"This is Mr. Xen. He will be dealing with your case," he introduced the lawyer.
"Do I have to speak?" Chaewon asked, his voice low.
Hanbin paused for a moment, then replied, "If you want to, but the rest of the things Mr. Xen will take care of."
Chaewon pressed again. "What if the reporters ask questions from me?"
So hanbin handed him a set of papers. "Read this out, and don't answer anything except for what's written here."
Chaewon frowned as he scanned the lines. "Hyung… why do I have to say bad things about the company?"
Before Hanbin could answer, the lawyer spoke. "We are going to sue the company."
Chaewon looked up, shocked. "Do we really need to do that? It will cost us a lot—not only money. If we lose, you guys will have to suffer too. Sue one of the largest Korean companies? It doesn't make any sense."
Hanbin opened his mouth to reply, but just then the rest of the members walked in.
Chaewon's eyes widened. "Why are you guys here?"
"This will be a Nexon conference," Hanbin explained.
Chaewon sighed heavily. "Then why am I here? I'm not a part of Nexon anymore."
"Have you gone crazy? You are a part of Nexon," Hanbin said firmly.
Chaewon's frustration boiled over. He stood up, his voice rising. "Do you guys even understand what you're going to do? Fine, if you want to sue the company, do it. But if you're doing it for me, then please—don't. You don't know what I've been through. If we lose, it's over for you. And what about you, Winner? Didn't you want to be an actor? You just got a movie—do you really want to lose it?"
Hanbin quickly stood as well, resting a firm hand on Chaewon's shoulder to calm him down, urging him to sit. The room was filled with heavy silence.
Then Winner slowly raised his hand. His voice was calm but steady.
"Chaewon, we understand what we are doing. After what happened to you, I realized that life doesn't always give us what we want. There are always ups and downs, hardships waiting at every step. But there are also people who hold your hand and move forward with you. For me, it's not my family, not my fans, not even the production team or our manager—it's you guys. I don't really care about the movie. I care about you. We will go through this together. And even if we lose… we can just work at Shownu hyung's company. Im joking what I mean is that we still have eachother. "
For a moment, the seriousness lingered—but then everyone burst out laughing. The tense atmosphere melted away.
Chaewon smiled faintly. "But still…" he began, but Mark came up behind him and quickly covered his mouth, making everyone laugh even harder.
The tension finally eased, and they all sat together, leaning in around the table, ready to discuss the details of the upcoming conference.
