It was another day the gang fighting against Eggman and his robots. Little does anyone know the battle between Sonic and Eggman will be their last. As the fight went on the doctor revealed a bomb that will destroy them. "Better think fast heroes if you don't want earth to explode." He was laughing as Sonic thought of something to make sure Eggman could never try to take over the world again. He is fully aware that both his life and the doctor's will be sacrificed. He had one thing he knew he had to do before going on with his plan.
Sonic turned around walking towards Shadow. He could tell something was on Sonic's mind and watches as he stands in front of him and holds his hands. Sonic takes a deep breath before speaking. "Listen carefully Shadow. I want all of you to stay here and no matter what happens...don't come after me." Shadow furrowed his eyebrows giving him a confused look. He felt Sonic hug him and he slowly hugged back. "You have been the greatest friend I could ask for." "I-I feel the same way about you Sonic." He gently cupped his cheeks giving him a kiss on the head and whispers something in his ear so nobody can hear. Shadow's eyes grew wide in shock from what he said.
Sonic pulled away with a sad smile and started walking back to Eggman turning into his super form. Shadow had a bad feeling about this. He wanted to help Sonic but Knuckles and Rouge were holding him back. "Let me go!" "Hun you heard what Sonic said. We can't interfere." It went silent when everyone heard Eggman screaming. They noticed he was attached to the bomb while Sonic was just standing there staring at him. The next thing that happened would change everything.
Sonic teleported away with Eggman and the bomb. Nobody knew where they went until there was a loud explosion and everyone looked up. He got the bomb away from earth on time before it exploded killing Eggman. However Sonic was nowhere to be seen. That is until Shadow noticed a gold streak falling from the sky. He got his arms free and ran away from the group trying to follow it. As he was running the gold streak slowly faded away. He slowly came to a stop trying to find Sonic's chaos energy. Even if he was dead he should still be able to feel it...but he felt no sign of him. Shadow started trembling and dropped to his knees remembering the last thing Sonic said. He gently cupped Shadow's cheeks giving him a kiss on the head and whispers in his ear so nobody can hear. "I love you Shadow" Tears started to fall from his eyes. "I love you too Sonic..."
