Soon after, someone cried out in alarm, "The guards are dead!"
Everyone immediately turned to look, discovering that the armed guards stationed in the four corners of the room were all lying dead on the floor. A sharp card was embedded in each of their throats.
Despite being held captive by the young man, the professor didn't look overly panicked. He simply said calmly, "I remember you. You're Senior Researcher Ryan, aren't you? I never expected you to be such a formidable... Combat Expert."
