Chapter 3 - Chapter 2: Harvest

Qin Ming stared intently at those three entries.

The golden text flickered in and out of view.

After repeatedly confirming without error, he was overjoyed!

Golden Finger!

This is definitely his own Golden Finger!

Qin Ming originally thought that, barring any accidents, his path to immortality would end here in this lifetime.

Unexpectedly, hope was reignited once more!

Qin Ming suppressed his excitement.

Without bothering to wash up, he cautiously approached the three Spirit Rice plants, then surveyed all the plants in the courtyard.

He found that only these three could display entries.

"Can I just directly harvest them?"

Qin Ming reached out and snapped the three Spirit Rice plants at their roots.

As he stored away the Spirit Rice, he saw a flash of green light and two white lights emanate from within them, then transform into three leaves quietly appearing in his Sea of Consciousness.

The green leaf carried the 'Ripening' entry.

The white leaves bore the entries 'Weak Dharma Power' and 'Intermediate Spirit Rain Technique five times'.

As long as he willed it, he could use them immediately.

Qin Ming returned indoors and shut the door.

Sitting cross-legged on the bed, he focused his will on one of the white leaves, the 'Weak Dharma Power' entry disappeared.

In an instant.

A surge of mana erupted within Qin Ming's Dantian, startling him into quickly guiding it by the family-taught Longevity Technique mana circulation route, transforming this thread of mana into Longevity Dharma Power.

"Though it's said to be weak mana, I didn't expect it to be so abundant!"

After a while.

Feeling the changes happening in his Dantian, Qin Ming's face showed the joy of a harvest.

"The mana in my Dantian has grown stronger, equaling three months of my usual hard cultivation."

He had been stuck at the Qi Cultivation Second Layer's bottleneck for a long time without any progress, now it seemed to show subtle signs of loosening.

If he could get a few more entries like these, reaching the Qi Cultivation Third Layer wouldn't be far off!

Even more unexpected was that the entries could be directly stored in his Sea of Consciousness, to be used at any time, truly convenient.

'Entries like the one just now, 'Weak Dharma Power', must be stockpiled if possible in the future. They might just save my life in critical moments!'

Qin Ming resolved quietly in his heart.

Having tasted success, he felt invigorated and couldn't wait to try the effects of the other two entries.

But he quickly suppressed this urge.

"Don't get ahead of yourself! Stay calm! It's important to stay calm!"

"I still need to follow my usual routine; with my current low strength, it's best not to let others notice anything unusual, growing steadily is wise."

With that in mind, Qin Ming got up and went to the kitchen to start cooking, using the Spirit Rice he harvested yesterday.

He also stir-fried some delicate side dishes.

Usually, after paying his taxes, Qin Ming would sell the leftover Spirit Rice at the market, living frugally, and exchanging it for daily cultivation resources.

He couldn't afford to eat Spirit Rice more than a few times a month.

The Spirit Rice contained Spiritual Qi, not as much as the entries, but in the eyes of ordinary cultivators, it was considered quite precious cultivation food.

After eating.

Qin Ming took his Spiritual Hoe and, as usual, went to his Spirit Field.

He walked around but found something.

He observed all the Spirit Fields and plants nearby.

Except for his half-acre of not-yet-mature Spirit Rice, where a single Spirit Rice plant with the 'Weak Dharma Power' entry flashed.

No entries appeared on any other plants!

This means only the Spirit Plants he personally cultivated would generate entries.

And entries appeared with a certain probability, which was very low.

After all, in that half-acre spirit field, there were at least thousands or tens of thousands of Spirit Rice, and only one had an entry, an incredibly minuscule chance.

Three plants with entries appeared at once in Qin Ming's flowerbed, it's like his ancestors were smiling upon him, sheer luck.

But fortunately, he believed as long as he kept planting, entries would eventually appear.

Qin Ming's spirit field is located at the back of the hillside, where few people go besides himself, and a dense bamboo forest provides cover.

Usually, the spirit field overseer, Du Haifu, only appears to collect taxes, and doesn't come to inspect unless something major happens.

Yesterday, the Spirit Farmers finished harvesting the Spirit Rice, and no one came to the fields today either.

Qin Ming stared at the only Spirit Rice with an entry in his spirit field, watching it carefully for half a day.

He could not distinguish what made it different from the surrounding Spirit Rice.

It was truly bewildering…

Seeing no one around, Qin Ming decided to use the other two entries.

Du Haifu's words yesterday gave him a strong sense of urgency.

He absolutely cannot go to the front-line battle camp and die in vain.

With his current combat capability, he would be among the weakest of the weak.

"First, try ripening this half-acre of Spirit Rice to see what happens."

Qin Ming took a deep breath, focused his mind, and used the 'Ripening' and one 'Intermediate Spirit Rain Technique'.

The 'Ripening' green leaf in his Sea of Consciousness disappeared, and the 'Intermediate Spirit Rain Technique' was reduced to four uses remaining.

Qin Ming formed a spell with his hand and pointed above the half-acre Spirit Rice!

A gray spirit cloud quickly gathered in the sky above, soon covering the half-acre spirit field entirely.

Sizzling softly!

Accompanied by the ripening effect, spiritual rain continuously fell.

"The Intermediate Spirit Rain Technique is indeed vastly different from the Low-level Spirit Rain Technique."

"The range and Spiritual Qi conversion effectiveness have greatly increased, and most importantly, it can initially mobilize the Spirit Vein Qi, incomparable."

Qin Ming carefully experienced the sensation during casting, treasuring this rare opportunity.
