The raven had never seen so many zombies before.
So many that its simple intelligence couldn't distinguish the quantity, only knowing that it was far too many, too many to even begin to peck.
The raven ate meat, and also carrion; if a human or a zombie died, it was willing to peck a few bites.
But there were too many zombies this time, and viewing those swinging arms, its instinct was to retreat.
Flapping its wings, it took to the skies, believing that as long as it soared above, no matter how many there were, the zombies couldn't do anything to it.
But just as it was ascending, it witnessed an even more chilling scene.
The sky was dark, with countless mutated birds flying over like dark clouds.
Sparrows, swallows, ravens, magpies, pheasants, doves, hawks, owls.....
Virtually all the birds that could be seen in the northern region were there.
The number was so large, they covered the sky, truly spreading like clouds.
