy dancing at his fingertip.

One swift red deathbeam—delivered with chakra focused into his finger—had taken them all down. A fiery death-laser, a seal of malice matching Naruto's outrage. The color of red, echoing Frieza's signature.

"Wake up," he whispered softly, channeling healing chakra into Karin to restore her strength. Her recent trauma had made her mind whirl—with uncomfortable thoughts that Naruto wanted silenced.

Karin's eyes fluttered open. She looked at him timidly. He dove into her hair, gently running a hand through the fiery strands.

"Beautiful hair," he murmured. "Come with me."

She nodded wholeheartedly, a sweet, sincere smile blooming for the first time since her mother.

"It's okay now," he soothed, "I'm here for you."

She nodded again, trusting him completely—like an unspoken understanding passing between them.

GRUMBLE.

Karin's stomach growled embarrassingly. Naruto chuckled. Chakra couldn't fill her belly. "You want something to eat? I'll take you."

She nodded again, cheeks reddening.

They chose a local pork-cutlet shop in the village—plenty of locals stared greedily, fearful of their outsider girl and the strange masked man. One oaf tried to confront them, but Naruto nonchalantly flicked a chakra wave—poof—and the man disappeared, leaving no trace.

Naruto tapped his hands on the table like it was nothing. "Bring your best dish. Got it?"

The owner nodded frantically. "Got it, sir!"

Karin watched in awe; Naruto had seen the nightmare she lived through.

They were served two steaming bowls of pork cutlets.

Karin, starving, devoured two full bowls—Naruto watched carefully, chakra ensuring it didn't break her stomach.

"Full?" he asked, ruffling her hair. The red strands felt incredible.

Karin sighed, patting her belly silently. Embarrassed, she glanced at Naruto.

Outside, villagers watched, torn between fear and curiosity—their hostility to Karin made Naruto quietly seethe.

They looked at her as "that thing," "that cursed one"—like she had murdered them all.

Yet she had healed so many of them.

She was nothing but a victim.

They were beyond salvation.

She was beyond their help.

So let them feel his wrath.

"Let the world feel our malice," Naruto said under his breath—starting here in Kusagakure.

(Useless trivia: Karin is older than both Naruto and Sasuke.)
