Surihan let out a miserable scream and fell back.
He hadn't noticed the dog at all. Caught off guard, he almost dropped his Spirit Sword. Before he could steady himself, the dog pounced at him again in a violent leap.
Surihan's face changed dramatically; he hurried to defend himself.
Bang!
Splurt!
A cloud of blood bloomed from Surihan's arm. The claw mark was so deep bone showed, making him twitch in pain as he staggered back, battered and disheveled.
The dog's eyes were fierce, lips curled back in a snarl, short chubby legs kicking out a flurry of afterimages midair.
Bang!
Surihan stumbled and crashed to the ground.
Job done, the dog darted back to Xu Yang's side, glaring alertly with savage eyes—gone was any sign of his usual docile cuteness.
