Even if they couldn't be saved completely, as long as their Spiritual Power, their Divine Sense, could be retrieved, they might find a living dead or a pregnant woman.
They could channel their Spiritual Power into the body of the living dead, or into the unborn child's body within the pregnant woman.
After all, the living dead have no Spiritual Power left, thus lacking any consciousness, and the unborn child, not yet born, hasn't developed Spiritual Power or consciousness, so occupying their bodies isn't considered an evil deed.
However, everyone tried not to seek out pregnant women and avoided occupying infants' bodies, as doing so would be like killing a young life, which is, naturally, concerning for the parents.
