"No matter what name you use in the future, don't ever call yourself Uchiha again," Fugaku said coldly. "Otherwise, I'll find you no matter where you are—and kill you."
As he finished speaking, his eyes turned scarlet, his Sharingan spinning. He looked at Itachi as if he were a complete stranger.
"Hahaha! You can't even protect yourself, yet you still say ridiculous things like disowning Itachi from the Uchiha clan." Obito mocked, glancing at the corpses littering the ground. Most of the Uchiha elites were already dead.
"After tonight, there will be no Uchiha left in the entire shinobi world."
"Fugaku... Father..." Itachi hesitated at the word "father," then corrected himself under Fugaku's gaze.
"With these eyes… you stand no chance."
His Mangekyō Sharingan flared.
"So that's your trump card, Itachi," Fugaku said, startled as he looked at the eye pattern.
The legendary Mangekyō Sharingan—the eye once possessed by the Uchiha progenitor, Madara.
'The masked man probably has the same eyes,' Fugaku thought, casting a glance at the other man still massacring their people.
'Looks like… this is the end for me.'
'Even so—I won't tarnish the Uchiha name.'
Uchiha never retreats!
Just then—suddenly—a voice pierced the night:
"One vs. seven!"
With a shriek, Izumi, who had clearly died earlier, suddenly stood up. The gaping wound in her chest was now gone, reversed as if time had rewound. Her right eye had turned completely white.
Izanagi.
A forbidden Uchiha technique that physically rewrites the user's reality, at the cost of the eye's vision.
Her remaining eye spun wildly with rage. The three tomoe spun faster and faster, until they merged into a single shape—like a cloverleaf.
A new Mangekyō Sharingan had awakened.
"Itachi, I swear I will kill you!"
With a sharp sound, Izumi launched herself like a spring. Even Fugaku, with his Sharingan, only saw a blur.
Her kunai struck Itachi in the gut, blood spraying from the wound.
"Where is he?" Izumi didn't relax. She remained on alert.
The Itachi she stabbed burst into a flock of crows.
Crow Clone.
"Tch, a single Mangekyō, huh?" Obito scoffed, his eyes glinting with greed. "We have two pairs over here."
"Tonight—the Uchiha will be erased!"
He stopped what he was doing and joined Itachi in surrounding Izumi.
He was missing a Mangekyō himself. Hers would do.
"You'll fight me instead."
Another sudden voice cut through the tension. Obito sensed danger behind him, a hot, destructive presence.
His instincts flared—he immediately phased into intangibility.
Boom!
A powerful fist blasted through the space he had just occupied, creating a crater several meters wide.
"That strength… if that hit me, I'd be dead." Obito gulped. Lucky he reacted fast enough.
"Next time, I won't warn you." The attacker stepped forward—Naruto, also wearing a spiral mask. He mimicked a gun with his fingers and pointed it at Obito's head.
"Konoha's ninja?" Obito wasn't fazed. "No... he wouldn't be helping the Uchiha if he were."
As long as he kept his body intangible, no one could hurt him.
"Itachi—kill her now. Take her eye." Obito ordered, worried things would spiral further out of control.
But Naruto blocked him again.
"I said—you're fighting me."
"You're foolish," Obito said. "If you want to die…"
He phased into mist again, then reappeared behind Naruto, hand extended—
Wood Style: Piercing Root Technique.
"Die."
Just as his hand was about to strike, Naruto subtly leaned aside, dodging easily, and countered with a brutal left hook to Obito's gut.
Crack!
Obito spat blood into his mask.
That punch nearly knocked him to the Pure Land.
The key was that Obito needed to become solid to attack—and Naruto could sense the subtle air friction when that happened. It was similar to how Goku, in the 23rd World Tournament, could sense Tien's movements from behind.
Naruto's precise timing let him land a clean hit. If Obito hadn't phased back quickly, he might've died right there.
Now they were in a stalemate.
Obito couldn't harm Naruto while intangible—and Naruto couldn't harm Obito unless he attacked.
Both were staring each other down, neither willing to make the next move.
Meanwhile, Fugaku—who lacked a Mangekyō—could only retreat and rescue other wounded clan members.
"Thanks for waiting, everyone."
A warm but powerful voice announced the arrival of Minato—the Fourth Hokage—his Flying Thunder God marks once again set.

Author's Note:
In the manga, Fugaku doesn't have a Mangekyō.
If he did, and you combined him with Shisui and Itachi, even Obito wouldn't dare to mess with the Uchiha.
Truly—what a waste of a strong hand…
