Chapter 18 - Chapter 18: Reunion

After saying goodbye to Vivian, Lynn shopped again in the general goods section of the auction house before leaving.

Since he was in Celestial Destiny City, under the watchful eye of the Celestial Mandate Emperor, he wasn't about to encounter an ambush once he stepped outside.

Moreover, he hadn't purchased anything particularly valuable, just made a subtle show.

Following the directions he had just inquired about at the auction house, Lynn easily found the place to hire workers this time.

However, since he was used to living alone, he didn't plan to hire long-term servants; he just needed someone to clean up his house this time.

Although he was hiring temporary workers, the recruitment went smoothly because he was willing to spend money. Ten men and ten women, twenty people in total, followed him back home.

These people were accustomed to all kinds of temporary jobs, and cleaning up a long-uninhabited mansion only took them half a day with twenty people.

By the time they finished, it was already dark; Lynn didn't even have pots and pans, let alone dinner. Just like how he hired craftsmen in reality, besides the wages, he gave each temporary worker a little extra.

The Silver Coins used for payment were exchanged from the auction house earlier; the smallest currency he had was Gold Coins, so he couldn't provide smaller change.

After the workers left, Lynn closed the door and rubbed his belly, discovering that it was slightly upset.

Hungry…

At moments like this, Lynn increasingly felt the reality of this world—it was no longer just the game world he enjoyed, but a world akin to reality.

Here, getting hit hurts, and not eating for a day makes you hungry, unlike being engrossed in a game where skipping meals for hours goes unnoticed until exiting the game and returning to reality.

Living alone, Lynn was quite self-sufficient. His basic life skills weren't fully mastered but they were functional. But a skilled cook can't perform without ingredients or cookware, even with Master-level cooking skills.

Besides, he didn't have Master-level cooking skills; his secondary profession in the Miracle game was a Blacksmith, which was indeed Master-level.

During the day, he passed several hotels; there was one nearby the Lynn residence that looked promising. Today seemed a good day to try it out, and if suitable, it could become his regular dining place.

After tidying up at home, he changed out of the standard cloth outfit provided by the system and wore one of his Reserve outfits rated Level 600. This set was the plainest among his collection and suitable for daily wear.

As for those other outfits, they weren't necessary right now because they were all extravagantly flashy, drawing attention everywhere.

It's said that clothes make the man—three parts appearance and seven parts attire. Before, in plain clothes, Lynn's charisma wasn't apparent; now in different garb, although warrior gear doesn't highlight nobility, it certainly stands out.

If earlier he had met Vivian in this attire, that little white flower might have blushed twice as often.

After admiring himself briefly in the mirror, Lynn headed out.

Finding the hotel he passed earlier, he walked straight in. It wasn't a high-end place, only moderate, but Lynn, even after making money, maintained simple habits—a five-star meal or street food, neither was beneath him.

Following the server's recommendation, Lynn casually ordered three dishes, knowing he could only eat that much alone. Just as he handed the menu back to the server, a lively voice caught his ear.

"It's Big Cousin! I ran into you again!"

Little Yuna hopped energetically over to Lynn, her big eyes seemed to shine as she looked at his new outfit. Young or old, the appreciation for a handsome appearance was universal.

"It's the adorable Little Yuna, why aren't you wearing your bunny outfit?"

Lynn's mischievous hand instinctively reached out, patting the little girl's head; although her round head felt nice, touching bunny ears was more intriguing.

"That's home-wear. One must dress appropriately outside."

Little Yuna didn't mind Lynn's head pats, rather she enjoyed it—the current aroma from this big brother was especially pleasing, with none of the earlier, faint discomfort from before.

"Little Yuna is such a little lady, so well-behaved."

Lynn had little experience interacting with big girls, but his orphanage background meant he was quite skilled at engaging with kids.

His gestures and tone were well-honed, effortlessly charming Little Yuna.

"Yeah, yeah! Little Yuna's the best! Right, today I came with my good friend; I'll bring her over. She'll definitely like Big Cousin too!"

With that, the little one escaped from Lynn's hand and skipped off to find her friend.

In reality, her friend wasn't blind; of course she noticed Little Yuna running over to greet Big Brother. But she wasn't too fond of Yuna's "Big Cousin," hence didn't follow her.

"Lily, let me introduce you, this is my Big Cous…"

"No need for introductions; I know him."

The two angelic little girls came hand-in-hand to Lynn's side. Little Yuna was about to introduce her friend to the comforting aroma of Big Brother, but Little Yuri pouted and interrupted, throwing an annoyed gaze at Lynn.

"Little Yuri, Little Yuna, are you two indeed twins?"

Watching the two round heads bobbing before him, Lynn first nodded to the Elf Race sister, then crouched down to closely observe the two cuties.

"Not twins, but best friends."

"Yup, yup!"

Little Yuri and Little Yuna spoke in unison, showing no sign of coordination.

"Not being twins doesn't detract from your cuteness… Also, Little Yuri, still holding a grudge against Big Brother?"

Lynn habitually reached out, intending to pat Little Yuri's head as he did with Little Yuna, but the former cleverly dodged, denying him the privilege.

"Little Yuri's anger is gone, but Sister Xiya doesn't like you, so I can't be best friends with you yet."

Little Yuri sneaked a glance at Sister Xiya nearby, then deliberately spoke loudly.

Xiya, the Elf sister, took in the renewed spirit of Lynn compared to earlier and, sensing the righteous aura from her Natural Perception, her previously furrowed brow relaxed.
