Perhaps there's nothing particularly worth celebrating on April Fool's Day, but at the gate of Shanghai Theatre Academy, crowds are gathered, handsome men and beautiful women everywhere, luxury cars abound, and quite a few tabloid media are stationed and waiting.
As one of the three major art school giants, the art school entrance exam interview is naturally one of the grand events. However, compared to previous years, this year's entrance exam is much more lively. In 2017, the number of applicants for the Shanghai Theatre Academy entrance exam was 21,872, while this year it directly reached 39,622, a doubling increase. This is not only because Shanghai Theatre Academy increased the number of admissions but also due to their explosive publicity efforts this year, which even prompted Beijing Film Academy and Central Academy of Drama to criticize them for shamelessness.
